It was a medical school's convocation, so it made sense that an authority like Dan Zimmer would be invited as a guest.

But Senator of Riverton? This convocation ceremony is out of this world!

Even as the students stared in bewilderment as a smiling Gerald Simmons stepped out from backstage, waving at them, they clapped as hard as they could when they came to their senses.

"Did Bill invite him too?" someone murmured just then, leaving everyone in an uproar and turning toward a dumbfounded Bill.

"What? Oh, yeah... There's nothing to be surprised about, hehe..."

Bill quickly raised his hands, gesturing for calm and basically admitting to it.

"Whoa..."

Many students gasped-it was already unbelievable that Bill could invite Dan, but the senator too?! That was out of this world!

What connections did Bill have, really?

Even as the students speculated, the ladies' eyes were twinkling as they looked at Bill, surprised that he kept his family's connections hidden so well.

If they could marry him...

The ladies were immediately obsessed, and even Winter glanced at Bill in surprise that he could invite Riverton's senator.

He was far more important than she thought, and he might even be a match against Frank.

However, she still felt repulsed toward Bill-what she admired was not family connections or influence, but the person and their virtues alone.

And Bill made her feel insecure.

That was when Jean nudged her on the shoulder, urging, "What are you hesitating for? Can't you see what Bill did? He invited Riverton's senator too!"

"But it's not just worldly possessions..." Winter frowned at her bestie, her tone uncertain.

On the other hand, Bill had recovered from his initial panic, and decided to keep pretending to the end.

Even if he had no idea why Dan and Gerald came, both of them smiling cheerfully, he would properly seize this opportunity.

In that case, he probably would not even need the pill in his pocket!

"That's right," he said magnanimously. "Family connections and influence are nothing but worldly possessions. I've simply invited these bigwigs so that my fellow students would have better opportunities." "Shit, you're amazing, Bill!"

"Yeah. With the bigwigs giving us our certificates, we just have to go out and brag a little to get better jobs!"

Bill puffed his chest, relishing the sensation of being fawned over.

Even Winter could not help nodding in agreement, her expression turning mild.

Bill certainly was ideal, showing humility despite having such influence, and was also considerate to his fellow students.

In that sense, she was out of line.

"I'm sorry, Bill. I shouldn't be so cold to you," she apologized.

Bill appeared stunned but quickly smiled. "Don't worry about it, Winter. You're my friend even if you reject me."

While Bill's humblebragging earned him further appreciation from Winter, Mr. Zims announced on stage just then, "Hahaha... I'm sure everyone is surprised by how important our VIPs are. But the party is just getting started! Now, let's invite our third VIP-Mr. Tim Yates, chief of the Riverton commerce guild!"
