It was a terrible storm that kept gaining momentum, but things were surprisingly quiet at Lanecorp despite them being the center of attention. According to information Thunder and Bolt had gathered, many factions were extending into Zamri, and the Favonis were no exception.

On the surface, they claimed the duel was just and to eliminate Frank-a disgrace to his fellow martial artists.

In reality, they simply saw the signs of a major reshuffling among the underbelly of Zamri.

As such, they wanted to get their hands on Zamri and get themselves a cut, so Stella's words fell on deaf ears.

Meanwhile, Frank had Winter Lawrence and her best friend Jean Zims move to Zamri, while Mona Fairfax left the East Coast under orders from Haply Hall.

It was just a day before the duel against Jaden, but Frank was leisurely lounging in the renovated mansion, instructing Winter and Jean on Draconian traditional medicine.

It was a profound subject, and even someone as smart as Winter had trouble grasping it despite her own medical knowledge.

She would mediate on the text Frank wrote for her noncommittally, exchanging impressions with Jean to facilitate their learning.

Frank watched them, his thoughts a thousand miles away.

Neither Helen nor Vicky were working.

They were outsourcing personnel for Lanecorp's health and safety department, with both girlbosses personally overseeing the excavation of that rundown project.

Progress was slow since they had no reference for what the spiritron vein actually looked like, but Frank was in no hurry.

He owned the land-he could take his time as she searched, and it was really the Bearsons who were getting impatient.

As he pointed out an intersection between several meridians, Blackie entered and announced, "Boss-I mean, Mr. Lawrence-there's this woman who's coming to see you." "Hmm...?" Winter was immediately staring at Frank warily.

After all, both Vicky and Helen had tasked her with watching Frank in their absence.

For his part, Frank had no words to defend himself.

Rubbing his nose, he chuckled awkwardly and asked Blackie, "Is she beautiful?"

"Nope." Blackie shook his head but thought about it and added doubtfully, "But... maybe?" "Frank."

Winter certainly heard that and looked up to level a glare of grief at Frank.

"Ahem."

Frank cleared his throat as he disguised his embarrassment. "It's not what you think. I just wanted to have an idea who it would be." "You're slick." Winter pouted. "But how would you tell who it is only from how pretty she is?"

"Heh." Frank chuckled confidently. "Most ladies I know are beautiful. If she's not, then it's someone I don't know, so I would be more wary..."

He trailed off, as he saw Winter's look of exasperation and Jean hiding a smile and realized he had misspoken.

He threw his hands up. "Alright, you girls keep studying. I'll go see who it is. You're staying here until you learn all the acupoints on the arm." After pulling rank as their mentor and tapping Winter on her smooth forehead, he left the study.
