Julianna's

POV

The clock on the wall told me it was 10:00 in the evening. I didn't know where I was supposed to sleep in this place. He only had one bedroom. I would sleep on the couch if it meant staying away from Logan. After I washed my face and put on some pajamas they had brought, I sat down on the couch intent on going to sleep. Before I could lie down, the door opened, and Logan came into the room.

"What are you doing?" he asked, eyeing me on the couch.

"I'm going to sleep. What does it look like I'm doing?" He looked confused, almost like 'how could I think I was going to sleep on the couch?' "No," he said firmly.

"I'm sorry?"

"No, you're not sleeping out here on the couch. You'll sleep in my bed with me."

"I would prefer not to."

"I said, you will sleep in my bed with me!" He was starting to raise his voice.

"Fine," I said, getting to my feet and storming to the bedroom. He watched me walk in, throw back the covers, and slide in onto one side as close to the edge as I could. He stood in the doorway for a couple of seconds staring at me. "What?" I said. Silence was all that followed, as he walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

"If he wants us in here so badly, why is he being so weird?" I asked Sofia.

"He's probably trying to hide his erection."

"Oh Goddess, that's disgusting!"

"Well, it's the truth." I didn't even want to think about that right now, there was no way anything like that was happening tonight or any other night I had to be here. After about ten minutes, he came out of the bathroom in his boxers. I knew it wasn't my fault, but I couldn't help staring at him. I had never seen him without a shirt before because I spent so much time avoiding him. Now everything was on full display, especially the tattoo on his chest of a wolf howling at a full moon. Without meaning to, I bit my lip, looking him up and down. He was standing in the doorway of the bathroom watching me. I don't think either of us knew what to do next.

I could feel myself getting wet the longer I looked at his bulging muscles, and I pressed my thighs together hoping he wouldn't be able to smell my desire. Those hopes were dashed when I saw his eyes flash as his wolf tried to take control from pure l**t. 'Get a grip of yourself!'

"And you're sure we hate this guy?" Sofia asked me.

"Yes, I'm sure." Sofia's words were what I needed to pull myself out of my mate haze. I had let myself lose control once and kissed him, I wasn't looking to do that again. Logan came and laid down next to me finally. He had a king-sized bed, so there was a lot of space between us, which I was thankful for. I didn't know what to do or say, so I decided to turn over and face the wall. It took a while, but I was finally able to drift off to sleep.

My eyes fluttered open, and for a second I forgot where I was and about what happened yesterday. It all came flooding back to me and I sat up quickly. Looking around, I didn't see Logan anywhere. I listened hard but could hear anything coming from the bathroom or the living room.

"Oh Goddess," I breathed out, covering my face with my hands.

"I was hoping it had all been a dream," I said to Sofia.

"Sorry, welcome back to reality." Getting out of bed, I crept quietly to the bedroom door and opened it just a crack. Still, I didn't hear or smell Logan. I opened the door wider to look around. He was nowhere to be found and I was thankful for that. I closed the door, turning around and leaning on it. Then, I heard my mom's voice in my head.

"Julia, honey? Are you doing, okay?"

"Mom? Yeah, I'm okay. I just woke up and Logan's not here."

"Well, everyone is running around getting ready for tomorrow, so I'm probably going to be busy most of the day. I just wanted to tell you that I love you so much."

"I love you too, mom, and I'll see you soon."

"Okay sweetheart, stay strong." This was the first time I had talked to her since they brought her to see me yesterday. A shower seemed like a good idea, so I walked into the bathroom. It was very spacious and modern. White subway tiles lined the walk-in shower, and the marble floor was cold on my bare feet. I had placed some of my toiletries in here last night before I went to bed, and there was a fresh towel hanging up behind the door. After a quick hot shower, I dressed in some bike shorts and a crop tank top. Completing the look with sneakers, I wanted to be prepared in case Marvin came to get me.

I was rummaging through one of the boxes Logan had brought looking for a hair tie when I felt the cold metal of the broach my mom had given me for my birthday. I took it out and held it in my hands, examining it. This was the most precious thing I owned, and I wanted it to come with me. Logan had brought my crossbody purse, and I zipped the broach inside for safe keeping. Throwing the strap over my shoulder. Also, in the same box were my pencils and drawing paper.

Drawing had always been something I enjoyed and one of the few things I was good at. Gathering up the items in my arms, I went out onto the balcony that was attached to the living room. Logan did have one lounge chair out here, so I sat down and began sketching the landscape in front of me. I was on my third drawing. This time I was sketching Sofia and how I saw her in my mind when the balcony door flew open. I looked up and saw the stern face of Marvin.

"Marvin?" I was surprised to see him looking so angry with me. I glanced behind him and saw the same large-looking warrior who had come to take my list.

"Get up." Marvin said sternly. I put my paper on the floor and got up. He grabbed me firmly under the arm and started marching me to the door.

"Marvin, what's happening?" He didn't answer me.

"Don't worry, I have to act this way in front of Gregory's crone. I'm getting you out." My heart jumped into my throat. I looked behind me and saw scary warrior following us.

"How are we gonna lose ding-dong back there?"

"Leave it to me and play along." I let Marvin lead me out of the apartment and to the doors of the elevator. He turned to the warrior.

"Thank you, Darius, I can take it from here. Go tell the Alpha, I have her."

"Yes Beta." Darius headed for the Alpha office and when the doors to the elevator opened, Marvin shoved me inside. As the doors slid closed, he let go of my arm and turned to face me.

"I'm sorry to be so rough. I didn't want Darius to report anything to Gregory."

"So, what's happening?" I asked, concerned.

"Logan is busy with a lesson right now and Gregory is shut in his office. I'm taking you to the border near where we train and letting you go. There's a human town about 7 miles north where you can replace a place to stay. I've hidden a small bag filled with things for you in the training area. Take it and get as far from here as possible. Once you break your ties with the pack and reject Logan, you won't have much time."

"But I can't reject him. He said I can't." Marvin hit the emergency stop on the elevator.

"Listen to me, you can reject him. You're the daughter of an Alpha and powerful High Priestess."

"I'm... What...."

"Yes, I can't tell you how I know, but I do. That's why you're mated to an Alpha's son. You're an Alpha yourself, so you can reject him, and you will." "I.. I don't understand?"

"I know, but I can't tell you anything else, but trust me, when I tell you, you can reject him." He hit the button and the elevator jerked downward again. "You'll have to act like you're scared of me. I should be the only one taking you away, but if anyone is watching, it needs to look convincing."

"Okay."

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole daughter of an Alpha and High Priestess," Sofia said. The elevator came to a stop, and when the doors opened, I was horrified. There were about five large warriors standing in front of the elevators. "Beta Marvin, we were told we were to assist you in disposing of the hybrid. Can I just say, we're very excited to finally rid her from this pack." I felt Marvin stiffen beside me.

"Did he just say dispose of?" Sofia questioned.

"Fu*k," was all I could say back to her.
