The sheer force of Liam's words hit them where it hurt the most. They could barely contain themselves from screaming.

"We mocked him for not seeing Ethan for who he was, but we were the ones in

the wrong

instead."

"The chief has been arrested, and he was the only one who saw through everything."

Many officers teared up.

"It's all your fault!"

Following a loud cry, an officer grabbed a colleague's collar and rammed him into the wall.

"Why did you report the chief for wrongdoing? The chief has been arrested. Are you happy now?"

The individual held against the wall held his tongue, hanging his head in shame. That was true. Why did he?

They had worked alongside the chief for years. Why could he not trust the chief just once? Why was he sure that Ethan was to be blamed?

Ethan was the one who gave the most and suffered the most in return.

"Smack!"

The officer, pinned to the wall, slapped himself a couple of times as tears ran down his face. The others kept to themselves, not knowing what to say. Due to their misunderstanding of Ethan, things could never go back to the way they

were.

At the Yates' residence, Liam's parents and wife were inconsolable.

"So he was doing the right thing all along. Instead of helping and understanding him as a family, we pointed fingers at him. We were wrong.

"We failed Ethan too."

Liam's mother passed out from crying.

They used to bask in the spotlight, feeling superior above all. However, with the

truth out, they realized they were the lowest of the low.

Liam's family could not face Ethan, especially with his brilliance.
