THE GREAT SURPRISE
Chapter 3

Hours later, she arrived at Canada’s International Airport. Everything went smoothly with the customs officers before her passport was stamped with a visa. Seconds later, Suzy boarded a cab which took her to Tyler’s Bed & Breakfast. Overlooking the beautiful view of the city decorated in Christmas lights and decorations. Until it changed into iced creeks, trees, snowy mountainous background leading to a three-story building. It was designed like a modern-day stone cabin hotel; the billboard sign written: Tyler’s Bed & Breakfast beneath it was: ‘We make you feel at home in Carnie Cave Valley.’ The driver pulled over at the entrance.

‘Thanks. Here,’ Suzy said paying the cab driver who smiled accepting the bills.

He nodded, ‘No problem, Miss’ and watched her exited the backseat with her luggage. Then he reversed and drove off, back to the city.

Feeling the chilly breeze swept against her clothes, she muttered, ‘I better get inside before I freeze to death.’

She pushed the wooden door opened entering the heated lobby. Shutting the door behind her, Suzy noticed how impeccable the interior of this Bed & Breakfast look. With its rustic antique-looking designer furniture and lights; smelling of peach-pine wood painted with nonflammable paint it was amazing. Her gaze shifted observing a family of seven dressed in their skiing gears were about to leave. She made her way to the gentleman at the front desk. The receptionist named Tommy lifted his green eyes to meet hers. She saw it shone with a platinum colour that strangely fascinated her. It reminded of Tyler’s eyes, it had the same effect in the photo.

'How may I help you, Miss?’ Tommy asked giving his undivided attention.

Suzy pulled herself together and smiled, ‘I would like to book a room for two weeks if that’s possible.’

‘Looks like you came on time; we have one left on the third floor,’ Tommy answered.

Suzy sighed, ‘Thank God, I’ll have it. Do you have job openings?’ and she handed him her debit card and some cash.

‘Great,’ Tommy smiled booking her into the hotel before looking at her; seriously, because of her last question. ‘She’s looking for a job? Tyler did have a new opening for a waitress. She would fit in perfectly with the guys. As long as they keep their hands and sex drives to themselves’ and smiled, ‘We have an opening for a waitress would you like to apply?’

Suzy nodded smiling, ‘Yes, that’ll be awesome’ and thought, ‘Now, all I have to do is replace Ms. Harmsworth friends: Skylar and Matt to get the story’ and watched the receptionist handed her an application as she gladly accepted it.

‘Just have a seat over there and fill out the form by then I’ll have your room key ready, Ms. McFallon,’ Tommy instructed.

Suzy replied, ‘Okay and please call me, Suzy. If I’m going to be working here we need to drop the formalities, I’m not that old, you know.’

‘That’s if our boss chooses you for the position, darling,’ Tommy smirked flirtily.

Suzy raised her eyebrow realising he was flirting with her and she walled up herself, ‘I won’t worry too much about it, thanks’ and then walked over to the couch before she started filling out the form.
