Chapter 35

Blake was in my fourth period class and he made sure to walk in late so that he can make an entrance. All the girls were giggling at him and his friends wanted to know what the heck was wrong with him. He just gave me a wink and made sure to sit right next to me. I think the teacher was getting very upset because she couldn’t keep the class quiet or sitting down to listen to her. She finally gave up and assigned reading along with the questions at the end of the chapter. No one even bothered to start the reading when they could watch Blake get picked on by his friends. I just kept to myself until one of his stupid jock friends had to drag me into it.

“Blake, why would you give up on the hot cheerleader a*s for her? I mean does she even put out? And to share her?” No clue which guy said it but he sounded ignorant so I didn’t really care to get to know his name.

Before Blake could respond another one shouted out something along the line of me being good enough in the sack to share me could he get an application and that is when I saw Blake go leaping across the desks to punch that guy in his face. You didn’t need super hearing to know something cracked hard enough we all felt it. The first guy jumps on Blake to defend the other jackass while the teacher is yelling for them to stop. I just stay seated since Blake was taking care of business but if any of the others wanted to join in on taking out my mate Id have to show them who the stronger s*x was.

“Hey b***h. Get up. I think it is time to take the trash out.” One of the freshman cheerleaders had shoved her way to my desk and spit on me while talking trash. I just looked up at her and growled. She freaked out which is what I wanted and I laughed.

“Go sit your easy a*s down. Let Blake take care of the losers before he comes back to me. “ I winked over at Blake while he was getting the last punch in before standing up. I swear everyone thinks they are big and bad but when it comes down to it no one actually wants to fight.

Thursday and Friday passed without any drama or issues with other wolves so in my book they were great days. We searched the houses from top to bottom probably more than we should but didn’t really replace a lot. We didn’t realize that the gammas are definitely as power hungry as the old alpha and we figure that they would be back at some point to challenge for the alpha position. I doubted they would come back alone so I had the pack making sure everyone was having at least a training a day even if it was a short session. Friday night we made sure to pack everything we might need just in case we had to stay the night at the other pack house Saturday night. I had explained to my mother about what we were doing at that pack house and what we would be doing at the other one so she was the one that suggested just staying where I was. I think she also wants me make sure this mate Bond works with all three of them. I know she will be behind me on whatever decision I make but as a witch she thinks you should honor any type of blessing.

We had called the pack on Friday a few times but no one had answered. I was worried but the beta mentioned they could be busy with getting the pack in order or even dealing with repercussions of no alpha being present. I made sure to set my alarm for even earlier so we could get there to handle business. We planned to stay until early afternoon on Sunday so we made sure to pack the night before. My parents were worried about me and how I would handle it all since it still is new to me. What if the part of the pack that stayed behind didn’t care that I beat the alpha. My mates made sure to comfort her and tell her they would keep her safe.. like I was a weak duckling. They are lucky mom was around of Blue would of smacked the crap out of them.

When we reached the pack it was like something huge had ripped through everything we could see. Buildings were either completely tore down or missing walls, the ground was uprooted all over the place, and you could smell b***d. You could barely sniff out a wolf so I started freaked out a little bit. Did they all leave and leave this destruction because of me winning against the alpha or did something happen here? They still haven’t answer phone calls all the way here so I knew something had to be up but I was just hoping it was something small. We slowly got out of the car and of course my mates tried to keep me between all of them but I just shove them out of the way. I was not this weak little porcelain girl they kept trying to make me out to be when they knew I had moves and could kick people’s booty. I caught a flicker of movement to my right so that’s the way I headed. We have parked farther down so we didn’t have the look of the pack house until we walked up to it. It was still standing strong thank goodness but you can tell that there had been a big fight all around it. To the left you can see all the new freshly dug and filled Graves. The front door slammed and it made me jump. From the smell of him he was the beta and he was not looking too happy.

“When did you guys get here? It sure wasn’t when we needed you. You’re supposed to be the next Alpha but you’ve already let us down. You were supposed to just come back after you took care of things with the other pack.” His voice radiated frustration and loss when he spoke. I could feel the anger radiating off him and I saw his wolf in his eyes. He wanted to shift and challenge me but they both knew I would win.

“I have no idea what happened here and I’m so sorry. I literally turned 18 the day that you’re Alpha challenged me and my claims. He came for my parents and then he came from me even when I showed him my true heritage. The wolves that came back here must have told you that I had things that I needed to get done as a royal and told you what all happened. Even if they didn’t you knew what pack I was dealing with alongside yours so why didn’t you call us?” I knew he wasn’t going to like that answer but it was all I had. I could feel blue trying to push her way through so that she could take down this petty beta but I know it wasn’t the answer to it. “What happened here? Where are all of the pack members?”

“Where are all the pack members? Well let’s see a third of them didn’t want a female Alpha because they’re chauvinistic jerks so they left when I told them too. Had I known some of them were going to be petty and tell this clan or group of vampires that we were without an alpha I wouldn’t have been so fast moving to get rid of them. But I also didn’t know it would take you this long to get back here or I would have kept my mouth shut and took over the pack.” He growled that last part out and it made my hackles rise. Trying to take over a pack without defeating the current Alpha was against pack law and he damn well knew it. “And to make matters even better last night we had a visit from the vampires and they killed half of our pack. I’m sure you saw the graves to your left. My wife is one of those pack members that I lost and it’s all your fault.” I could see his claws growing and the fur sprouting from his skin so I knew this was going to go badly no matter what I did or said. He needed someone to blame and he needed someone to take all of his pain out on. I just wish I was that person that would allow back to happen but he should have stuck to beating the crap out of gym equipment.

“Listen I know you’re doing your best not to shift and let your wolf out because you don’t want to fight me. I don’t want to fight you because I know I will win and that’s not what you need right now. I know that you’re angry and that you are hurt but I did not send the vampires here. Your so-called pack members chose to send vampires here knowing that people would be killed and injured. They chose to be traitors to our kind and when I replace out which ones did it THEY WILL DIE BY MY HANDS. I am sorry that you lost your mate and if there was anything that I could do to bring her back I would but I cannot. What I can do it’s have a meeting with all of you to decide if you want to stay here and rebuild which I will do along with my mates or you all can move to my other pack and restart your lives there. I know what it’s like to lose someone even when you’re young because my parents died fighting to save us against the vampires and witches. They knew they wouldn’t live so they gave me to their friends to keep safe and as soon as I’m able to I’m going to take on every last vampire and witch until we are back in our rightful places as wolf shifters. I don’t care what it takes and I hope that you have that same fire in your soul to get revenge for your wife on our joined enemy.” Blue with pushing herself through my eyes and I know that he felt that power along with that conviction of what I was saying. He had tears streaming down his face and I had noticed that my cheeks were wet for my own tears. I meant every word I said because this kind of devastation never okay for unwarranted reason. My mates felt how out of control this could go so they made sure to put a hand on me wherever they could reach to help calm us down.

“Okay. I will place the blame I’m the ones you truly deserve it when you replace out the pack members that betrayed our kind I will be joining you and spilling their b***d. For now let’s get you three inside so you can meet the rest of the pack and we can offer them the choices that you presented. After that we can do a tour of the land and go from there.” He moved back to open the door and headed inside. I was just hoping this wasn’t an ambush because we really couldn’t afford to keep losing wolves for no reason.
