The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa ) -
Chapter 46
Chapter 46
As soon as Stephanie entered the Lamborghini Veneno, the limited edition sports car shot off like an arrow.
“Hey, Leonard, slow down.” Stephanie fastened her seatbelt and gazed at the man in the driver’s seat.
Since he was driving, his exquisitely sculpted face was only half visible. Still, even half of his face could make Stephanie’s heart skip. She was in a good mood.
Today’s impromptu meeting made her feel that Leonard treated her differently. He ate all the shrimp Stephanie peeled and even protected her from Lisa. When they left, he ignored Lisa and made her get her own ride home.
“Stop coming to me whenever you have free time,” Leonard spoke indifferently. It was as if he had suddenly transformed into someone Stephanie did not recognize.
“Why?” Stephanie was stunned. “Leonard, don’t you mind Lisa? Didn’t you hear what she just said? She doesn’t mind me getting close to you since you two have feelings for each other. You don’t love her and will eventually get a divorce.”
“Even so, I’m married now.”
“I don’t care.” Stephanie’s eyes reddened, suddenly becoming emotional. “Some people may gossip if the news gets out, but I love you. I’ll go crazy if I lose you.”
Leonard was overwhelmed by the situation.
‘Do I even have feelings for Stephanie? I used to think she was pretty rational.’
“Steph, can you learn from Lisa? She’s several years younger than you but much more rational,” Leonard blurted.
Stephanie was shocked.
‘Did he just tell me to learn from Lisa, who comes from a humble background?’
“I want to learn from her, but emotional matters are beyond my control.” Stephanie tried holding Leonard’s hand as tears welled in her eyes.
“What are you doing? I’m driving.” Leonard snapped and pushed her away.
Stephanie remained silent.
“Besides, even if you don’t mind what others say, I do.”
Stephanie was utterly speechless.
‘I’m beautiful and talented. How did Lisa end up with someone like Leonard?‘
Although Leonard had treated Stephanie well in the past and often showered her with expensive gifts, their relationship had never gone beyond hand–holding. There were times Stephanie intentionally dressed sexy, hoping to spend the night with Leonard, even though he always refused.
At that time, Stephanie thought he was just doing so out of respect for her. However, she later realized he might not have felt the same about her.
Just then, Leonard spoke the truth. “Steph, I thought our families were a good match when I was with you. I believed you were a suitable wife then. I can’t understand how you feel now. Perhaps I will divorce Lisa, but that’ll be in the future. You don’t have to wait for me.”
Stephanie’s heart turned cold as her tears streamed down her cheeks.
Leonard heard her sobbing and subconsciously stepped on the gas.
