The Hybrid’s Second Chance -
Chapter 52
Marvin's
POV
So much had happened over the last twenty-four hours, it was hard to wrap my mind around. One minute, I was sitting in the dungeons, and now I was sitting in my office as the Alpha of October Moon. Alpha was never a title I was interested in having, but I planned to hold it for as long as I needed to, to make this pack what it should have been all along. That might mean banishing people who refused to see another way of living, but if that's what I had to do, so be it. Julia and Alexander were expected here at some point to fill me in on all the things I'd missed, like how they even met.
I had so much to do now that I was the Alpha. Beth and I would need to move into the pack house, and I wanted all traces of Logan and Gregory stripped from these walls before I did it. Sandra was currently unpacking her belongings onto the Beta floor. She wanted to stay in her house, but there was no way I would let her stay in that shack while I had this entire pack house. Both of us were still slightly stunned at what had happened. Julia was now mated to the Lycan King and about to become Queen, it felt like a proud father moment for me. There was a soft knock on my door.
"Come on in," I said. In walked Olivia, one of the omega's that worked in the pack house.
"Alpha, Luna Julianna and Alpha Alexander have just arrived."
"Thank you, Olivia. I'll be right out to meet them."
"Sandra, Beth, they're here," I told them in a group link, getting to my feet.
"Okay, be right there."
"It's gonna be strange to address her as Luna Julianna," Ray said.
"I have a feeling she's gonna tell us not to." When I got outside the pack house, they were both stepping out of the car.
"Marvin!" Julia said, running up the stairs to give me a hug.
"Luna, hello."
"Oh Goddess, please, you don't have to call me that."
"Alpha Marvin, it's good to see you again," Alexander said, shaking my hand.
"You as well, Alpha Alexander."
"Where's my mom?" Julia wanted to know.
"Her and Beth are on their way to my office as we speak."
"We have a lot to tell you," Julia said, as we walked back up the stairs. "It's so strange being back here knowing I don't have to avoid Logan or Gregory anymore."
"You have no idea," I joked. "It's still surreal to have people calling me Alpha. I really thought I was going to die in that dungeon."
"I'm so sorry for what happened to you. All you were trying to do was protect me."
"Listen, I don't regret one single thing I did in my time as the Beta of this pack. Helping you was one of the best things I have ever done." We met Sandra and Beth halfway down the hall to my office. Sandra ran at Julia and pulled her into a tight hug. "I'll never get over the fact that I'm able to do that again," Sandra told her.
"Just wait until I tell you everything that's happened to me." All of us walked into my office and took seats where we could. Logan had left this place with very little furniture.
"Why don't the two of you fill us in on everything that happened after you managed to escape," I told them.
"I guess we should start after my mom took down the wolf that came after me. He managed to hit me with the knife in my back, but I still ran for a while. Finally passing out at some point."
"That's when I found her in the woods right inside our territory. I knew instantly she was my mate, so I took her to our hospital where our Dr. patched her up."
"When I woke up, I thought I was back in October Moon for a second, until the doctor told me where I was. Once I saw Alex, I knew he was my mate but was confused because I had just rejected Logan."
"It took her a little time, but she warmed up to my charm eventually," Alexander joked. Julia smiled sideways at him, rolling her eyes. It was nice to see her so happy with someone. She had never been treated so nicely by a man her age. They continued with their story, until they got to a new development that happened just this morning.
"We were hanging out with Hannah and Elijah when we caught the smell of rogues. Logan, Tyler, and lan all appeared from the trees ready for a fight."
"They came back?" Sandra asked.
"They did, they wanted revenge for what we did."
"I'm going to assume if you're here, it didn't go their way?" I said.
"No, they're all dead. Logan came with the intention of killing me, but taking on three Lycan's and an Alpha wolf didn't go the way he thought."
"I'm sorry you had to do that, sweetheart," Sandra told Julia.
"Thanks mom. I'm just happy it's finally all over and I never have to worry about them coming after us again."
"Have you heard anything from Cornelia?"
"No, have you?"
"Nothing, I don't know if that's good or bad news."
"Do you know the name of her coven?" Julia asked.
"If I remember correctly, she said it was the High Noon Cove."
"I've never heard of that coven before," Julia remarked.
"I haven't either, but their hatred and fear of wolves might have something to do with that."
"Julia, we have books in our pack library all about witches and magic. There has to be something about her coven in those books," Alexander told her. "You think so?" She asked.
"What are you thinking?" I asked.
"I was thinking, if I could go to her coven maybe I could convince them to let her go or keep her position."
"Do you really think that's a good idea? Walking into a coven who hates wolves?"
"I don't know, but how am I supposed to just leave her when she did everything, she could to protect me?" Everyone fell silent in the room, not knowing what to say.
"I think we should try something," Alex finally said. "I think you deserve the right to talk to her and hear her side of the story as to why she left you."
"I think you do too," I told her. "You deserve the right to know where you came from and what happened between her and your birth father."
"I wish we could help you with your research, but there's no books here that would help."
"That's okay, I'm sure Crystal Sky has plenty."
"Julia, I would like to welcome you back as a member of October Moon. So you can mind link myself and your mother if you'd like."
"I'd like that," she said, smiling.
"I, Alpha Marvin Lee, welcome you, Julianna Parker, back as a member of the October Moon wolf pack."
"I accept your invitation to join October Moon as a pack member." I knew it worked because I felt an instant connection of a new pack member.
"It worked right?" I asked her.
"Yes, yes it did."
"Alpha Marvin, is there anything else you need from us?" Alexander asked. "We have a lot to do if we're going to research the High Noon Coven and prepare for the elders to come." "The elders are coming to your pack?" Sandra asked.
"Yes, I've asked them to hold a trial for my mother. I want them to be the ones to decide her punishment."
"No, Alpha Alexander. Thank you for coming and telling us what happened to the two of you. I hope all goes well for you with your mother."
"Thank you, and please let us know if you need our help with your pack in any way. Here's my number," Alexander said, handing me a piece of paper. "I know it's going to take some time for you to get your footing, and my pack is here to help you." "Thank you, Alpha," I said, standing up and shaking his hand.
"Let me know when you're having your Luna ceremony," Sandra said to Julia, giving her another hug.
"You think I wouldn't invite my own mother?" she asked sarcastically. Everyone walked Julia and Alexander out of the pack house and waited as they drove away.
"You really think she's gonna be okay going to that coven?" Sandra asked.
"It seems like a big risk for her to take," Beth added.
"I know, but if that's what she feels she has to do, I support her. She's a Luna now, which means she has to stick to the decisions she makes."
"I just don't want anything to happen to her. Cornelia seemed to think the elders would kill her if they found out about her," Sandra remarked.
"Maybe she can replace another way then. Alexander's not going to let her put herself in any danger." We stood in silence for a moment before Sandra spoke.
"Marvin, the three of us have a lot of work to do getting this pack back in order."
"Let's get started then." The three of us exchanged a knowing look, before turning around and going back into the pack house to plan out what we wanted to do first.
