"Huh?!"

Huub's accusation caught Frank off guard.

Both Helen and Gina were stunned for a moment, but they turned toward Frank too, and he frowned. "Still trying to bullshit your way out of this, and even trying to blame me for using a fake?" "Frank!"

Gina strode up just then, glancing between Helen and Frank as she yelled, "I don't know if Mr. Droitner gave us a fake herb, but he at least had the sincerity to help us along the way! That alone makes him better than you!"

She paused before adding coolly, "Where were you and Helen and I are worried sick for her uncle? And now, you jump out of nowhere. It makes me wonder about your intention!"

Huub was certainly delighted with Gina's outburst, though he chuckled under his breath. "I knew it she really is an idiot."

Then, turning toward Helen with a loving gaze, he said, "I don't know if my Bloodcrane Spiritbloom was messed with, but I swear that it's my family heirloom passed down from my great-great-great grandfather. I wouldn't have taken it out if not for you, but you're now accusing me of bringing a fake... it just hurts so much."

In reality, he was just quickly switching from direct aggression to passiveness, and it certainly proved useful as Helen was vulnerable to passive aggression.

She was at once guilty to see Huub's bleak, disappointed eyes-it was true that Huub had been helping her since yesterday.

Moreover, someone so rich and important would not stoop to tricking her with a fake.

But if that was true, that meant that Frank had really switched the Bloodcrane Spiritbloom meant for the kidnapper in Room 10?

Helen was left in a dilemma right then-she knew that Frank was no thief, but she would not believe that Huub would deceive her either.

Seeing her hesitation, Gina hurried to Helen and whispered into her ear. "Oh, why are you hesitating?"

Helen realized with a start right then. "Okay, we'll check the cameras!"

"Oh, no..."

Frank's heart skipped a beat right then.

After all, he had indeed been hiding in Room 10.

Out of sheer curiosity, he had checked the box after Helen and the others left.

Moreover, he had taken the box away from the cameras, and based on the angle, it could easily be misinterpreted that he was really switching the contents. But at this point, Frank had no choice either.

He could only follow Helen and the others, who sought out the karaoke box manager, asking to check the security footage as they had lost something in the room. They had to argue for a while, but the karaoke box manager eventually nodded and brought the footage.

To no surprise, around five minutes after Helen had the call with the kidnapper, Frank appeared and took the box away from the camera's view before putting it back.
