The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 94

As Chloe sat in the small fishing trawler, she smiled warmly as the captain of the boat hauled the anchor and they began to set sail across the small stretch of choppy water. As she had predicted, the seas calmed as they approached, Zander was in another trawler, and tranquil waters appeared in the midst of the residue of the stormy waves. They did not even need to be in their wolf form now, just their presence calmed the angry waters. It was amazing to see the large waves then retreat as they approached them, and the boat hardly even rock let alone thrash about in the sea.

Chloe sat trying to look nonchalant, like she was used to this type of thing happening to her, but in reality she was amazed, shocked and surprised. Felling like an excited child, she supressed the squeals of delight that she had this amazing power, so that the werewolves from the Ronsay pack would take her seriously, rather than think of her only as the excited teenager she was.

“This is so cool!” She mind linked with Zander.

“I know, I am kind of shocked, but don’t want to show it.” Zander chuckled back at her.

“Yeah me too, I am sitting here like s**t like this happens every day, when I really want to squeal about how awesome this is!” Zander’s deep chuckle reverberated through Chloe, and instantly had her body on full alert. Taking a breath, she attempted to calm down her s****l excitement of her mates’ laughter, hoping the fishy smell on the trawler would mask the scent of her arousal from the Ronsay pack members.

As the fishing trawlers pulled into the small habour, Chloe grinned, as Ethan stood on the end of the pier waving his hands in the air excitedly.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” Chloe laughed as she stepped out of the boat, and gathered Ethan for a hug, happy to see him.

“Thought you might need my awesomeness, and Mam said to come to help heal the Alpha.” Ethan grinned back at her.

“Cool, but he is on the mend now. Seriously Ethan, it is f*****g mind-blowing what happened. When your mum told me it was not a natural storm, I just knew what I had to do, even though I really didn’t have a clue it would work. I kind of went outside and Sheba literally shook the wind away, then put Hamish’s and on her fur and she shook again, and he began to heal. I mean, you couldn’t make this s**t up!” Chloe excitedly told her friend.

“Well, we have a few of us here. Josh and Nicki are going to co-ordinate the aid to Shetland, once we have unloaded this lot from the plane.” Ethan smiled.

“Great, so, tell me how is everyone.?” Chloe asked, as if she had been away for weeks, rather than just over 36 hours.

“Everyone is good. You saw them, like, yesterday morning.” Ethan laughed.

“You know, I have been in such a dark place it feels like forever that I have really seen them, if that makes sense.” Chloe smiled as Ethan nodded his head. He could empathize with his friend and Luna, but he could never understand what she had gone through.

“Well, you look a lot brighter, I have to admit.” Ethan smiled, then lent in to whisper in her ear.

“Delphine is here with Issac, but they are still sorting out something on the plane. You mates are gross. Seriously, I am sure they joined the mile-high club”, Ethan stated, his eyes wide.

“What at 37,000 feet.?” Chloe teased, then with a laugh she said in her deepest voice.

“Been there, done that.”

Laughing, the friends began to sing the rest of Nickleback’s Rockstar and did a crazy dance as Zanders fishing trawler finally moored onto the jetty.

As Zander walked down the small gang plank, his heart pounded in his chest, as he saw Chloe singing and dancing with Ethan, a wave of emotion threatened to consume him, such was his utter happiness of seeing her relax and having some fun.

“What is going on here?” Zander laughed.

“Delphine has joined the mile high club Alpha”, Ethan laughed, as once more Chloe burst into song and Zander chuckled, shaking his head slightly at her.

Delphine walked towards the group, her face flushed clearly in the afterglow, as Issac swaggered beside her like a proud peacock.

“Delphine, did you have a good flight?” Chloe shouted, wiggling her eyebrows and a grin on her face.

“Erm, yeah, it was okay thanks.” Delphine blushed slightly.

“Luna, all the aid you requested is here, along with some other things Beta Luke said we might need.” Issac stammered, trying to change the subject.

“Do we need to wash some of the blankets? After you two christened the plane,” Chloe asked, then started to giggle again.

Issac’s face went bright red, as she shuffled his feet, his swagger disappearing instantly as embarrassment consumed him.

“Erm, so… Liane sends her apologies, but she wasn’t up to doing this mission, she is still recovering from the whole mate being a cheating bastard incident, and Alpha Robin said if you need him and our Luna, then give him a shout and they will come up as well.” Delphine changed the subject from her newly mated s*x life.

Terrance walked towards Zander and bowed his head in respect, as Ellie followed close behind.

“Ellie, you are here, I am so happy to see you.” Chloe greeted her happily.

“Thank you Chloe, oh and Mam sent a batch of her home-made biscuits to eat as well. She was cooking them all night.” Ellie grinned, happy her mother was beginning to act like she had before her mate had betrayed them all. Chloe did not miss how Ethan kept stealing looks at Ellie, it was clear he still had feelings for her. Ellie, however, was maintaining a distance, she had seen the affects of being inpatient and now waiting to replace a mate first hand, and she was more determined than ever not to put herself or Ethan through the guilt and shame if they were not mated to each other, no matter how much she really wanted to be with him.

“Okay, so let’s get the stuff for the Ronsay pack loaded onto the boats, so that we can send the plane back to pick up Josh and Nicki, and get some of the aid to Shetland.” Zander ordered, and they all began to unload the plane.

Chloe let out a soft sigh, she could not help but feel happy that Liane was not there, even though she felt a lot better, she still had a deep distrust of the girl, something wasn’t adding up to her, and it wasn’t just because she was friends with Delphine, now that she could see clearer in her own mind, she knew something was definitely wrong. When Caroline rejected her husband, she was broken, unable to function, and almost at death’s door through the pain of everything. Liane, however, was acting more like she was in pain, rather than being in pain. Chloe knew enough to realize this was suspicious, but then she wondered how one of her closest friends could be deceived by her, so she still felt conflicted. However, she had learnt a long time ago, even before replaceing out she was a werewolf with all the different gifts Sheba seemed to possess, to trust her gut, and something about Liane was smelling fishier than the trawler she had just stepped off. Pulling out her mobile, Chloe walked to the opposite side of the harbor and rang Lacey.

“Chloe, how are you?” The concern in Lacey’s voice was evident.

“We are all okay. Faith discerned it was a supernatural storm rather than a ‘real’ one, so Sheba was able to put a stop to it. Actually, I have something that is bothering me.” Chloe sighed.

“Liane.” Lacey responded, with a tone that told Chloe she was not the only one with suspicions about the girl.

“Yeah, something is off about her Lacey, I know she is staying in your pack with Delphine. I just wanted to ask your thoughts and recommend you keep a close eye on her.”Chloe sighed.

“Yeah, already on it. As soon as Delphine and Issac left this morning, she tried to say she was going to go be alone, but headed off towards the Creseant Moon boarder of the pack. I have Glen, one of the young trackers from the academy following her, and I have also alerted Faith to have someone watch her when she gets into your pack as well.” Lacey informed Chloe, happy she could talk to her about this stuff, for the past weeks, she had kept a lot of information, and her concerns about Liane to herself, not wanting to burden Chloe with anything extra as she healed.

“Glad I am not the only one who replaces her behavior off. So we are going to help out up here for a few days, Lacey. Would you mind checking in on Faith every now and then, and I know Josh and Nicki are heading to Shetland, so maybe check in with Gav as well, just whilst we are here?” Chloe asked.

“Of course I don’t mind, remember we are in this together. Robin is also going to put a call in with Alpha Harry from the Wearside pack, to get a little history on Liane, and I am hoping we can send her back. I really need to talk to Delphine and Issac about her when they return.” Lacey sighed, she did not like the thought of ordering her new beta and head warrior’s friend back to where she came from, but now she knew Chloe was equally suspicious, she would happily get rid of the girl, they had enough to be worried about without Liane, and her reasons for being in her pack.

“Yeah, well, when I get back we can all sit down and have a proper chat about everything, because I am sorry, I have not really been taking care of my business, but I am a lot better Lacey, so I need to have a good catch up about everything.”

“I am happy you are getting back to your old self, Chloe. Anyway, stay safe, and if there are any problems I will ring you.””The phone mast is down on the island, so you may need to ring the alpha land line. See you soon Lacey, love you.”

“Love you too, princess” Chloe smiled at Lacey’s response and a wave of happiness washed over her. She had friends and support, and she could not have survived the past few weeks without Lacey and Nicky picking up her lack, and just supporting her as she went through her emotional turmoil.

“Okay Chloe, the boats are packed up, let’s get this show on the road.” Zander smiled at his mate.

“Don’t you mean on the water?” Chloe laughed, then made her way onto the trawler that was now packed with the aid, as they headed back to the storm-damaged island, her mind wondering why Liane was heading towards her pack, but her heart happy that she could trust Faith and Lacey to deal with whatever came up, whilst she helped those who needed it the most right now.
