Gina's face turned pale at the crowd's contempt, and she wobbled like she could pass out in an instant.

Meanwhile, her old classmates were still pestering her.

"Gina, word of advice since we go way back-does your daughter really have trouble replaceing a better man, being as rich and successful as she is?" "But she had to pick him. Goodness..."

"Old classmates? Stop it already. Rub her son-in-law the wrong way once and you're dead."

"Sheesh, that's just brutal."

"Yeah. Let's not keep in touch, Gina-never, ever."

"Exactly. You stay in your lane from now on, Gina. We're afraid of you now."

Ilsa quickly added fuel to the fire as well. "Oh, Gina... I know we have our disagreements, but Theo's my only son. I'd rather not have you send your son-in-law after him."

Beside her, Theo chuckled coolly. "Well, I wouldn't mind letting him take a shot if he thinks he can do it."

Their endless mockery left Gina blacking out and collapsing right then.

"Mom!" Helen hurried to her, resuscitating her.

As Gina stirred, she slowly wobbled toward Frank with Helen's assistance and dropped to her knees in front of him.

She was ready to kowtow to Frank, but Helen quickly stopped her, crying, "What are you doing, Mom?! There are people watching!"

However, Gina squeezed her hand and pleaded, "Just listen to me, okay? Give up on him already, please?"

"I..." Helen did not know what to say, caught in a dilemma just then.

"Enough!"

Frank suddenly bellowed coldly as everyone looked on just then. "I'm not a sadistic, bloodthirsty killing machine who would murder someone just because he threw a glass of water at my face!"

Pointing at Jackie's corpse, he continued furiously, "He was threatening me to dump Helen, spouting bullshit like she was his target! I held back against him and warned him not to harass me, but what did he do? He called in his gangster friends, vowing to kill me right then!"

As the crowd turned silent, Frank looked around and took a moment to breathe, chuckling bitterly, "I never fought back, because it's in bad taste to spill blood on a wedding day--I know that much! Or at least, that's what I thought, but he and his friends kept pestering me and were insistent on getting violent.

"I kept putting up with it-there were even two security guards who tried to talk them out of it, only to get beaten up. So you're saying I should just stand there and let them kill me?!"

Just as Frank finished, Hardy fired back despite his tears, "You're lying! Everything you said is slander, and an excuse you're giving for murdering my son! And there's no way my son can defend himself now that he's dead... Moreover, my son was always so kind and virtuous! How could he call up gangster friends?! You're lying through your teeth!"
