In the middle of the night, Madelyn was jolted awake by intense, sharp pain and a strong taste of blood in her throat. She immediately covered her mouth and nose, lifting her blanket and immediately going into the bathroom without even putting on shoes. There, she vomited a mouthful of blood.

Before she could turn on the faucet, her vision went dark temporarily. Madelyn did not panic, instead calmly reaching for the faucet’s handle and cleaning the blood off her face. Hugging the wall for support, she made her way to the bedside table and opened the bottom drawer, taking out a bottle of white pills and swallowing two.

Madelyn leaned weakly against the wall. Her vision returned to normal once the pain passed. This was not the first time she experienced such a situation, but it was a rare occurrence.

She knew this was a sign that her illness was getting worse. When a nurse walked in and saw the blood on the floor, she was frightened, “M-Miss… What happened?”

The nanny walked over when she heard the sounds. She covered her mouth in shock, fearing she might scream, “Oh my goodness.”

Madelyn had lost color in her face. She was weak. She breathed rapidly with her eyes closed, “I’m fine. It’ll pass in a moment…

“Giovanna, what’s the time now?” Giovanna hurriedly walked over to help Madelyn up, “It’s five in the morning now. The sun will rise soon.”

Madelyn said, “Okay. In a while, take the child and leave through the hospital’s back door.” Giovanna had never seen Madelyn in such a haggard state. She nodded vigorously.

Upstairs, Ethan sat in his wheelchair, and had not slept all night. He looked out of the window watching as the first rays of dawn lit up the sky, casting a golden glow that pierced through the clouds and painted half the sky red.

From there, he could see the tallest building in Ventropolis, Jardin Tower. Ethan was lost in his thought, ‘The Arnold family is destroyed. My only family member is defending the Arnold residence, waiting for me to return.

‘A car accident made me lose everything once I regained consciousness. Do I regret it?”

Ethan’s answer from the bottom of his heart told him he did not regret it. To him, the person he had lost had made him realize he should treasure that person more than being on top of the business world.

A bodyguard approached him, “Mr. Arnold, the helicopter’s here. We can depart now.’

Ethan responded, “Where is she?”

The bodyguard did not answer immediately. After a while, he remembered and said, “She’s packing her things now. She said she’ll be there in ten minutes.”

“Okay.”

In the end, he went to look for her. On the rooftop, Kai looked at the helicopter that was parked there. Madelyn asked, “What did you want to give me?”

Kai responded, “I actually wanted to give you something, but I decided not to in the end. If I tell you everything, it won’t be fun anymore. The only thing I can tell you is that in Hayson’s study at Southern Haven Villas, there’s a hidden room. There’s a switch under the desk that opens a door to the secret room.” 11

Madelyn’s heart skipped a beat. She found it hard to believe. In all her years at the Jent residence, she had never known that Hayson’s study had a hidden room.

“H-How did you know? Why do you know so much about the Jent residence? Who exactly are you?”

Kai smiled mysteriously, “Who I am isn’t important. The answer to all your questions is in Southern Haven Villas.” He then looked at the helicopter as he continued saying, “If you really want to leave, you don’t need to take what I said seriously.”
