The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1299
Tears streamed down Blake’s face as she wiped them away with a blank expression, murmuring to herself, “I don’t believe you’re gone, just like that. If you haven’t come back to look for me in three years, I’ll go search for you myself.
“No matter where you are or what it takes, even if it means going to the ends of the earth. I’ll never believe you’re dead, Kevin.”
Unbeknownst to Blake, two men observed her from a secluded corner of Ventropolis through surveillance footage. One chuckled. “This woman does have feelings for Kevin. She’s been here almost a dozen times in a month. And she’s about to get married, doesn’t her husband mind?”
The other, holding a cup of coffee, added, “Who knows? Kevin doesn’t know how to cherish a good woman.”
Blake lay on the bed, eventually drifting into sleep amidst her tears. When she awoke in the afternoon, her phone buzzed incessantly with messages and missed calls.
She regained her composure and read through them.
[Mom and Dad are back. Where are you? ]
[Blake, call me back. I’m worried about you.]
‘Mom and Dad are back?’ Blake wondered.
Without much thought, Blake hurriedly left the apartment building. As soon as she stepped outside, a red Lamborghini pulled up beside her. The window rolled down revealing Cecilia, who took off her sunglasses and said, “Get in, Blake.
Blake replied coldly, “I’m not talking to you.”
Cecilia continued, “I’ve already informed your family. They know I’m picking you up. Other than me, no one knows you’re here. Getting in the car will save us some trouble.”
Not trusting her, Blake stared at Cecilia and said, “You had people watching me?”
Cecilia simply smiled, not answering, which seemed like a confirmation. She then enticingly said, “If you get in, I’ll tell you about Kevin.”
With those words, Blake got into the passenger seat and asked, “What do you want to tell me?”
Then, Blake’s gaze fell on Cecilia’s slightly protruding belly, indicating that she was carrying a child whose father was unknown to everyone.
As Cecilia drove, she said, “I’m sure Liam has already told you that Kevin might still be alive. So, you don’t have to worry anymore.”
Blake retorted, “You set me up! Was your goal to force me to marry Liam? I’m telling you, I won’t let you get your way. I’m going to cancel the wedding.”
Cecilia seemed to have anticipated Blake’s reaction and said, “Blake, some decisions can’t be changed on a whim. Going back on your decision now would be harming your family. Do you really want to do that?”
Blake countered, “Stop lying to me. My family is under Fred’s protection. If you dare to touch them, Fred won’t let you off.”
Cecilia laughed as if she heard something amusing and said, “Mya has been abandoned and sent to Roshya. Didn’t you know?”
Blake denied, “Impossible, you’re lying again.”
Cecilia replied, “If you don’t believe me, once we’ve settled your marriage with Liam, I’ll take you to Ventropolis Prison, and you can see for yourself.”
