The speed of sound is directly proportional to temperature. Nick noticed this, only wanting to venture out if it was hot.
Looking back, she remembered thinking that The Sound Factory was safe, so she continued watching her son with a protective eye and a caring hand caressing her pistol. Watching as now, near the height of his abilities, her son began taking control. He sought out situations; a drunkard stumbling through the park would soon be straightened and sober by the clicks Nick would voice his way. Or how he was able to turn amorous couples into battling foes with a well-timed hum.
Once, when a young lady drew a knife, Nick didn’t stop the action, he allowed her to stab her beau and the smirk exhibited by Nick drew concern from his mom. He began searching for these types of violent crimes, thwarting rapes with a whistled grunt and a yelp would cause any gun wielding criminal to halt in his tracks and reverse their actions into a friendly wave and a positive nod toward Nick. And all the while he was surrounded by dogs.
