Kiarra was basically on her own like always. The pack members for the most part avoided her like the plague. Alpha Zion ignored her and when he did force himself to interact with her he looked beyond annoyed. She was starting to wonder if the moon goddess had made a mistake after all and maybe she was trying too hard to make something that wasn't there. It was clearly one sided and she couldn't force him. He was cold and seemed to hate her the more time passed in keeping him in a bond which he did not want to be in. She started to feel that maybe she was being unfair but she just wished he'd at least try and give it a chance and then if he didn't feel the same way then she couldn't argue with him.

He spent most of the week in his office and barely came out for meals. He'd take them in his office. When she went there and knocked he wouldn't allow her in and she didn't push it. She'd wait and there'd be no answer. She felt like she was a stranger in the midst of people who all disliked her as she mostly ate alone on one side of the dining hall with the pack on the other side gawking and whispering about her. There was no warm welcome. They had a pack bon fire the past weekend and didn't invite her. When she knew was when she went to the dining hall and realized it was empty. Since she didn't know anyone and they clearly didn't want her there she made a sandwich and went back to his room. She sat on the window sill and watched the bonfire light dancing in the night air. The only thing she looked forward to were the nights. He had also planned that out as well. He'd left the room to her and she was too ashamed to ask where he was. She had to admit it might be a bit much sharing a room with him after just meeting him but he was her mate. She took comfort in the smell of him lingering in the sheets and the room. At the end of the day she'd dive into the sheets and inhale deeply and everything made sense. It was all worth it.

Getting to know the border patrol was long and rigorous as it seemed there was no end to their border. She had to keep up the act of huntress so for the past week she headed out every morning with Samuel to over view everything. Samuel was not that much different from his brother. He was very quiet and his face was always set in a please do not talk to me way. If they were talking about anything and it started to go over five minutes he started to look very irritated. She tried to manage his cold shoulder as well not letting it get to her. He also didn't seem to like the fact that she was a female and so powerful. He didn't say it but he gave the impression that he thought she wolves were weaker, lesser than. They were to stay home bearing pups and take care of the house. As he would call it,she wolf duties.

He rolled his eyes once at her when she asked about their electrical fencing on the border that was closest to another wolf pack miles away, enquiring how high it was and the voltage charge. By the time she got back at the end of the day she was tired. So much for keeping up pretences.

Daniel and Zion also didn't seem to be on the best of terms either. They had seemed to be best friends but now they behaved like co-workers who hated each other because one kept eating the other's lunch. They barely interacted much and when Daniel for the most part spoke to Zion he ignored him. You could see the clear power difference between them. Daniel seemed like he was seeking his brothers approval, like he was in awe of him. It made Kiarra remember always wanting an older sibling growing up to look up to and follow around. She wondered what could have gotten between the brothers because for the most part they seemed inseparable. She hoped they would get over it soon enough.

Lisa, Daniel's mate was short and small with a pixie cut. She was pretty but rude. She remembered asking her where the laundry room was and she looked at her and rudely asked "Do you even know what to do in there?" before scoffing and leaving without giving her any directions. So it was either ask one of the brothers or replace it herself and so she walked around the place until she found it.

She was starting to doubt herself. How could she even make it work if his family hated her? They had all given her the cold shoulder and made no attempt to hide their dislike for her. She found it unfair especially since they didn't know her. But she had to push on anyway. She had learnt a long time ago that people's opinions didn't matter and not everyone is going to like you. Therefore she didn't go around trying to please anyone and she wasn't going to start now. If they warmed up to her fine, if not that was okay too. The next thing she noticed were the she wolves. There were particular ones that whenever she was in the presence of the pack and they thought she wasn't looking glared at her. These same eyes would anxiously follow Zion the rare times he was in the room. She's committed murder too many times in her mind. She'd also seen them flirt with him openly and the painful part was that he'd flirt back with them. And every time she'd notice, she'd feel it. Some looked familiar with him, too familiar and she wondered how many of them did he sleep with. He was man whore and she didn't know what to think of that. One that was definite was Charlotte. She can still see her clearly sitting on his chair half way in his lap half way on the arm rest whispering in his ears, playfully looping her bare pale legs over his in the dining hall. She always seemed to quietly replace him whenever he was around especially where there weren't too many eyes.

Kiarra didn't react to these things even though she wanted to, she didn't rip anyone apart or release her aura. She was just quietly observing, politely taking everything with grace so much you would almost forget she was a Lycan there.
