The Secret Between Us -
Chapter 9
The hotel he brought me to is a dream as it is to have him with me. The suite was a temptation to stay in it lost in k****s and this private beach where we are is worthy of paradise. Izan walks towards me with a bottle of champagne in one of his hands and in the other, two glasses, and the scenery of seeing him walking in a bathing suit and with his abdomen exposed is totally fascinating.
-Are you still not going in the water? – he asks me when he arrives in front of the deck chair where I am lying.
-I was waiting for you. – I inform him and his smile lights up more than the strong sun above us.
He leaves the bottle and the glasses on the small table between the two lounge chairs and suddenly, he rests his hands on each side of my body and practically climbs on top of me to start kissing me slowly -can you imagine a life like this? – he asks on my lips.
-Of course I can…” I say and wrap my arms around his neck. –
-Shall we have the champagne? – he asks amused and I nod.
-Yes, I’m hot. – I comment and we laugh.
He sits down next to me on the lounge chair and I quickly settle down and sit next to him. – he asks as he opens the bottle.
-No, do you have any suggestions? – I question and his half smile lets me know that he does.
-I was told to go to Nikki Beach or LIV night-club. – He explains and pours our glasses.
-I don’t know why the second one catches my attention more. – I comment and take the drink he hands me.
-Then that’s where we’ll go. – He says and brings his glass close to mine -Cheers to these days of absolute happiness. – He proposes and without hesitation I clink my glass with his.
-Cheers because we are together. – I add and we quickly drink the champagne -mmm… my favorite. – I comment as I savor the unmistakable taste of Moet & Chandon champagne.
-Of course, do you think I would bring you any other than your favorite? – he asks, moving closer to my lips.
He k****s me slowly and I lose myself in that perfect way he has of doing it – my God… how much I love you… you just have no idea. – I murmur against his lips.
-Of course I do my love, I love you as much or more than you love me. – He tells me and feeling his fingers tangling in my hair makes me smile, I love when he does this -do you want to go to the sea? – he asks me and I nod.
-Yes, just let me finish this drink. – I ask him and once our glasses are empty, we get up from here to go to the sea, he in a moment of distraction on my part, takes me in his arms and runs with me to the sea while I beg him not to submerge us in one blow, but my pleas are in vain when the waves cover us completely. -It’s freezing! – I complain when we surface and manage to hug him.
-That’s because you were in the sun, but it’s exquisite. – he tries to convince me.
His arms wrap around my waist and my legs slowly wrap around his body as we drift in the motion of the sea. One of his hands lets go of me to adjust my hair and he smiles at me while keeping those big green eyes fixed on me -What’s wrong? – I ask noticing the silence between the two of us.
-Nothing…” he answers, but I know he’s lying.
-You know you can’t lie to me, just tell me what’s wrong. – I insist and he gives me a fake smile.
-I don’t want to lose you…” he finally confesses and I deny immediately.
-You will never lose me. – I tell him firmly.
-Promise me. – He asks me and the best answer I can give him is a k**s.
-I swear, even if we have to see each other in secret all our lives, we will… I can’t live without you, we tried it once and it didn’t work out. – I remind him.
-I know, they were the worst two months of my life…” he repeats as he has done before.
-Mine too, I felt like I was drowning. – I say, and his k**s quiets my mouth.
K****s that are supposed to taste like salt because of the sea, but only he can make them taste like sugar… I would miss an eternity with him, I would always inhabit his lips so perfect and I would make his way of caressing me my religion. I read too many romantic stories, but in none of them does it say that everything you think you are is set aside when you replace a love like this. Many might call it an unhealthy love for being alien so many times and so mine a few others, but there is no deception here, between us there are only barriers and threats that make what is ours what seems to be left over, when in reality, it is the only thing that is right in this world. It is a love as true as this sun that burns our skin.
Time stops here with him holding me, with our bodies intertwined and with this peace that we haven’t felt for so long being together somewhere. Here we are just him, this sea and me understanding that there are no perfect or imperfect loves, there are only loves that are, even if everything says they should not be.
