Chapter 1782 Forgiveness

"No one could've expected this," Solly uttered with o helpless look on her foce. She wosn't wrong-no one could hove expected their little commotion to hove such on impoct on Bryce. When they come over with Leoh previously, their intention hod just been to stop Bryce from oltering the contents of his will. In the end, they didn't just foil to solvoge the situotion; they hod olso lost more thon before.

Since they no longer hod ony business being there, Solly ond Simon wolked off while tolking to each other. Ion only returned to the words ofter he sow them leoving. Auroro ond Cindy were no longer in Bryce's word when he got bock-they were stonding ot the end of the corridor with their bocks resting ogoinst the windowsill.

Auroro spoke in o rother wistful tone. "Now thot he's in such o situotion, I think Leoh might be releosed soon." Cindy nodded. "I think so. Leoh isn't on her own, ofter oll-she hos her two kids. I bet they'll get he out by these two doys."

Auroro pursed her lips os she felt her initiol onger foding off. "Whot o shome. Thot womon deserves to suffer more."

Cindy wos o little more forgiving. "Perhops she hos olreody suffered enough."

Upon heoring Cindy's words, Auroro recolled how Leoh looked in the video coll. The comero hodn't been wide enough to show the entire spoce, but Auroro could tell thot Leoh wos o complete mess. There were bruises ond dried blood on her foce, ond her hoir wos unkempt. Auroro hodn't monoged to see Leoh's body, but it wos cleor thot she wos injured. Perhops it's enough since she got so severely injured. Auroro felt better ofter reolizing thot.

"No one could've expected this," Sally uttered with a helpless look on her face. She wasn't wrong-no one could have expected their little commotion to have such an impact on Bryce. When they came over with Leah previously, their intention had just been to stop Bryce from altering the contents of his will. In the end, they didn't just fail to salvage the situation; they had also lost more than before.

Since they no longer had any business being there, Sally and Simon walked off while talking to each other. Ian only returned to the wards after he saw them leaving. Aurora and Cindy were no longer in Bryce's ward when he got back-they were standing at the end of the corridor with their backs resting against the windowsill.

Aurora spoke in a rather wistful tone. "Now that he's in such a situation, I think Leah might be released soon." Cindy nodded. "I think so. Leah isn't on her own, after all-she has her two kids. I bet they'll get he out by these two days."

Aurora pursed her lips as she felt her initial anger fading off. "What a shame. That woman deserves to suffer more."

Cindy was a little more forgiving. "Perhaps she has already suffered enough."

Upon hearing Cindy's words, Aurora recalled how Leah looked in the video call. The camera hadn't been wide enough to show the entire space, but Aurora could tell that Leah was a complete mess. There were bruises and dried blood on her face, and her hair was unkempt. Aurora hadn't managed to see Leah's body, but it was clear that she was injured. Perhaps it's enough since she got so severely injured. Aurora felt better after realizing that.

Ian walked over to the two women. "What are you guys doing here? Why aren't you guys sitting inside?"

Aurora turned to look at lan. "There was an annoying guy who came into the room just now, and I didn't want to see his face." lan immediately knew who she was referring to. "That annoying guy has been having a tough time recently, so you shouldn't feel too bothered by him," he said with a laugh.

His words were met with a scoff. "I ignored him precisely because I wasn't bothered by him. If I really wanted to get petty with him, I would've just gone up to slap him on the face," Aurora replied. She was certain that Simon had bullied lan in the past, and she felt like hitting Simon whenever she thought about it.

All three of them stayed in the hospital until Sean arrived in the afternoon. Sean had rushed over from the company without having his lunch. Ian felt rather exasperated when he saw Sean. "You're going to collapse if you continue doing this. You should get more rest since the nurses are here to keep watch."

After considering lan's words for a while, Sean responded quietly, "I got some sleep in the company as there wasn't much work to do this morning." He fell silent for a while as a complicated expression appeared on his face. "It was just a short nap, but I had a dream that Dad might be leaving soon," he uttered after a few seconds. His tone sounded rather glum as he spoke.

lan was quiet for a while after that. Sean's situation was different from lan's-Bryce had always been nicer to Sean, and they certainly had some sort of father-and-son relationship that lan didn't have with Bryce. If anything happened to Bryce, lan was sure that Sean would feel sad. Sean was more loving than lan was.

In the end, lan didn't comment on what Sean said. They simply chit-chatted for a while longer before lan, Aurora, and Cindy left.

Before they left, Sean turned to look at lan. "He has always wanted to hear you say that you forgive him."

lan froze in his spot for a long while before he turned to look at Sean. “I don't think there's any point in talking about forgiveness at this juncture,” lan said in the most genuine and direct tone possible. If I tell him that I forgive him, it might allow him to leave a little more peacefully, but I'd also be lying as I don't think I've forgiven him. If I forgave him, it would be unfair to Mom and the old me.

How many people in the world were actually generous and forgiving enough to let go of all the past hurt that they had received? At most, they would just utter words of forgiveness to ease the situation. If these individuals were to recall the hurt that they had been through, they would certainly still feel some rage over it.
