Chapter 230 Stephanie, Are You Wishing to Die?

Children were always curious.

Aiden couldn't resist the temptation and discreetly moved a few steps forward. "Who are you? How do you know my parents? Why do I not know you?"

"I am... Well, why don't you take a guess? Your father and I are friends."

Stephanie struggled for a while in her heart. For such a young child of about three years old, would telling him about his parents' divorce trigger him?

Should I tell him that I'm Elias' new wife? Will the child accept it?

At the sight of Aiden's cute eyes, Stephanie's heart suddenly softened. Matters between adults should never concern children.

However, when she thought of Elias' indifference and heartlessness, she was furious. If it had not been for Elias, Crispin could have escaped instead of being locked up by her own father again. "Are you Daddy's colleague?" The naive Aiden asked after thinking for a long time.

It was always because Amanda had introduced Simon as her colleague.

Stephanie smiled because the child knew the word 'colleague', so she couldn't help but pat his little head. "I'm not your father's colleague. I'm—"

Before she could even finish speaking, a man's sullen voice suddenly rang in the air from behind. "Stephanie Allegra, what are you doing?! Stay away from my son!"

Stephanie's body froze as her expression fell. This... This is Elias' voice.

Aiden looked behind her with a bright smile and rushed over. "Daddy!"

She rose to her full height and turned to see Aiden happily pouncing on Elias' legs.

Elias effortlessly carried the child in one arm and revealed his gentle, doting side while addressing the child. It was a side that Stephanie had never seen before.

As it turns out, Elias has a gentle side...

Stephanie liked Crispin because of his gentle nature. She disliked Elias' cold, heartless behavior.

However, it seemed that it was not just indifference. She was just not the subject of Elias' enthusiasm and care.

"Daddy, let's go home and ask Mommy to eat," Aiden said as he latched onto the man's neck.

"Okay. Go and play with Mr. Yacob. I'll quickly join you guys. Let me have a word with that lady, alright?" Elias instructed while maintaining a doting expression toward his son. Aiden glanced at Stephanie, who was standing there, before saying, "Daddy, are you well-acquainted with her? Don't you like Mommy the best? Why do you still know other ladies?" Elias couldn't help but laugh and lightly flicked his son's nose. "Sneaky child, have you been spying on your father? I don't know her that well. We're just colleagues."

"But she says that she knows you. She even knows Mommy's name! She asked me to guess the relationship that you have with her."

Children never lied; they merely told the truth.

When Elias heard this, his expression suddenly changed before he promptly smiled at his son. "Go and play with Mr. Yacob. I'll come over in a short while."

Then, he handed Aiden to Yacob, who was behind them.

Yacob took the child, and he cast Stephanie a helpless glance.

Stephanie has finally crossed Mr. Winters' limits. Aiden is a hard limit, and no one dares to cross it.

After Yacob took the child and left, Elias' expression became solemn as he approached Stephanie.

Meanwhile, Stephanie remained where she was.

She felt frightened at the sight of Elias' expression. He had a strong aura, as if he could control everything.

She couldn't help swallowing her saliva due to her nervousness, and she grabbed her skirt tightly.

However, when she thought of the imprisoned Crispin, she became so angry that she even had the urge to kill Elias.

"Stephanie, are you wishing for death?" the man growled through gritted teeth.

She smiled instead. "That's right. I am wishing for death. Since you refuse to keep to your promise, then I don't have to keep mine either."

"You even dare to talk about promises? What right do you have? I didn't rescue Crispin for you, huh? Go and f*ck yourself!" Elias resisted the urge to strangle Stephanie at that moment. No one was allowed to touch his son.

"How dare you mention it, Elias?! I asked you to locate Crisp and rescue him. Who asked you to send him over to my house? You know that my dad wants him to get lost. You-"

Before she could finish her words, he interrupted her, "I did not locate Crispin. He was personally handed over by your father. Do you know why he did this?"

Stephanie froze, and it took her a long while before she could recover her composure.

What? Did Dad hand Crisp over to him?

"Why did he do this? Why?" She could not understand her father's rationale for doing so.

Elias explained, "Your father looks down on Crispin, but he doesn't want to break your heart. That's why he asked me to take care of Crispin. Since the man is with me, I can only return him to you. Otherwise, if I say that I have sent him to a safe place, would you believe me?"

Stephanie fell silent. Does this mean that Elias is a good person and I have wronged him?

She noticed how easily he could coax her.

The man sneered. "Save your own man yourself. I don't have that obligation. I've already done my best to send you to him. What do you mean by approaching my son now? I'll have you know that if you let my son know about my divorce from his mother, I'll definitely make you pay for it. When the time comes, I'll just end Crispin's life."

"How dare you? You are sadistic!"

Although it was merely a harsh sentence, Stephanie felt that Elias had the ability to do what he said.

Elias was a cruel person, especially when it came to protecting his own son.

"Then, don't overstep the boundaries again. Remember, once our plan is executed, I'll take my shares back, and you can go ahead to marry Crispin. We won't owe each other anything. However, if you continue to cause trouble for no apparent reason to the point where we can't achieve our goals... I'm not joking around. Your father is an experienced fox who will notice even the slightest mishap." At that, Elias left without looking back.

Stephanie watched the tall, handsome man's retreating figure as he left, and she was suddenly confused. Should she continue to listen to Elias, cooperate well with him, and ensure that the plan is perfectly executed? Or should she tell her father about Elias' plan?

"Elias, I want to know where Crisp is being imprisoned now." She rushed over and asked the man.

Elias still did not look back as he announced, "You have to remember that your father is a businessman, not an assassin. So, he won't hurt Crispin. That's the bottom line."
