Chapter 1 Used
Knock! Knock!!
Before she could reply, she heard the beeping sound of the door. Walking through it was Marcus.
He was a tall man whose handsomeness had the ability to set every girl’s heart skipping. His dark eyes always seem to stare right into your soul.
He wore a dark suit. The white shirt he wore inside peeked through the open suit jacket. His hands were tucked in his pocket when he got in.
Kimberly stared words going dry from her mouth.
“How did you get in?” She asked, still confused. He raised a card as a smile spread on his face.
“Were you expecting someone tonight?”
“Yeah and I’m sure it isn’t you.”
Marcus walked to the bed where she was seated.
“Well, I’m here and I doubt there is something you can do about it.”
He removed his jacket and dropped it on the sofa chair that stood directly opposite him.
“So what are you doing here?”
“It might actually surprise you to know that I bear news of your supposed visitor.” Kimberly raised her left eye brow in inquiry.
“What do you mean?”
“Aren’t you wondering why he didn’t show up tonight?”
“I’m guessing he had something important to do tonight.” Marcus Les out a loud laugh which startled Kimberly.
“And he didn’t bother to call you?”
“Perhaps it was very important.”
“You mean like going out with someone else?” Those words caught her attention and she waited patiently for him to continue but he just brought out a cigarette from his breast pocket and lit it.
Kimberly was trying hard to silence the voices which were trying to bring out meaning from the words Marcus had just dropped.
William couldn’t possibly cheat on her, could he?
“I’m really sorry but were you really thinking your fiancée was a gentleman? Guess what? Think again.” Let out a puff of air.
“But how exactly do you know that? Like how did you know I was here?”
“Don’t you think that maybe I came here at his request?”
“I doubt you did.”
Marcus wasn’t the kind of man to take orders from anyone, especially from those which he considers inferior to him and Kimberly was sure William was one of those people.
“If that’s true, then how do you explain this?” he raised the card he had used to get in earlier.
This just couldn’t be possible, William had booked the room himself, it wasn’t possible for Marcus to have a spare card unless…
His mind began to drift to the various possibilities but she still refused to admit the truth staring her in the face.
“Do you want to see the real face of your so-called fiancée?”
With tears in her eyes, she sat down on the purple carpet which spread across the room. She couldn’t believe as much as she wanted to.
Marcus brought out a white handkerchief from his pocket and cleaned her tears.
She didn’t feel grateful, all she felt was the strength which she couldn’t muster to stand up.
Marcus sat looking at her with a grin on his face. He always took delight in others’ grievances, hence was very pleased with himself tonight.
“Come on, let’s go.”
He held her by the arm and raised her to her feet and supported her till they left the hotel.
It wasn’t until their car packed in Williams mansion that Kimberly realized just how bad things had turned that night.
His face turned pale as he unconsciously gave command for her to leave.
Marcus laughed as he saw her face.
“Why do you look so scared? Don’t tell me you want to run now, do you? I’m trying to save you from further heartbreak because from the moment you enter this house, you will be seeing a lot more than just one woman. I heard that women from the Caddel family never divorce they are only allowed to die as widows. So the choice is all yours. But you could end all that tonight.”
Marcus’s voice felt a kilometer away to Kimberly at this moment.
“Sorry, what did you say?”
“Didn’t you hear me?” he gave a sigh of frustration as he continued, “I said, I’m about to save you years of pain… who knows the kind of woman you will be seeing after your wedding… My cousin is inclusive. So who knows you might be the first to break the thousand year curse.”
He turned and faced her, his hands caressing her face playfully. The thought of having her break the thousand year curse brought great delight to him.
Kimberly bit her lip as the weight of Marcus’s insult dropped on her ego.
She wanted to speak, but everything he had said was true.
William had always been a selfish man who thought of no one else but himself. That’s how he had always been and she couldn’t replace a reason why this very accusation was beyond his power.
Even if he had done something despicable tonight, for the sake of the family’s reputation she was willing to bear it all.
“Don’t worry, who knows maybe I’ll be able to help you.”
The words Marcus has previously dropped angered her but this one gave her hope.
“Who is there?” the security personnel shouted from the shadows. As the man walked towards them, he sighted Marcus and quickly apologized before leaving.
“So, shall we get going?”
Kimberly took a step into the mansion.
“Come on baby, take it rough.”
“Will you moan harder if I did it roughly?”
The door wasn’t entirely closed.
Kimberly stood frozen as she heard moans coming from the room before her. She kept her hand on the door knob. Indecisive of the next action to take.
It was the fifth anniversary of her relationship with William. And her family had a policy of no intimate relationship until after vows were exchanged at the altar.
William had been so insisting on it that after their engagement, they had planned to have sex tonight. And for that purpose, he had booked the hotel.
They had decided to start out with a date.
Kimberly had thought that when they woke up the next day, they would be smiling at each other with her in his arms.
The moaning that came out of the woman inside as William dropped his mouth on his breast, brought Kimberly back to reality. Just in time to see her changing position and seeing him taking her from behind.
The moaning filled the entire room escaping through the crack in the doorway.
The woman’s face held an expression of intoxication as William slapped her buttocks with passion. Another moan escaped from her mouth as he found the spot.
“Had anyone told you that William had no morals you probably wouldn’t have agreed but now you have seen it with your own eyes. Why don’t you go in and confront him? This might be your ticket to end it.”
The devil’s whisper, strong on one side and the sounds of lust and passion on the other side.
Kimberly bid her lips hard, her eyes reddening whether it was anger or tears no one could tell.
Sounds of intimacy on side and temptation on the other, she was left even more indecisive than before.
