The Great Medical Saint -
Chapter 240
Was that considered serious? Matthew still thought it was a small matter. He thought of Mason, Jenny, and Cosmo.
One was from the Frostbloom Sect, while the other was from the Medieval Sect. One's grandfather was kidnapped. One's grandfather died. Their fates just got worse and worse. Matthew had come prepared, so he wasn't surprised. He said indifferently, "I'll help you."
Silas looked doubtful. Matthew was being very nonchalant about helping him. Perhaps he hadn't fully understood the severity of the situation. "Consider it carefully. If you help me, you'll be dragged into the mess too. You might even end up like me. Would you still be willing to help me?"
Matthew nodded. This was something that he had to do. "I'm willing to do it with you."
Silas shook his head not out of disbelief, but out of the bizarreness of it all.
He had a lot of relatives and friends. However, they all left him when he ran into trouble. He didn't believe that a stranger would be willing to risk his life all just because their elders were friends. "Why? What are you scheming?"
Matthew was put in a tough spot. His ulterior motive was to get the Gugleni Compendium, but he was worried that Silas would back out of the deal if he said it.
He replied, "It doesn't matter why I'm doing it. What's important is the fact that I can help you set up a clinic. Do you want it?"
Silas thought about it. He had nothing, so it didn't matter what Matthew was planning. "I'll open the clinic. The only thing I want to do in this life is be a doctor." Matthew nodded. At least he still had some courage in him. "Pick a place then."
Silas' eyes regained their sparkle. "I'm not picky. I only need a space big enough for a table."
Matthew led Silas out. "I saw a baby store on the way here with a 'for sale' sign placed out front. Maybe the children here have decreased, so business isn't doing so well. ll rent it
for you."
There were three shops in front of Medicare Hospital. There was a flower shop, a pharmacy, and a baby store. The baby store had "Sunny Babies Co." written on it. The shop was empty. Silas looked at the shop, then at the hospital. He looked conflicted. "You chose a killer spot."
Matthew knew what he meant. With the hospital so nearby, opening a clinic here would be challenging. If his skills were bad, he was basically asking to go out of business. But if he had exceptional skills, he would be inviting trouble.
However, Matthew had no time to be arguing with Silas. This was a good place. People would be able to recognize his skill immediately.
"Go take a shower and get some new clothes to freshen up your appearance a bit. I'll handle the paperwork and get the furniture and medical supplies."
Silas nodded. "Alright. I'll tidy myself up. But when the business starts, you'd better leave at the first sign of trouble. Don't say I never warned you." Matthew grew a little concerned by his words. It felt like something sinister was bound to happen.
Matthew got Ansel to settle the shop's affairs in the afternoon. Soon, the sign on the shop said "Peace Clinic". All the shop needed was a doctor running it. Their neighbors gave them odd looks, and the people who walked past the shop shook their heads.
Matthew waited in the shop.
Suddenly, someone walked in. He
had short hair and was wearing a white shirt and gold-rimmed glasses. He looked alert and
bel
handsome. On top of that, he looked
really clean. He was like a hottie that
had walked out of a movie set.
It was Silas Solomon! Matthew couldn't believe that this was the same man who was digging through trash before.
Silas looked at everything in the shop in surprise. "Is it already done?"
As he spoke, he went up to the table and ran his finger along the supplies. He ran the syringes between his fingers as if he were saying hello to an old friend.
