The Princess Slave
Chapter 90

Viktor POV

“I’ll kill everyone if she’s not okay!” I growled through mind link as I followed her scent. Loren and several others followed closely behind as our claws dug into the earth.

“It was Boris! We couldn’t replace him anywhere and servants said they saw him leave in the direction of your chambers. It has to be him.” Loren bellowed.

I felt a sharp pain in my cheek and growled.. she’s being hurt! I have to get to her.. I have to get to them..

I ran as fast as I possibly could.. I could feel her fear.. her pain.. being marked linked me to her, same with her mark..

I searched for Arthur.. but he was nowhere to be found. I knew.. I just knew when I couldn’t replace him that he was after her.

After half an hour of running, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and tumbled to the ground.

“Ah!” I growled as I shifted back into human form. I held my stomach but there was no b***d.. Violette.. I Gathered myself but felt rage like you wouldn’t believe.. hurt.. pain.. sorrow.. what is happening to my mate?

I crawled back to my feet and shifted back.

“She’s being hurt! We have to get to her!” I growled. I pushed myself to run faster, following down the rocky road in which her scent was faint. We ran for several more minutes before we stumbled upon an old house that hasn’t been touched in years.. and that’s when I saw Boris standing outside watching nervously.

My eyes met his.. they were full of fear. I didn’t hesitate to lunge at him and mind-link him.

“You made a grave mistake,” I growled through the link.

“You’re too late. He’s killing her.” He said, his voice laced with regret.. sorrow, and fear. I didn’t give him another word as I clamped my canines around his throat and almost ripped his entire neck from his body.

I shifted back into human form and stumbled into the house.. the sight before me was brutal.

Arthur lay limply on top of Violette, b***d everywhere.. a puddle of clear fluid mixed with a bit of redness sprawled out on the floor between her legs.. and Minerva’s mutilated body lay close to them both.

“No! Violette! Wake up.. please!” I cried. I couldn’t contain my emotions.. I could feel our bond snapping.

“Where’s Beatrice?” I growled. Just as soon as I said it she rushed through the doors and kneeled next to us.

“Move your hand. I need to see it.” She said to Loren. Sylvia rushed into the room with a bag full of stuff. Tears burned her eyes but she held back her sobs as she tried to help.

Loren moved his hand and Sylvia began mixing herbs for Beatrice.. Beatrice began feeling around as I removed my pup from Violette’s chest.

She’s beautiful.. so beautiful..

“Needle and thread,” Beatrice told Sylvia. Sylvia quickly pulled it out of the bag and handed it to her, then continued mixing herbs.

“You need to cut the cord,” Beatrice said to me as she began to stitch Violette.

“O-okay..”‘I said.

“Clamp it first. Cut below the clamp.” She said. I looked around the room and for something when Sylvia clipped it for me. I let my claws slip out on one hand and slashed the cord.

“Sylvia, once you’re done you need to remove the placenta. Otherwise, she’ll just get sick and..”

“I’ve got it.. don’t worry,” Sylvia responded quickly. After several minutes, Sylvia lay the paste beside Beatrice and moved to between Violette’s legs.

“If you need something to pull it use these,” Beatrice said as she reached into the bag and pulled out a long pair of clamps. Sylvia took it and began working.

Our little girl began crying.. I didn’t know what to do. I put my pinky in her small mouth and she suckled.

“Shh.. shh.. it’s okay.. Mommy will be okay..” I said softly.

After Beatrice had sewn Violette’s wound, she began applying the paste generously. Sylvia had finished doing her task and helped Beatrice wrap Violette’s belly.

“She.. she should be okay,” Beatrice said. She looked at the claw marks on Violette’s throat and began applying the paste to them as well. Then her sliced cheek. Once she was done.. She looked at the beautiful pup in my arms and tears rolled down her cheeks.

“3 weeks early.. she’s very small. That’s 6 weeks in human pregnancy..” Beatrice said. I held my daughter out for her to examine.

“No cuts.. not a thing. She was very lucky. It seems the knife missed completely.” Beatrice said. Loren looked around the room until he spotted a blanket hanging over a chair and grabbed it. He handed it to Beatrice and she wrapped it around my daughter before handing her back to me.

“We need to get her home..” Beatrice said. I nodded silently.

“Here, Loren. Take my pup.. I need to carry Violette.” I said. He didn’t say a word as he held out his hands. I handed him my daughter and quickly scooped Violette up.

••••••••••••••••••••••••

“She killed him.. she sliced his throat with her claws..” I said softly. Cedric and Lillian just arrived.. they’d been captured by Arthur, found out.. then released by Amelia before she took her men and left Arthur’s palace.

I held Violette’s hand and sighed as I looked at her. It’s been two days.. and she hasn’t woken up.

“She will wake.. she’s strong. She will.” Lillian whispered. She held my sleeping daughter in her arms and rocked her..

Because Violette has been.. out.. Beatrice recommended hiring a wet nurse until she woke. So that our pup may eat. I wished I didn’t have to.. but it was our only option until she woke.

“What if she doesn’t?” I asked.

“She will.” Lillian pushed. I let out a sigh as Lillian stood and walked over to me, handing my pup to me.

“We will go.. please let us know when she wakes,” Lillian said. Cedric stood up and walked over to me, placing his hand on my shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze.

“Don’t worry, man.. Lillian’s right. She’s strong. She’s survived too much to give up now.” He said. I nodded my head.

“You may go..” I said. They quickly left me alone with my mate.. and my pup.

“She’s beautiful, Violette.. you need to wake up.. you need to see her. She looks just like you.. her hair.. her soft smile.. please.. I cannot do this without you.” I said softly. A tear slipped down my cheek..

But she didn’t wake.. she just lay there.

“She’s perfect.. and she needs her Mommy.” I cried softly. I haven’t named her yet.. I will wait until Violette is strong enough..

Our pup began to fuss and I lay her against Violette’s chest.. instantly she calmed and went back to sleep.

“Please.. Violette..”
