Chapter 56

It was a blast just to hang out with someone other than my mates and not focus on the guilt from leaving my mom in her hospital bed. I had been texting the rest of the Fab four throughout the last two or three weeks giving them updates on what I could share with them. I think they were upset with me that we hadn’t met up more but there was just so much to do. I told them we would take a day this week to hang out. We could do whatever they wanted and of course they mentioned an all day and all night affair including a dance club. This was definitely going to go over well with my mates but I had to make it up to my friends.

One of them was a witch, a student witch really, and I needed to speak to her about meeting with her cousin. I knew that they were good witches, so they stayed out of all the drama and politics. They were small enough they couldn’t afford to get into the middle of it because one side would completely wipe them out of existence. I think if we spoke to them and convinced them to move on to pack lands, we can work something out that would benefit both wolves and witches.

Sandra knew where we were going so she chose my outfit. She had brought a few of her

things to add some flare to it. She chose a dark blue baby doll cropped top

with skinny jeans and boots. She wanted to switch out my necklace but I told

her I couldn’t. It was from my birth mother and she understood. So she added

some of her dangly earrings and beaded bracelets. I could tell they weren’t

spelled to expand so if I had to shift they would break. I warned her about it but

she just waved her hand at me like it didn’t matter. She did a fish tail braid

for my hair and light make up. She kept the conversation going for both of us

which I felt bad for but I felt like a computer that had too much data put in

at the same time and it was overheating.

“Ok girl. Let’s go down and let these boys drool over their mate.” Sandra winked at

me while the other girls barked and cat called me. It made me blush and it

lifted my spirits.

“Let’s do it. I am glad you all came over and helped out. I needed my spirit lifted

and you all did the trick.” I opened the door to head out.

“Now you just need the twins to bring you to other kinds of heights.” She fake

growled at me and I playfully shoved her backwards. They were all cackling

while they packed up their stuff.

I could hear my mates in the kitchen, and I headed straight there. I had to walk

a bit slower since I was walking in heels and we were not on the best of terms.

I can’t believe I hadn’t broke my ankle from these damn things in the past. I

was looking at my feet when I walked in and didn’t notice it go silent. I

finally stopped in front of the island. I looked up to see them all staring at

me like I was the last chicken leg and they were all starving.

“Hey guys. What do you think?” I did a quick twirl for them to look over the whole

outfit. Normally, I was a confident girl but too many things were weighing me

down.

“YOU BOYS BETTER TELL HER SHE LOOKS LIKE A GODDESS OR THE BEST PIECE OF WHITE

CHOCOLATE YOU HAVE SEEN! I WILL RIP YOU A NEW BUTT HOLE IF YOU DON’T!” Sandra

yelled before shutting the door on their way out. Crazy b***h.

“Umm.. What she said. I love white chocolate and I think it was all because of you.”

Knox winked at me as he walked up to me and kissed me on the cheek.

“All I get is a friend k**s? Is this a date or friends hanging out? I can go

change.” I teased him.

He growled and it made me smirk. He reached out and grabbed me around my waist pulling me close to him. He lightly licked my bottom l*p and I felt those tingles all over. He kissed me deeply making me lose my breath in the best of ways before stepping back.

“Better?” He knew the answer before asking anything by the was he was smirking. It was

worth it since I couldn’t even focus on anything else just yet.

“Ryder. You always look amazing especially in one of our arms, but tonight you look ravishing.

It is wasted on those two. Come back to bed with me.” Blake winked from across

the island. The twins gave him a glare and he laughed.

“Boys. Now stop that. You have to learn to share outside of the bedroom before we can

share in the bedroom.” I warned them. That got their attention. I laughed and

nodded my head letting them know I meant it.

“Ok, enough of that. We have people to do and things to meet… what.. I meant things

to do and people to meet.” Kane spoke as he grabbed my hand and his brothers

before pulling us out of the kitchen. I could hear all the guys laughing at his

mistake but it made me feel good that I could cause that with just a

suggestion.

They ended up taking me to the Mexican restaurant in town and I’m glad they picked

somewhere that I was comfortable at. I would have hated to go to a really fancy

restaurant because it makes me feel guilty purchasing anything that’s super

expensive. Especially if someone else is paying for it.

Their dad was already seated and waiting for us. He gave me the biggest smile and hug when we made it over to him. Kane went to sit down on the bench with his dad but he was denied. His dad had saved it for me. Eat that, boys. Blue was laughing so hard she fell over.

“Thank you!” I said as I scooted in and watched the boys fight over the inside part of their bench seat. “Are they always like this?”

“Oh, yes. Let me tell you a story..” He started out saying and followed with several great stories that had the boys blushing.

I definitely got some good material to hold against them and halfway through the

night the boys were so red from the stories their dad told them. I did replace out

that Knox loves anything to do with working with his hands so he likes to work

on cars, he likes to build things, and he really likes sports. Kane is

definitely more of the bad boy which I got that vibe from him from the very

beginning. He rides motorcycles, likes to drag race, and has an obsession with

leather jackets. They both were very respectful to the staff at the restaurant

which spoke volumes for them to me.

The conversation came so easy and Blue kept purring when they boys flirted. She got naughty enough I had to cough a few times to cover the sound up so the guys wouldn’t hear me. Their dad smiled slyly beside me when it happened but I just ignored that he knew what Blue was planning for tonight. I wanted to be able to actually finish the date before taking them back to my room.

The boys walked their dad to his car and it made my heart melt even more for them.

He didn’t need the help but they wanted to protect him. Of course, they

wouldn’t let me hang out alone so I hung back holding Knox’s hand while Kane

spoke with this dad. Some news came from the palace workers and Jared may have

to go back sooner than the thought. He told me we would start lessons in the

morning to see what I could do and he had books on each subject from different

royals who had that skill. I was just grateful I wasn’t going through it all

alone.

When we got back to the twins car Kane opened the door for me and before I got in I

kissed him. It was just a soft sweet k**s but the tingles that it sent down my

spine were amazing. I could hear the sounds of huffing that Knox was making

because he was jealous so after we all got in the car I leaned over and kissed

Knox.

I know that a lot of people who aren’t shifters would be very concerned for me to be with five guys but it just felt right. Even if we weren’t fated mates I knew these guys would be some of my best friends. Ones that I could get in tons of trouble with a smile on my face and the other who could teach me so many things that I could be so independent. I couldn’t wait to spend more time with them. We took the long way back so that we could keep talking and they had a movie night planned for all of us we got back. I loved that they included the other guys instantly and it calmed my nerves on this not working.
