Amara Pov.

It’s been a week since we got back and everything is going great at school because I spend most of my time with my two besties, Happy and Sophie,

Home is still the same, nasty comments from my sisters and dirty looks from Richard but no one physically assaults me, Veronica is nice to me but she is stressing about the company but they have found investors so they have thrown a party here at home. I get ready in a black dress that Veronica gave me, it’s a long tight dress with sleeves.

I put my hair in a bun, leaving my neck bare, and a smile as a memory of Ahyan biting and sucking comes to mind. We haven’t spent too much time together after our trip but when we are in the same room, our stares are intense. I get the feeling he’s avoiding me. He doesn’t text or calls like he usually did and when he does it’s just to ask how am doing. Is it because we had s*x? And Rhudo has just vanished, I can’t feel her so I plan to see a doctor tomorrow. I miss her a lot.

Finally, I put my hair down and wear my heels. I go down and they are several people. Veronica is talking to a couple and looking charming as usual. Dad and Lisa are talking to two men.

I descend the stairs and I feel a few gazes at me. ” Amara!” Lisa chimes, a little too happy, and I quirk my eyebrows, is she smiling at me? something is fishy.

” Hi, Lisa?” I wave, unsure, not knowing how to react to this. I gasp when she grabs my arm and drags me towards Richard and the two men. I smile meekly at them and for the first time in a long time, Richard holds my shoulder. I feel my throat tighten with a strange emotion.

” Gentlemen, this is my daughter, Amara,” He says, smiling at me. All this is strange. I can tell the men are rogues from their purple eyes and I harsh memory from years ago plays, I shiver and step away from Richard. The two men are looking at me with l**t especially the one introduced as Waylen, he won’t even hide his desires. He is tall and good-looking, and his short brown hair is failing to his forehead. He extends his hand to me but I don’t shake it. He looks at Richard and asks,

” Richard, podemos hablor en tu oficina,” ( Can we talk in your office?) It was not a question, He only nods and leads him away, to my surprise, Lisa follows.

I scowl watching them, concerned Veronica comes to me. She pats my arm.

” You look bored,” she says, giggling. Someone has had too many margaritas.

” Are you okay?” I ask. She nods.

I notice the guests are leaving now, ” I’ll be going to Spain on a business trip for two weeks, I’ll leave tonight with a few partners,” She informs me. I nod, it will be terrible without her here.

We hug and I watch her go upstairs, I go to Lulu’s room before going to bed. After telling her about the party, I k**s her good night and go to my room, I’m startled when I reach the room as I notice a silhouette of a man. I back away softly

” Hey,” I let out a sigh as he comes into the light. How did he manage to get in here?

” Ahyan,” I breathe, going closer to him. He looks drunk and smells of booze, his eyes are a darker shade, almost looking red. He probably did drugs. He’s staggering so I help him to the bed.

We are silent, I can feel his steady heartbeat, he throws himself on my bed and pulls me along. We facing the ceiling, still quiet and I’m the one to break the silence.

” Are you avoiding me?” I ask softly.

” I saw you a few days ago with that human,” he says, sounding angry ” He was touching you, he even kissed you and you let him,”

I widen when I realize what this is, he’s jealous. I remember the day he’s talking about, Sophie, Tomas, and I went out for a movie but Tomas brought a male friend along, Jake. He got a little drunk and was touchy.

” We didn’t k**s,” I clarify, ” He almost did but I turned away, is that why you’ve been avoiding me?”

I raise my head to look at him.

He suddenly pulls me by my waist and our position is so that my back is pressed against his. He wraps an arm around me while inhaling my scent.

” I don’t want to talk about it,” He gruffs, his warm lips are against my skin as he leaves trail of k****s on my shoulder and I shiver. His k****s are not intense, they are light and sweet, after a while he stops but continues to caress my arm with his fingers.

We stay like that until I fall asleep.

When I wake up, I don’t feel too warm anymore, and even without even opening my eyes, I know he’s gone. A pang of sadness washes over me and a tear roll down my face, I hate that he is being distant. I pull the warm fleece he has covered me with up to my head and go back to sleep.

Ahyan Pov

I’m pacing around the game room in my suite, my friends are watching me like I’m about to explode.

I shouldn’t have gone to see her tonight but It couldn’t be helped. I missed her, I’ve been trying to keep my distance from her but it’s so f*****g hard especially when I saw that man close to her. I experienced an emotion I am unfamiliar with. I felt anger and all I wanted was to tear that f*****g human to bits, I had to shift just to calm Drakon and we ended up burning part of a forest.

” You’re a mess, man,” Jay sighs, taking a puff of his smoke.

” What happened when you went away to Minnesota? Did you f**k her?” Lyon finally questions, I’ve been trying to avoid this talk with them. I plop into my seat and get a bottle of whiskey, gulping the liquid. Everyone is looking at me expectantly but I shake my head negatively.

” No man, I tried but she’s not an easy girl.” I lie, it’s better if they think nothing happened. I turn to Cole “You won the bet, you can have the yacht,”

Cole betted on Amara to win, they look shocked by this but I continue to drink, ignoring their gaze.

” Guys, pay up too,” He tells Jay and Lyon who look disappointed.

The next morning, we are late for school and there is this talk about the party Sophie is throwing. By mid-morning, all the students are talking about.

We are in a private lounge, having breakfast.

” Did you know Sophie is throwing a party,” Cole asks Jay, Sophie is staying at the Bolivar family home.

” No, I wasn’t invited,” He shrugs

” It’s at your house,”

” I spend most of my days at the castle or my penthouse,” He answers. Our phones chimes at once and we check, Sophie has invited us to the party. Soon, the door opens and she walks in, looking bold and beautiful as always. Cole gets up and faces her, I knew he liked her more than he admits.

” What are you doing here?” I ask, still annoyed that she and Amara are always around those human males lately and she just can’t come into this area without an invitation.

” This is school property, and I can go anywhere I want,” She retorts, crossing her arms against her chest. I narrow my gaze on her and flick my wrist just as an amount of fire engulfs my hand. I see her take a step back and fidget. Good.

She clears her throat and turns to her cousin ” Uncle and Aunt want you for dinner tonight, you haven’t been picking up their calls, so they sent people for you likely I sent them back home,”

Jay scowls. Our parents are so much alike, they worry about anything and send their men to forcibly take us home.

” I’ll try to come,” He says in a bored tone. Dismissing her, she turns to all of us.

” Are you coming to the party tomorrow, it’s okay if you don’t. I only sent you the invites not to be rude,” She grits her teeth.

” Hmm, we’ll see. We have a party to go to,” Lyon answers.

She turns to leave but Cole blocks her path. ” Are you still upset with me?” He asks, I sense genuine concern behind his words. I think my best friend did fall in love with her.

” Out of my way,” She clenches her fist and closes her eyes, calming her breath as her wolf surface. Cole grabs her hand.

” Are you dating that human?”

” Are you jealous?”

Cole scoffs ” No, I’m just curious. He is f*****g human, how low can you stoop,”

” So I should date a supernatural?” she scowls.

” Absolutely not!” Cole booms.

” You sound jealous,” Sophie says calmly, Cole is red with anger.

It’s when I realize, it was jealousy I felt when that human was all over my mate. I was f*****g jealous, so strange, I’ve never felt it before. Damn, Amara.

” What I do or who I date is none of your f*****g business, now let go of my arm, I’m not one of your w****s,”

” Someone’s still bitter I see,” Jay coughs, muffing his laugh. I smile and nod. Sophie growls in frustration and exits the lounge. I look at Cole who’s growling and cursing, he grabs a chair and throws it against the glass wall, making a few staff who are attending to us scream.

” I’ll never understand how these women keep trapping you, guys. How disappointing,” Jay sighs, shaking his head. I squint my eyes.

” Especially you Ahyan, so disappointing,”

” We are not trapped,”

” Okay, when did you have a f**k since you came back from Minnesota?” He asks, I bite my lips trying to remember, I haven’t gotten laid since I’ve been with Amara, it just feels wrong to be with anyone else.

I chose to ignore my friends and my gaze wanders out to the vast garden, there are few students there and my eyes catch her, my mate. She is standing against the brick walls, hand on her cheek as she reads a novel, she looks so engrossed in it to notice the world around her. The wind is blowing ever so gently in her hair, making her look like she is posing for a magazine photo shot, I’m entranced by how incredibly beautiful she is even in her sweatpants and big shirt.

” SEE! Look at Ahyan,” I hear Jay’s voice.

” Anyway, Are we going to the party, we are not right?” Lyon asks.

” Oh, we are,” Cole and I say at once. A smirk is playing on his lips and I shake my head as I glance at Amara once more.

” And we are going with some girls,”
