The Lawyer’s Romance in Law -
Chapter 577
Chapter 577 Are You Pleading With Me?
At the Lawrence Group's Cludan branch.
Inside the president's office.
At this moment, Symeon was engrossed in his work when his phone abruptly rang. He assumed it was an update regarding the surveillance repair.
However, upon answering the call, he discovered a text message from an unidentified number.
The message read. I am Casey. I am trapped in the Carter Family's basement. Please rescue me!"
Symeon's face paled instantly upon reading the message. He attempted to call back the unknown number, but it was switched off, and there was no response.
Could this message truly be from Casey?
If he went to search for her and failed to replace her, the Carter Family might report him to the police.
After some contemplation, Symeon decided to call Amanda. The call was promptly answered, and Amanda's voice echoed from the other end. "What's the status? Has the surveillance footage been recovered?"
"Not yet, but I received a peculiar text message from someone claiming to be Casey. She claims she's trapped in the Carter Family's basement and needs my help. How credible do you think this message is?" "Where are you currently? I'll come over immediately. Don't delete the message. Keep it."
Tm at the office."
"I'll be there shortly."
With that, she ended the call. Symeon reopened the text message and scrutinized it repeatedly.
His intuition suggested that this message could indeed be from Casey.
However, he couldn't comprehend the circumstances under which Casey had sent this message and why the phone was now unreachable.
Symeon dialed another number and commanded, "Trace the location of this number for me promptly:
"Understood, Mr. Lawrence."
After ending the call, Symeon reclined in his chair and was lost in deep thought.
After an indefinite amount of time, the landline rang. The secretary's voice echoed from the phone. "Mr. Lawrence, Miss Bailey is here to see you. "Let her in."
"Very well."
Shortly after, Amanda entered the office. Symeon rose from his seat and walked toward the guest area.
Amanda appeared anxious. "Let me see the message first."

He handed her the phone. After reading the message, she jotted down the phone number and intended to ask Elias for assistance in tracing the number. However, he interjected. There's no need. I've already initiated a trace. We should have the results soon."
"Understood."
Amanda finally settled down on the couch before expressing her thoughts. "I suspect Casey sent us the message using a stranger's phone. As for why she didn't call directly, there must be some reason. Regardless, her situation doesn't seem promising."
"Yes. If we confirm that the phone is located at the Carter Residence, we will go there directly to replace her." Symeon declared solemnly.
She nodded in agreement.
He then posed another question. "What if this message is a deliberate misdirection, and we don't replace Casey in the basement of the Carter Residence? Could the Carter Family press charges against us for trespassing? I'm unsure of the legal implications here, though."
"It's considered trespassing on someone else's property, and, yes, you could be detained," Amanda responded while furrowing her brows.
He chuckled. "So, we need to tread carefully. If we get caught, rescuing Casey will become even more challenging.
At that moment, his phone rang. After a brief conversation, he rose from his seat, retrieved his suit jacket. from behind his desk, and announced. "Let's go. It's confirmed. The phone signal originated from the Carter Residence."
Amanda also rose and exited the office alongside Symeon.
The duo arrived at the underground parking lot and slowly drove off.
Symeon found the situation amusing and glanced at Amanda. "Does Elias trust you enough to let you accompany me? Why didn't he come himself?"
"He's swamped with work these days. He doesn't have the time. I suggest you stop provoking him. You always cause him so much trouble. He barely has time to spend with his child now." Amanda's tone was laced with annoyance, but they were united in their mission to rescue Casey.
"Are you pleading with me? If you were a tad more sincere, perhaps I would consider.
"How much more sincere do you expect me to be? I'm here to rescue the mother of your child. Isn't that sincere enough?" She was growing increasingly frustrated with Symeon.
However, he retorted, "What I desire is for you to plead with me in front of Elias. I want to witness Elias embarrassed."
"Let's not go there. I refuse to undermine my husband's dignity." Amanda stated firmly before gazing out the car window.
Symeon was taken aback. He refrained from further comment and continued driying toward the Carter
Residence.
After approximately forty minutes, the car came to a halt outside the Carter Residence.

The pair exited the car and rang the doorbell. Once again, the butler answered the door.
This time, without waiting for the butler to announce their arrival, Symeon pushed open the door and entered with Amanda.
Dylan was taken aback. "Miss Bailey, w-what are you doing?"
"Mr. Sol, this doesn't concern you. I will explain to your boss. Amanda didn't wish to involve the innocent Dylan.
Symeon asked casually, "Where is your basement?"
"It's... It's downstairs over there. Why do you ask?" Dylan was visibly confused.
Symeon and Amanda made a beeline for the basement and completely disregarded Eleanor and Philip. who had just emerged.
Philip was flabbergasted by the scene, and he couldn't believe his eyes. These two individuals had just barged into his house, and Dylan didn't even attempt to stop them.
"What are you doing by intruding into someone else's house like this? If you don't leave, I'm calling the police!" Philip yelled.
Upon recognizing the two individuals, Eleanor became flustered. "Why are you here again?"
Philip turned to his wife with a puzzled expression. "Again? They've been here before? When? Why wasn't I informed?"
Symeon scoffed at Philip. "What would you know? Your daughter is missing, and you're oblivious. You're ignorant of everything. Even if your daughter were dead, you probably wouldn't know,"
"What nonsense are you spouting? How could my daughter be missing? You... Aren't you the man I saw outside Casey's rental house the other day? Why are you here?" Philip was utterly bewildered and clueless. about the situation.
Amanda finally spoke up. "Casey is in your house. She hasn't gone anywhere, and she's being held here against her will."
"What? Casey is at home? Where? Why haven't I seen her?"
Eleanor was in a state of panic. It seemed that these two individuals knew something.
She yelled furiously, "You two are trespassing. I'm calling the police!"
