Chapter 536 Are You Particularly Afraid of Me Misunderstanding You?

Amanda couldn't shake off the feeling that Casey was implying something and yet wouldn't reveal anything. Is she expecting me to guess? But how can I possibly figure it out?!

At that, she shrugged in resignation and returned to Elias' office, ready to have lunch with him as soon as he finished his meeting.

She waited in his office for over two hours before he returned. When Elias pushed open the office door, he saw Amanda sitting on the guest area couch, flipping through a financial magazine with boredom. The irritation he had accumulated during the meeting dissipated upon seeing his beloved Amanda, and he smiled.

"Were you waiting for me? Hungry?"

Elias walked over and sat beside her, his arm naturally encircling her waist as he took the magazine from her hands.

Amanda met his intense, dark gaze as she replied, "That Miss Carter is quite strange. She told me not to let go of you and said otherwise, I would regret it. I feel like she had a hidden agenda in what she said."

"Really? Did she say that?"

Elias found Casey's words quite interesting. She not only helped clarify the misunderstanding but also spoke well of him.

Amanda nodded, wanting to gauge Elias' reaction.

Unexpectedly, he chuckled. "Well, she's absolutely right. You should cherish me properly, or you might regret it."

"But her words seemed to imply something else. She seemed to suggest that she wasn't your 'outside woman' and that you have other women outside. So, what I should be wary of isn't her." Amanda's expression was serious as she spoke as if she had already gathered evidence.

Meanwhile, Elias' charming smile gradually faded. Amanda's teasing words seemed to have led them into an unexpected impasse, leaving him feeling somewhat helpless.

As Elias' charming simile gradually faded, Amanda's teasing words seemed to have led them into an unexpected impasse, leaving him feeling somewhat helpless. Darling, you're not joking with me, are you? What do you mean by that?"

Amanda looked into his deep, dark eyes and couldn't help but laugh. "You really are nervous, huh? Are you so afraid that I might misunderstand you?"

"No sh*t!"

Seeing her laugh, Elias finally breathed a sigh of relief. Otherwise, following their usual pattern of arguments, who knew how long it would take to make things right with Amanda?

Amanda chuckled even more at his reaction. "Really? Then I should argue with you more often so that you can spoil me."

Well, maybe we should argue more often. That way, you'll be more inclined to pamper me."

In the next moment, Elias simply captured her head and kissed her passionately, leaving a lingering and fervent kiss before pressing his lips to her forehead. "Haven't I pampered you enough, Amanda? I'm almost at the point of spoiling you completely."

"Hmph, that sounds good, but your missus is hungry now. Do you

care?"

Elias chuckled indulgently and pulled her up from the couch. "Let's go then. I'll take you to

eat."

However, Amanda held onto his hand. "You have another meeting this afternoon. Let's not. go out. We can just have something in the company cafeteria. After eating, you can take a nap, or else, how will you have the energy to yell at people in the afternoon?"

Yell at people?

Elias pulled her into his arms and lightly tapped her nose. "Who told you I yell at people?"

"Do I need someone to tell me? I passed by the meeting room earlier and heard passionately scolding someone inside."

The man smiled without saying a word, kissed her forehead, and then led her out of the office to the company cafeteria for lunch.

On her way back, Casey's mood plummeted to an all-time low. She was torn about what to do. If she wanted to regain custody of Dulcie, she had to help Symeon win over Amanda. But Amanda was Elias' wife and Elias was her savior. How could she repay kindness with betrayal?

Her heart was in turmoil, and despite reminding Amanda several times, it seemed like Armanda didn't understand her hints. Did Amanda have an affair with Symeon? Because it appeared that Amanda was keeping something from Elias. Thinking about this, Casey felt Elias was innocent in all this.

Casey let out a deep sigh, stopped in her tracks, and looked back at the Winters Enterprise building.

Just then, her phone rang. She picked it up and saw it was Dulcie calling. She had taught Dulcie her phone number just the day before, and she didn't expect a call so soon.

Thinking of her adorable little Dulcie, a smile formed on her lips as she answered, "Dulcie."

"Pretty Miss, can you come over and play with me? I'm so bored all alone, and Daddy has gone to work. He won't be back until late."

"Of course, I'll come right over."

After hanging up the phone, Casey was filled with anticipation. She hailed a cab and told the driver, "Galaxy Bay, please."

She eagerly looked forward to spending time with that little bundle of joy. She had missed. three whole years of Dulcie's life, and now that Dulcie was three years old, Casey was determined to make up for lost time.

After arriving at Galaxy Bay and getting out of the car, Casey couldn't help but smile and walked toward the villa. Just as she entered, another car slowly pulled into the villa, and Symeon stepped out of the

car.

Initially, he hadn't planned to come back that day, but suddenly, he remembered that Dulcie was alone at home for dinner. As Dulcie's father, he felt obligated to have dinner with her. After all, children needed companionship.

He remembered when he was a child, he wanted his parents to be with him every day, but he could only see his father once every ten days or half a month, and his mother was always sad and had no mood to play with him.

He remembered how he used to long for his parents' company when he was a child, but he could hardly see his father once every ten days or so. His mother was always gloomy and had no interest in playing with him. He couldn't let his own child go through the same experience.

As soon as Symeon entered the house, he heard laughter and joyful voices from Dulcie and Casey inside. That woman's here too?

Symeon frowned unhappily. It seemed that Casey was truly determined to regain custody, or else why would she come so often?

He had never heard Dulcie's happy laughter like this in front of him before.

Symeon walked step by step into the dining room, hearing Dulcie say to Casey, "If only you were my mommy. Miss Amanda would be nice too. I like both of you." Amanda... After hearing that name, Symeon's steps came to a halt. So, Dulcie also thinks that Amanda would be a good mother for her... Huh, too bad she can't...

He used to believe without a doubt that Amanda was the mother of his child, only to replace out in the end that it was all a joke.

Inside the dining room, Casey, looking at Dulcie's innocent and carefree smile, couldn't help. but smile herself. But upon hearing Dulcie's words just now, she felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. Does Dulcie also think Amanda is the perfect mother for her?

"Dulcie, do you really like Miss Amanda?"
