Frank stomped on Gable's only leg, narrowing his eyes as he growled coolly, "You really don't know when to give up, huh? Not content with killing your father, you'd try to kill your mother too?! You're a real animal! It'd dirty my hands to kill you!" Though Gable flinched at Frank's outburst, he did his best to force a smile as he pleaded, "You won't kill me, right? I-I had no choice! I racked up a huge debt and they've been coming after me, so if I don't pay up-" "That's not my problem." Frank chuckled coolly and pressed his foot down.

Crack.

As Gable's joints cracked audibly from overwhelming pressure, he cried, "Wait! Wait! I can tell you everything! Just spare my life... I'll return to Laneville with you and confess everything! If you kill me, my mother will hate you even more! You have to let me live!" It was actually a smart move by Gable to save his own skin despite the direness of his situation.

After all, he knew that his mother just might be able to keep him alive if he was allowed to return to Laneville, while he basically stood no chance of survival with Frank.

Sohil's corpse nearby was a clear proof of that.

"Hmph."

Even Frank had to admit that Gable's offer to confess was exactly what he wanted.

Snorting coolly, he said, "In that case, I can spare you for now."

Hearing that, Gable wiped the sweat off his brow and sighed in relief when Frank glowered and shoved his foot down before he realized it.

Crack.

Argh!

Gable was screaming hysterically-Frank had broken his ankle, and he could only crawl for the rest of his life.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

Even as Gable cursed on top of his lungs to express his rage and agony, he did not dare to curse Frank directly.

And with that done, Frank made a call, and Peter Lane and members of Lanecorp's health and safety department soon rushed to the scene.

They dismantled the entire basement bar and took the now crippled Gable back to Lanecorp Tower.

"Search all of Zamri for any signs of Borc Zomer," Frank told Terry Cotton, and he called Trevor Zurich to join the search too.

He also told Trevor to look for traces of Baba Yaga and Hardy Xinder, just to get rid of those annoyances once and for all.

As night arrived at Laneville, Fleur found herself tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.

Eventually, she called for a maid to turn on the lights, scowling as she asked, "Where's Gable? Why isn't he back yet?"

"I-I don't know." The maid hung her head as she replied. "Mr. Lane left early in the morning, so he should have been back by now..." Fleur was at once annoyed. "Did that brat bail on me?!"
