I didn’t know what I was supposed to expect but it wasn’t this.

Everything felt strange and it was weird looking at someone that was me, but not really me.

“I still have my memories,” I pointed out and she nodded.

“Would you rather have mine?”

I shrugged. I didn’t really care about any of that. I only wanted one thing right now.

“Where’s my Son?” I demanded as she dressed up to leave.

She said she could get into the mansion and contrary to what I believed, he was still in love with me.

“Oh yes,” she picked up a pen and scribbled something on a note for me and I furrowed my brows.

“What is this?”

“If you can decode this, then you have your son,” she said and turned to leave. I grabbed her arms, spinning her around.

“This wasn’t the agreement.”

“Oh dear..then what is?

“You said you’ll give me my son after we swap bodies-, I was already thinking that I had made a huge mistake.

“Wrong.” She chuckled. “I told you I’ll tell you where he is and I just did. All you have to do is decipher that code and you can have your son,” she smiled and pushed me away as she walked out of the house.

My heart sank. My instincts were right all along, she had indeed changed to this evil manipulative woman.

I glanced at the paper as a tear slid from my eyes and onto it. I quickly wiped it off. I needed to replace my son. I had to be strong. I was the fool to have trusted her that quickly.

There was only one option left for me, go back to where I came from. Rolan might be able to help me and I had to:

quickly inform Greyson of the latest happenings because he assumed that she was me.

I was pondering on what to do when I suddenly remembered the seer. It was only she who could currently help

  1. me.

I didn’t know the way but I had to try.

I had walked for what seemed like hours and was already about to ask for directions when I thought against it. There were too many seers in Greyvine. I just needed to get back to Eve.

I knocked gently on the door, thinking about the first words to say.

“It’s Amara, your sister.”

“I am your sister, don’t mind the face change.”

“–”

I was still thinking of that when the door suddenly opened and I came face to face with Norman who raised a brow.

“How may I help you?” I saw him glance around cautiously.

“Norman,” I smiled and he furrowed his brows.

“It’s Amara.”

He shut the door quickly and opened it back, with a gun pointed at me.

I quickly raised my hands defensively.

“What–what are you doing?”

I saw the others emerge, but Greyson wasn’t with them. I swallowed hard as I glanced at them with pleading eyes. I made to speak when Norman silenced me.

“A word from you and you’ll lose a limb”

I nodded quickly as my eyes widened with fright.

“Who sent you here?”

I blinked rapidly, not knowing whether to keep quiet or answer that.

“Answer me!!” He thundered and I glanced at Eve, maybe there was still a piece of me left that she could recognize.

“Cat got your tongue?

“I–I’m Amara,” I blurted out and Eve raised a brow and took a step closer.

“How do you know Amara?”

“What did you do to her?”

I was scared of the gun pointed at me and I glanced up at him pleadingly, but he held it more firmly.

“Answer her!”

1 blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall, I couldn’t die like this.

“I’m Amara–1,” I winced as the cold steel of the handgun pressed into my forehead.

“I know it’s hard to believe, I’m still struggling to believe it too. But it’s true. It’s me. I-”

SLAP!!

I held my right cheek with my palm as my eyes widened in shock. Tears began to drop down my face as I was still struggling to believe that my own sister had slapped me.

“Do you think we’re here to play?”

I shuddered and she shook her head. “You better start talking before I blow your brains out!” Norman bellowed.

I couldn’t control the tears as they began to stream freely down my face.

“What if she’s telling the truth?” Giselle’s quiet voice came from behind and I nodded my head. I didn’t know. how I was going to do it, but I wanted them to know that I wasn’t lying.

“You’re too trusting.” Eve said through gritted teeth.

“This isn’t my sister. I’ll know my sister when I see her”

I didn’t know how to convince them, but I wanted them to know that I was the sister that she was talking about.

“Well, since you claim to be Amara. You should be able to prove that. It’s quite simple, you’ll tell us something. Something that only Amara knows.” It was Rolan that finally spoke and the others murmured in agreement.

I smiled. That was quite easy. I was sure I could do it. Thankfully Selene had left me with my memories intact.

I opened my mouth to Speak when suddenly I realized that I couldn’t speak.

I furrowed my brows in confusion as I tried again..

“|—”

Eve chuckled. “Shut up, I knew you weren’t my sister, you thieving bitch!”

I shook my head rapidly as I wondered what exactly was going on..

I remembered everything. In my mind, I was saying them but I couldn’t say it aloud all of a sudden and It enraged me. Selene must’ve done something in the spell.

“You do look familiar-,” Rolan squinted his eyes as he took a step closer towards me.

I didn’t know whether to be grateful or sad, but my heart raced.

“Who are you?” he asked and I thought quickly.

They didn’t believe I was Amara, but they’d believe it when I told them who the face belonged to.

I watched the expression on their faces as I told them.

Selene.
