Chapter 1878 Another Job

The next step was still quite a distance away. Ian was advancing in his career, so he mustn't stir up any big news. Their relationship wasn't like any other, and the company probably didn't know what was going on with them. Hence, they didn't have the capacity to think of marriage just yet.

The company had allowed them to date, but lan would never be allowed to marry. Dating and marriage were different things, after all.

Naomi should understand that too, so she let out a sigh after thinking for a while. "Even though it's envious to date a superstar, you get a lot of troubles like that too."

It was true, and Cindy knew that all too well. As long as they were in love, they couldn't walk around in public like it was nothing.

Also, even if they weren't in love, Cindy still couldn't walk near lan in public. Fame was something people both loved and hated. Naomi didn't talk too much with Cindy, for she had just gotten off work and was gathering her things to get back to the dorm.

After some small talk, Naomi proceeded to hang up. Cindy walked with lan into the community, and the two had just arrived on the first floor of their unit when lan's phone rang.

This time, it was a phone call from Hannah. Cindy and lan were already expecting Hannah to call and ask what was going on.

After all, to the company, they were fake lovers, so they only had to pretend in front of the camera. Now that they were being intimate in private, Hannah might think something was up.

Cindy glanced at lan. She pursed her lips and shook her head helplessly, then went into the building.

lan remained outside as he picked up Hannah's call. Hannah wasn't angry, but she also wasn't quite sure what lan was thinking about, so she asked right off the bat, "What's going on between you and Cindy? How did they manage to take photos of you? And you went to the amusement park?"

lan hummed and tried to speak in half-truths. "It was boring at home, so we went outside for a while. The amusement park is newly built, isn't it? We just wanted to have a look. I never thought people would recognize us."

He never mentioned his relationship with Cindy throughout the whole process, so when Hannah listened, she concluded that the two were forced to put on an act because the fans spotted them.

Hannah immediately said, "It's good that nothing big happened. Be more careful when you go out next time. The fans are nice enough to greet you this time, but if some fans decided to secretly take pictures, and if they took unpleasant pictures, that would put you at a disadvantage. If there's chaos on the net, you'll be in trouble again."

lan never really had things easy before, since eyes had been on him ever since his debut. Every step he took must be considered carefully.

lan said he got it, then Hannah continued, "You have shows to film soon, so Cindy will be given a break. Tell her to be more careful of her actions too. Even though she doesn't have much of an influence on her own, some media might try to tackle her side of things."

lan voiced his agreement, then said, "I'm sure she knows these things too. She knows what she's doing."

He was hesitating now as he considered telling Hannah about Cindy's search for a job. However, Cindy was still lan's assistant in Hannah's eyes, so it wouldn't be appropriate for Cindy to replace another job just like that.

Hannah knew nuances when she saw one, so she could immediately hear the hesitation in lan's voice. She hastily said, “If you run into any problems over there, just tell me. You don't have to be shy around me."

Since she put it like that, lan decided to spill the beans. "It's not much of a problem, but just something I want to inform you about. Cindy knew that I was going into filming soon, so she wanted to replace something to do. She took a major in fashion design, so she was wondering if she could return to that in the meantime."

Hannah was taken aback by the news. "Since Cindy has such intentions, does it mean that she decided to quit her job as your assistant?"
