Chapter 64
It took a while before I was able to convince Lucien that I was also fooled and urged him to see that there was a greater threat in this mansion than me.
The guards had searched around for Yulianna, but she wasn’t found, it was like she just disappeared. The guards at the gate didn’t see her leave.
Rielle of course said I was just pretending and I was aware of everything going on. She said I made the letter up and was only doing all these for attention. It took all the strength and endurance I had in me not to land her a powerful punch.
I swallowed hard, taking in all the insults and humiliations as I walked back to my
room.
I woke up with a start as I felt as if someone was in my room. I glanced around, my heart racing and I calmed down as soon as I saw that everything was in its right. place. There was no need for me to panic.
I walked to the refrigerator to grab a drink when an envelope caught my eye. glanced around, cautiously, looking for a weapon of any kind and then baring my fingers out instead. I had forgotten that I could now do that.
I picked up the envelope and scented it for any trace of its origin but the only thing I perceived was Lavender, just like the first envelope. It was the same type of envelope that was sent to me when I was in the cell.
I inhaled deeply as I thought of who might have sent it.
One thing I did know for sure was that whoever sent it had a thing for lavenders or smelled like lavender and there was no one I knew who smelled like that.
I cautiously tore the envelope open, to see another typed note. The person who kept sending this didn’t want his or her identity found.
I furrowed my brows. Whoever sent this letter really loved the riddles.
‘Amara, the plan remains, ahead we must go, keep enduring.”
What the hell does that mean? what plan? endure?. I will not endure anything! I’m done enduring!

How the hell did it even get to my room in the first place?

I hissed and tore the note. Whoever it was, I didn’t care anymore, I would replace a way to get out of this mansion and replace Eve and Norman. I had a feeling that they would be in Greyvine, to replace a way to break Norman’s oath.
As soon as I got out of my room, I asked a guard that Rielle personally posted on my door, to prevent me from roaming around the mansion or leaving.
“Did someone come into my room?”
He shook his head and I curled my fist in a ball, thoroughly annoyed.
“Did you leave this place at all? like to use the toilet or even-”
He didn’t let me finish asking my question before he shook his head in denial and I sighed.
“What’s wrong?” I spun around to replace Giselle. She was smiling.
“I don’t know, I’m just tired,” I said and she nodded.
“Aren’t we all? You look like shit, by the way, no offense,” she said and I chuckled.
“Thank you,” I said and she smiled.
“I heard what happened with the maid,” she stated and I nodded.
“You look stressed, you’ve been worrying a lot. You have to calm down and trust that everything is going to be fine,” she said as she walked to my room and I followed her.
“She even has a guard stand in front of your door,” she mentioned and snickered as she plopped onto the only sofa in the room.
“I really don’t know what to do again with Rielle. I don’t know why she derives so much joy in humiliating me, I said as I walked to the refrigerator. “You want a drink?” I turned to her and she shook her head.
I picked a bottle of vodka and a glass and sat on the bed, pouring myself a drink.
I had been drinking a lot for the past few days, yet I felt like I needed a drink every time. I missed being a doctor.

“I never liked her since when he decided to take her as his mate seven years ago. I warned him, she was just too annoying, I’ve known her since we were children,” she paused and grabbed the bottle from me, her face had an expression of pain etched on it.

She continued, “She always said she was going to become Luna, and she boasted. about it, even though there was another choice of Luna, I don’t know how she knew that and how she pulled it off that she ended up being with Lucien. He never liked her either,” she confessed as she passed the bottle onto me.
“When she was just a child?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
“Yes.”
“Who was supposed to be Luna?” I asked since she said that there was another choice of Luna.
She hesitated and then spoke in a whisper, “Selene Deforte.”
I gasped, placing my palm on my mouth to prevent myself from making a noise.
Selene Deforte was unarguably the most beautiful woman in Silverpine, I remembered meeting her a few times in Silverpine Mall. And she was kind, she even greeted me the few times we met, unlike those high ranked wolves who saw.
kind as almost like servants.

I believe it was about a year before I met Lucien, A rumor began to spread about Selene being pregnant for the rival pack’s Alpha. The rumors were so vicious that I began to even pity her at that time.
The former Alpha was furious and gave the death sentence to her family as she fled to the pack. After that, we didn’t hear from her ever again. Nob*dy knows if she died or if she survived.
“You know, now that I think about it–Rielle might have had a hand in what happened..,” She stated and I gasped, engulfed with fear.
If she could annihilate a whole family, then who was I?
“We mustn’t underestimate her,” she said again and I nodded.
“What about Greyson, does he trust her?,” I questioned.

She seemed to think about it for a while and when she finally did, she hesitated. “Greyson–he–I don’t know, he’s just..,” she was stuttering and I sensed that something was wrong.
“What is it?,is something going on?” I questioned as I inched closer to her.
She sighed and rubbed her forehead. “I feel like I don’t know him anymore, he feels like a different person!,” she lamented and I furrowed my brows.
“Greyson?”
“We are all going through different things, we just have each other, us women to confide in ourselves, you know..,” she trailed off and I nodded slowly.
“What did Greyson do?” I questioned, taking a sip from my drink.

“I don’t know I can’t say for sure, but I feel like he has something to do with my children-, you know–the stillbirths,” she breathed out and I furrowed my brows, the confusion, apparent in my face.
“How?”
“You know..as women, we should confide in each other,” she said and I narrowed my eyes. She was beginning to sound suspicious, like she wanted us to be close or she wanted to get me to say something to her, perhaps a secret.
I smiled inwardly. So that’s what she was after, my secret. She could’ve been sent. by Rielle or even Greyson for all I know. I had to be extremely careful with her.
“What made you think so?,” I asked and she bent her head.
“I’ve seen him do some kind of rituals I believe have been forbidden for a long time,” she revealed and I gasped.
“Are you saying-”
“Yes, I don’t trust my husband,” she concluded as she took a swig from the bottle again.
I shook my head in pity as I held her hands.
“We are in this together, you don’t have to hide anything from me,” she stated and I nodded.

“About your chest ache,” she started after a long silence and I sighed. So that was what she wanted to know. She had probably revealed to Rielle that it was serious and important and that was why I was hiding it.
“It’s fine now. It was actually due to an allergic reaction,” I said and she nodded.
“Are you sure?,” she asked, peering into my eyes and I nodded.
“So you don’t have a clue as to where Eve or Norman are?,” she asked and I nodded.
“I wonder why Eve will bring him here? Do you really trust her?,” she asked again and I mentally rolled my eyes. She wasn’t even making it subtle, she was throwing it in my face that she wanted to know my secret.
“I don’t know.I don’t even know who to trust anymore,” I confessed.
“You can trust me!”
I peered into her face as I held her hands, “can I really trust you?”
