Chapter 554 Come Home With Me Now
After seeing Casey enter the kitchen, Dulcie looked back at her father sitting on the couch and furrowed her little brows. "Daddy."
"Yeah?"
The man playing with his phone didn't pay any attention to his daughter's expression.
Then, Dulcie walked up to him and climbed onto the couch, leaning against him. "Daddy, you can't just sit here. You should go help Miss Casey. That way, she will like you more."
Like me?
Symeon put down his phone and looked at his daughter. "Why should I try to make her like me?"
"If she likes you, she can live with us and be my mommy. Next week, there's a parent-child sports event at the kindergarten. The teacher said that parents should bring their children to participate, I want Miss. Casey to be my mommy..."
So, that was the reason.
The little girl was quite intelligent.
All this buildup was to let Casey attend the parent-child sports event as her mother.
Symeon lightly flicked Dulcie's forehead. "I can go alone and participate in all the events without her help. Understand?"
"It's not the same. But... I also want my mommy and daddy to participate together. Aiden's parents will be there too, and I want the same. Dulcie was on the verge of tears. She was anxious about why her father couldn't understand her thoughts.
After listening to her words, Symeon seemed to understand her feelings.
The man's large hand gently touched Dulcie's fluffy little head and said, "Alright, I understand. I will talk to Miss Casey."
"Yay! Daddy, you're the best! You go and help her now. Otherwise, she won't help us. It's a mutual thing." Dulcie hugged her father's arm and swayed it back and forth, putting on an extremely adorable face. Symeon felt his heart completely melting upon looking at his cute daughter. With no choice but to get up he walked toward the crowded kitchen.
In the meantime, Dulcie watched her father's back and laughed happily. When the parent-child sports event arrives, I will have both Mommy and Daddy with me. Let's see who dares to make fun of me for not having a mommy. Hmph...
In the kitchen.
Casey was busy washing and preparing vegetables when suddenly, she turned around and saw the tall figure standing outside the kitchen door, about to lower his head and come in.
She instinctively furrowed her brows. "Why are you coming inside? This kitchen is already small, and I can barely turn around with you here."
<
Frowning, the man rebuked, "Do you think I want to come in? Dulcie told me to come in here. She said she wanted me to help you."
How thoughtful of Dulcie, Casey thought happily. Dulcie is indeed my good daughter.
"Thank you, but I don't need your help. You can leave. I'll be done soon. I might be even busier with your help, and you don't even know how to cook." Regarding this point, she had every right to criticize the man who always seemed all high and mighty. He probably didn't even know what was in the fridge.
"Dulcie asked me to help you because she has something to ask of you. Let me ask you on her behalf. Whether you agree or not is up to you."
Symeon didn't care because he could handle all the activities at the parent-child sports day with Dulcie by himself.
Puzzled, Casey asked, "What is it?"
"There's a parent-child sports event at the kindergarten next week, and Dulcie wants you to attend as her mother because all the other kids have both their parents there. So, if you want to go, you can go. If you don't, then forget it."
After Symeon finished speaking, he planned to turn and leave the kitchen.
Casey was stunned for a second and said, "Of course I want to go. I am her mother, after all. What do you mean by attending as her mother?”
The man glanced at her and retorted, "Let's talk about it when you remember everything. You're not qualified for that title yet."
Following that, Casey fell into silence, puzzled as to why she had no memories of it at all.
One hour later.
Casey finished cooking the dishes and placed them on the dining table. Since the house was so small, the dining room was also small, so they simply ate on the coffee table in the living room. They barely managed to fit in with the tall man sitting on the couch.
Dulcie was eating happily and without stopping. She kept eating the dishes and behaving extremely well.
Upon seeing that, Symeon couldn't help but say, "Is it that delicious? The nanny at home is a certified chef but I've never seen you enjoy the food this much."
Dulcie unhappily replied, "It's different. Miss Casey's cooking tastes like home, while the nanny's cooking tastes like restaurant food. It's not the same."
Happy to receive such praise, Casey continued to feed Dulcie bite after bite.
Meanwhile, Symeon didn't eat much, either because he wasn't hungry or because he wasn't used to her cooking.
After dinner, they didn't stay long before Symeon had to take Dulcie home. But upon mentioning they were going home, Dulcie lowered her head sadly, looking very aggrieved.
<
"Daddy, can I stay at Miss Casey's tonight? I'll be good and won't cause any trouble-"
The conversation was interrupted by Symeon's firm rejection. "No, you have to go home because you have school tomorrow, and she has to go to work."
"I can go to school by myself tomorrow. I don't need anyone to take me..."
Dulcie wanted to stay because going back meant sleeping alone in her own bed and listening to her father's emotionless, boring stories.
Symeon held her little hand and rejected her once again, "It's not up for negotiation. Do you think you're eighteen? We'll talk about it when you're eighteen. Now, come home with me. It's time to take a bath and go to bed."
After saying that, the man took Dulcie away.
While pouting, Dulcie looked at Casey with a grievance, waving her little hand. "Goodbye, Miss Casey. Can I come over tomorrow?"
"Of course you can. You're welcome to come over every day." Casey also wanted to keep Dulcie overnight, but the man obviously would disagree.
Later, Symeon carried Dulcie away with one hand while Dulcie kept waving her hand at Casey and then wiped away her tears. Her pitiful appearance almost broke Casey's heart.
It made her even more determined to take Dulcie back.
Back at home, she suddenly felt empty and could feel Dulcie's presence everywhere.
Casey couldn't help but shed tears, not knowing when she would be able to be with Dulcie every day.
That was unless Symeon gave up Dulcie's custody to her. Suddenly, she remembered the ambiguous scen she witnessed between Amanda and Symeon outside the study last time, which made her extremely uneasy. She even perceived these two individuals as despicable scoundrels who would harm others to satisfy their love.
That won't do!
She must ensure that Amanda voluntarily leaves Elias to prevent further harm to him. At least that way, h could gradually replace solace during the rest of his life.
