Chapter 79

“That’s right. You’re not dirty. They’re the ones with a dirty me ntality,” Lisa said softly. “Even if they posted it online, they’re the ones who will get criticized by netizens. Celine, don’t pay too much attention to it.

“It doesn’t matter if they’re rich, poor, or middle-class-every group has good and bad people. If I had to put people into groups, I’d say there are remarkable people and average people. The remarkable ones are usually down-to-earth, and talking to them is comforting.”

Celine was startled. “You’re right.”

“Let’s dig in,” Lisa said as she picked up her fork.

Halfway through the meal, she was notified about the start of the new semester. After closing the class group chat, she noticed a strange new number added to her contact list.

‘Leonard?’ Lisa suddenly remembered adding him early that morning.

A thought struck Lisa. “Celine, do you know which game your brother’s playing?”

“I think it’s called Mobile Legends.”

Lisa was overjoyed. “I saw Leonard playing that game this morning. He invested in the company that developed it. Your brother likely spent your money for skins, so maybe we can explain the situation to Leonard and get your money back.”

Celine’s eyes lit up. “But will Leonard be willing to help?”

Lisa was unsure since their relationship was not the best, but they did exchange contact information during their brief chat. She then reflected on the fact that the 2,500 dollars resulted from months of Celine’s hard work and savings.

“I mentioned treating him to a meal when I added him yesterday. That’s a good opportunity to discuss this. Even if we can’t recover the full amount, getting half back would still be a win.”

“If we can get the money back, I’ll split it with you.” Celine quickly replied.

“No, don’t worry about that. Just treat me to a meal,” Lisa said.

Lisa grabbed her phone and sent Leonard a message, knowing she had to approach him with the right attitude when asking

for a favor.

After the past night’s events, Lisa realized it was better to be enemies with people like Leonard than be friends. Fortunately, among her other qualities, she had thick skin.

Her message read, “Dear, are you up?”

She attempted to improve their relationship by addressing him as “dear”.

Leonard was sitting in the company’s cafeteria, having a meal with senior executives, when he noticed his phone vibrating on the table. Seeing the message from Lisa, he raised his eyebrows calmly.

Last night, they had agreed indirectly not to part ways. Leonard felt relief that Lisa had come to her senses and was taking the first step to get closer to him.

However, when he saw the words “dear,” his eyes widened.

‘Do all young girls address people with “dear” nowadays?’ The term made the distance between them feel too intimate for his liking.

Leonard had a sudden image of Lisa calling him “dear” in a flirty way while on the bed. He suddenly felt hot all over.

‘Da mn, she knows how to seduce me.’

“Mr. Leonard, why is your face suddenly so red? Is the air conditioning not working?” The vice president asked with concern.

Leonard coughed and said, “A little.”

Then he sipped on cold water before replying to her text. “I’m eating.” Lisa messaged, “I’m eating too. What a coincidence.”
