Chapter 66
Madison realized the situation did not favor her. She started to cry and grabbed her brother’s sleeve,
“Quince, you know it’s my 21st birthday today, right? I spent a long time preparing for it, but she ruined my cake. I was angry, but it wasn’t intentional. I just drank too much. Look, my whole body is bruised too. It hurts.”
She exposed her arm and showed various bruises.
Although Quince initially reacted to his sister’s actions with anger, his feelings quickly shifted after seeing her injuries. Leonard, look at this. Lisa attacked my sister out of rage as well. Let’s consider this even.”

Leonard looked at Quince sinisterly. “Protecting your sister is understandable, but there should be limits. Her unruly behavior results from your family spoiling her too much.”
Quince tried salvaging the situation. “Leonard, trust me, I’ll talk seriously with my sister once we’re home. I’ll make things right with the delivery girl, too.”
The police officer said, “It’s good if you’re willing to resolve this. The root of the problem lies with Madison, but Lisa was the one who started the fight and caused damage to the event hall.”
“Yes, my cake, the drinks, the tables and chairs-” Quince dragged his sister away before she could finish speaking.
The officers released Lisa once Leonard paid the fine and filled out the paperwork. It was 11 p.m., and the moonlight shone on the police station stairs, casting Leonard’s shadow on the ground.

Lisa kept her head down and looked at the phone she had just retrieved from the police.
Meanwhile, Leonard said into his phone, “Mom, go to bed. Don’t worry about me. I have something to do tonight.
“Come home earlier tomorrow and tell me what’s happening with Lisa-

Before Melissa finished speaking, Leonard hung up the phone and slid it into his pocket. Then he abruptly stopped in his tracks.
Lisa did not notice his pause and crashed into him. She accidentally bumped her bruised face into his back, causing her to gasp sharply in pain.
“So
you
do know how much it hurts. I assumed all you remembered was playing with your phone.” Leonard turned and looked at Lisa’s embarrassed face.
His expression grew severe. He never thought he would strike a woman.
“I’m messaging my friend who was involved in the incident. I don’t know how she’s doing after being taken to the hospital,” Lisa quietly explained without looking at Leonard.
Leonard silently watched her for a while, then asked, “Lisa, do you hate me?”
Lisa was puzzled. ‘Do I hate him?’
After some thought, she shook her head and said, “I don’t hate you. I used to dislike you, but you just bailed me out. Thank you for helping me tonight.”
