The Rebel
Chapter 50

Vera’s Perspective

Strength isn’t always about physical power.

Sometimes it’s also about mental strength.

The strength called endurance.

Looking around, I saw pack members and elders being held captive by the wanderers. They were on their knees, their hands tied behind their backs and the wanderers’ swords ready to kill them.

Their eyes are fixed on us or rather on Benjamin, waiting for his order to kill.

I looked at Benjamin’s smiling face, and truth be told, I felt nothing but disgust. I was disgusted by his mentality.

How can a man be so sick?

His nose touched my cheek, making me close my eyes and clench my fists.

His words created a storm of rage within me.

“You spent your whole life saving these pathetic women. »

He knows who I am. However, he did not announce my identity, he still wanted to enjoy this game.

“But now, who will save you… Rebel? »

He whispered the last part in my ear, so no one could hear. I looked back.

“I don’t need anyone to save me. I can do it myself! I said and he pulled back, giggling, and looking me up and down.

” Of course. I can clearly see how you can save yourself, my love,” he said with a raised eyebrow. His eyes darkened as he saw the front of my torn and tattered shirt.

“If it wasn’t for me, you would be dead, my little darling. »

I didn’t answer. I didn’t have to do it. It may seem true to him, but he doesn’t know, I’m not that easy to break.

“So tell me, my love, are you ready to be my slave?” »

I wanted to make fun of him. Ignoring him, I refused to look him in the eyes and he grabbed my hair from behind. He shook them so that I faced him.

” Stop ignoring me. I asked you if you agreed to be my slave? “

Never,” I said, looking into his eyes and he chuckled. He let go of my hair and nodded.

Running his hand through his hair, something mischievous was going on in his head.

“I guess you need a little motivation.” »

Turning around, he gave an order that made my b***d run cold for a second.

“Bring them. » That’s all he said and the vagabonds moved forward, dragging the women along.

They dragged them by their hair and made them stand in line.

With swords positioned on their necks,

So, they reached the basement, I see.

The men already held captive on the ground were screaming and struggling to be freed, seeing their companions so helpless and vulnerable.

Chaos was entering the basement and I could only watch.

One of them managed to free himself. But before he could reach his partner, he was stabbed and screamed in pain as he fell to the ground. His partner screamed and tried to reach him. It was the same girl, the girl who called me a whore and a traitor at court. But before she could reach it, a vagrant came forward and kicked her, causing her forehead to hit the ground.

Tears were streaming from his eyes and his hands were shaking.

She tried to reach for her companion’s hand, but the wanderer just laughed mockingly, putting his boot on her back and pressed down on it.

His scream echoed through the forest, causing everyone to tremble in fear.

Meanwhile, the wanderers enjoyed this unhealthy game of domination and power.

Benjamin turned to look at me, but I refused to look at him. My eyes were fixed on the scene unfolding before me.

“Do you want to say something, my love? he asked and that’s when the girl’s teary eyes met mine.

Her body shook as she pleaded helplessly.

“Please… I’m begging you… Please.” …”

I just looked at her coldly. His previous words echoed in my mind and I closed my eyes. My eyebrows furrowed and my b***d boiled.

” No. »

That’s all I said and the girl looked shocked. Benjamin was surprised for a second, but he smiled and approached me again.

“Not so sensitive now.” You impress me, my love,” he said and that’s when I looked into his eyes, my brown orbs resembling those of a burning coal. I’m not that inhuman…even after everything she said…I would never wish her to die.

“Free my hands and I’ll impress you even more.” »

He laughed. His thumb caressed my cheek, with his eyes looking up at me.

“You are in no position to negotiate, my love. »

I raised an eyebrow, as my words made him clench his fists.

” What is happening ? Are you afraid of losing to a girl? »

His smirk disappeared to be replaced by a cold look.

Placing his hand on my waist, he pulled me towards him. The wounds on my forehead came into contact with his chest and a soft hiss left my lips.

He looked at me as I refused to look down.

Closing his eyes and sniffing my neck, his breath brushes my neck as he whispers,

“I’m afraid of hurting you, my love.”

” No my love. I will rephrase. I like hurting women… But you?

I like to tame you. »

I was fed up with what he said. It was time to tell him and everyone who Vera Red really was.

“Let’s see how well you can tame me. »

He smiled and nodded, leaving me completely and putting his hands in his pockets. My body swayed a little, my hands being tied above, but I managed to hold on.

“If you win, I’ll let all these women go, but if I win…

You will agree to be my personal slave. Willingly. »

I looked into the pleading eyes of the women and saw hope rising in their eyes.

Nodding, I looked up, head held high.

” Bargain. »

With a wave of his finger, he gave the order to move the girl and boy back and clear the arena.

“No Vera!” He is very powerful! You can’t… do it alone…” Alex shouted from behind, hands clutching her injured chest as she looked up at me.

“This is my only chance. »

That’s all I said and Alex knew then that no one could change my mind.

“Untie her. »

Benjamin gave the order and I saw two vagabonds approaching.

They untied my hands, they stepped back and I stood up.

I sighed. Finally.

Rolling up my sleeves and cleaning the b***d from the corner of my lips, I smirked at him.

Oh Benjamin. Prepare yourself for the deadliest fight of your life.

He moved his arm, showing me the way and I walked forward with my head held high.

My wolf stirred in my mind, as I heard the men and women who were laughing at me earlier, turn back to me with hope in their eyes.

People surrounded us and Benjamin stood in front of me.

I unzipped the buttons of my now torn and bloody shirt and threw it away.

I walked out of the crowd panting.

I was wearing a sports bra under the thin shirt, and it clearly showed my bleeding wounds in the light.

But that’s not what surprised them the most, it was the old scars that marked my back.

Proof that I wasn’t the weak, pathetic she-wolf they thought I was.

Benjamin stood in my line of vision, his head moving to the side as he cracked his neck.

He was preparing for the start of the fight.

“Are you guys ready for a show?” Benjamin asked the crowd and they shouted in approval, sending more adrenaline pumping through my veins.

Seeing the helpless girls one last time, I cracked my fingers.

I lowered my frame, preparing to give them a real show of power.

After all, it wasn’t just Vera who was fighting today.

It was the fight of the entire female race.

It was the fight of good against evil.

It was a fight to the death.
