Chapter 83

Lisa then said, “She’s gotten so thin. If she keeps struggling, she might end up malnourished. I’m not insisting that you help, but I just want to see if it’s possible. Even a partial refund would mean a lot. But if it’s not possible, then it’s okay.”

Leonard found it somewhat amusing. “Is that it?”

“Yes, what do you think? Can it work?”

Leonard raised an eyebrow and asked, “Does your friend know her brother’s account number or even his ID?”

“She does.”

Realizing that he was going to help, Lisa nodded eagerly. “I’ll send it to you.”

After Lisa sent over the ID, Leonard took his phone and dialed the number of the game company’s representative to explain the situation.

A few minutes later, Leonard ended the call and told Lisa, “I spoke with the game company. Money was deposited into her brother’s account at the start of the month, so it’s been over 20 days.

“I asked them to cancel all skin purchases on his account. Usually, the money would be refunded automatically, but then it’s unlikely that her brother would return it to her.

“Instead, the company will transfer it to the local police station. Your friend can go there with her ID to claim it tomorrow.”

“That’s it?” Lisa blinked.

“It was that simple because of me,” Leonard said lightly. “According to company policy, minors can get a refund within a week. But since her brother is already 18, and it’s been a while since his purchase, they wouldn’t normally provide a refund. Tell your friend to be more careful next time.”

“I know. Thank you so much, Leonard,” Lisa sweetly uttered. “I’m genuinely grateful. We had our share of misunderstandings before, but now I realize that you’re a good person.”

“Alright, I’m not that heartless. Your friend was a pitiful sight,” Leonard said honestly. “Being poor is not a problem, but being both poor and lazy is.”

“I thought you looked down on poor people,” Lisa said in surprise. “You used to mock me for climbing the social ladder and falling into a money pit. You even said I wasn’t worthy of you.”

“I don’t look down on poor people. I used to-” Leonard paused, recalling something.

He quickly changed the topic. “Imagine waking up after a car accident to discover you’re married to a woman you’ve never met. Who could handle that? Besides, we didn’t know each other at all.”

“That’s true.”

The meal went smoothly for them, and they chatted calmly. Lisa had not expected to get along so well with Leonard and leave all the heated arguments behind.

Lisa learned that Leonard, who managed such a large publicly traded company, was knowledgeable and had a wealth of experience. As a rookie who barely entered society, she learned a lot from him.

They dined for over two hours without realizing it. Lisa got up to use the restroom after drinking a lot.

Leonard took advantage of the moment and went to pay the bill. He never let women pay, even though Lisa invited him to the

meal.

Leonard’s handsome face made the waitress’s heart race. She decided that even a conversation with him would be delightful. ” Sir, do you know what your girlfriend wrote on the love note before you came?”

‘Love note?’ Leonard froze,

“It’s posted on this wall.” The waitress pointed to the wall covered in sticky notes. It was a feature of the restaurant,

displaying photos of couples and the love messages they left behind.
