Chet did not directly answer Frank's question, instead asking quietly, "May I ask who's asked you and why you're looking for the chief of the Martial Alliance?" He simply answered a question with another question, passing the buck back to Frank.

"It's her father's asking, and as for why..."

Frank paused, quickly smiling as he came up with an idea. "She and I were engaged as children, and I'm fulfilling that promise."

"What?"

Chet did a double take, narrowing his eyes in thought.

The chief of the Martial Alliance was engaged?! He had no idea... No, no one in the Martial Alliance even mentioned anything about that!

Was Frank bullshitting?!

For Frank's part, he needed a reasonable excuse for his search for the chief of the Martial Alliance, or he would look like he had no business getting involved.

Still, he had one-even if Silverbell was the chief of the Martial Alliance, was there a problem with him looking for his own fiancee?

Naturally, the engagement was bullshit, though Frank could argue it was an innocent vow he and Silverbell made while they were children, and it did not count. However, he mentioned it righteously now just to shut these people up.

If they wanted proof, they would have to ask Silverbell herself, and Frank would naturally replace her that way.

Chet was left at a loss by Frank's almost unscrupulous ploy.

However, he had already decided to hand over the chief of the Martial Alliance to Hundred Bane Sect, so he was not about to tell Frank she was right here in this residence. Shaking his head after some thought, he said, "I have no idea where she is."

"Really? You don't?"

Frank narrowed his eyes, noticing that the Favonis were behaving strangely... And everything seemed to revolve around the man in the white suit.

"Oh, quit it with the dilly-dallying!"

Edon had had enough right then, striding up impatiently and barking at Frank, "I have a question for you, brat!"

"Ask away." Frank smiled and nodded instead of getting standoffish.

"You fought Jaden, didn't you?" Edon demanded. "And the audience told me that you were poisoned too, just like him!"

Chet stood by, not stopping Edon since he was curious too.

"Indeed." Frank nodded.

"Then why are you standing here like you're perfectly fine, talking to us?" Edon asked impatiently.

Frank chuckled and shot back in amusement, "Why should I tell you?"

"Guh..." Edon was actually left stumped.

Frank simply shrugged. "The Bearsons poisoned Jaden, even if your boy insisted I did it. Shouldn't you be asking them instead of me? Or perhaps you think I did it?" "Shut up!"

Edon's cheeks flushed even as he barked, "We've already interrogated the Bearsons, but they don't have the antidote! But you? You're standing here like it's none of your business! So tell us what did you do?!" Frank's expression cooled as Edon was basically forcing him to answer.

Looking around at everyone present, he asked icily, "So, you're threatening me?"
