"Why are you pretending, Cindy? You're the one who thought of this whole thing! If you weren't so greedy and intent on getting payback on Helen all at once, you'd never be here! And now you're trying to run?! Well, it's too late!"

As soon Peter saw that Cindy was ready to flee, he caught her immediately and bellowed furiously, "Look at this one, everyone! She's the mastermind-we were all gaslighted into doing this!" Seeing that everyone's frag was directed toward her right then, Cindy was flustered and turned to slap Peter right then.

"You prick!" she snapped. "You ran away as soon as you conned Aunt Gina, and you would never have come back if that land lot's value didn't skyrocket and Kit Jameson didn't force you! Well, understand this -we lose nothing even if we gave up on that land, but you'd be dead if you don't get it back soon!"

"You slapped me?!" Peter bellowed back and wrestled Cindy as everyone watched, chivalry hardly a concern to him just then.

In turn, Cindy clawed at his face with her long nails, leaving bleeding scratches all over his face.

"That's enough!" Helen bellowed, having had enough of her own family beating each other up and making a scene as her employees watched. "Get them out of here, Frank!"

Peter flinched at Helen's outburst but quickly scrambled to his feet, grabbing Helen's leg as he pleaded, "Please, sis! I'm your brother! You have to save me! You can't just do nothing-Kit Jameson will kill me if I don't take back that land lot! I'm begging you!"

"It's your own mistake, and you should face the consequences. My charity has run its course for you a lot," Helen snapped coldly and shook off Peter as she left. "Get them out of here."

Even as Peter was knocked down on all fours, he howled at the top of his lungs, "Sis! Please! You have to save me!"

At the next instant, Frank grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out of the lobby.

Gina was dragged out too, while Cindy walked out on her own.

"This will be the last time. If it happens again..." Frank glowered, threatening Gina and Cindy directly and clenching his fists murderously.

He was incensed to see Helen caught in the middle of the mob so helplessly, and he might really kill them instantly if this happened again, even if they were Helen's family.

Seeing the look on Frank's face, Cindy kept her mouth shut tactfully since she knew that Frank was really furious.

Another word, and she would be silenced mercilessly.

On the other hand, Gina was not causing a scene for once.

Instead, she hung her head, her tone clearly remorseful as she spoke. "Frank Lawrence... Please apologize to my daughter on my behalf. Even as her mother... I can't bear to face her."

Frank paused and sighed lengthily. "Let's hope this will be the last time."

"Don't worry, I won't bother Helen anymore."

She then looked up and said quietly, "I still can't say that I'm happy to have you as my son-in-law, but Helen loves you, and I can only accept that. I hope you will get a proper job instead of relying on Helen for everything."

Frank pursed his lips-was he really that unseemly in Gina's perspective?!

Still, he found relief, as it seemed Gina was finally acknowledging him.
