The Secrets of the Panther -
Chapter 38
IZZY
I watch as Kacey and Blake walk into the pack house.
This is all to do with power.
Power over a pack.
Elder Johnson is going to pay.
Kat has her head in her hands and looks at me. “Izzy, your power is magnified; please calm down,” she says, struggling against my power.
I’m trying, but I can’t.
Puna is angry, and so am I.
“We need to get in there,” Puna says with a growl in my head.
I know we do, but we need a plan.
A hand touches my arm. I look to see Lena staring at me. “I just received a text. They are here. They are coming up to the pack house,” she says with a smile.
I wanted to tell them all about this, Blake’s parents. But now they will have to wait.
“Tell them what’s going on,” I say. “They can’t come yet.”
She nods and types away on her phone. Dale looks between the both of us. “What are you two on about?” He asks.
“It’s a surprise,” I say, “But we need to get into that office. You need to tell Blake that I’m coming in.”
Dale looks taken aback. “The plan,” he says, but Charley growls, “Lena and Izzy will deal with this. Everyone I have met since being here all wants power. It should be Izzy who deals with that elder, not our mates, that elder killed her mother,” a snarl slipping through her mouth.
My power coming through again.
Dale looks at me. “What can you do? I know Lena is a witch but Izzy...” but I cut him off. “You said you wanted a relationship with me as your sister. Brother, I can do something about this. I got a lot of built-up power, and I want to cast that elder out of the alpha. I want to make him suffer. I want him to know what it is like to be human and rely on just yourself instead of your wolf because when I replace him, I will rip his throat out and kill him,” I say. My power is magnified even more.
Puna is in my head, growling madly.
Charley and Lena look at Dale, but Lena places her hand on her mate’s arm. “Babe, we need to do this. Luna’s plan won’t work, but we can make sure he never does it again,” she says.
Dale looks between the three of us and then towards Kat, who is glaring at him. “Don’t look at me. Get Blake to let them in. I want to see that elder burn for what he did to my sister and also Dale. You are completely outnumbered here.”
He looks around and notices it’s just the four girls.
I know Kat has sent Todd to meet the guests, but this elder needs to be dealt with first. He doesn’t need to know anything about them; that will be a surprise in itself.
Dale looks blankly as if he is mind-linking someone, but he comes back in seconds. “We can go in, but Izzy and Charley don’t react to what,” he says, earning a growl from Charley and me.
We all walk towards the pack house and go inside.
But we are stopped by three guards.
“You not welcome here,” one snarls.
Dale glares back. “I’m in this pack, you fool. They are here with me,” he says. “What’s the meaning of this?”
“Alpha’s orders, no one except Luna Lauren, Kacey, and Blake are to be with him in his office,” the other says.
“They not from this pack,” growls Puna in my head.
I growl loud. “Get out of my way, or you will be hurt,” I say through gritted teeth.
They growl.
Puna is up on all paws. I step forward from everyone else. I can see Lena moving Charley and Dale back. Puna is ready, and she wants to kill.
My power sweeps over me, and Puna comes through with me in human form. My eyes glow green.
All three guards look stunned, but they don’t have time to react as Puna, and I close our eyes, power radiating off us as one guard comes forward. He is flung back into the wall by me just touching him. The other two do the same.
Neither three wolves move.
We all walk straight into the office but stop at the sight.
There in front of me was a stunned Luna Lauren, who had been tied to a chair. Blake and Kacey hold hands while Alpha Derek holds a book.
All four of them look back at me, stunned.
The scents are not of anyone except Luna Lauren.
My power magnifies and hauls Alpha Derek into the wall behind the desk. He lands in a heap on the floor and is knocked out.
We move fast and fling my hand towards the mates, breaking the connection between them, but I grab Blake, who is smirking at me. “Well, I told you would make you mine.”
I know that voice, Drake.
I smirk and place my hands on Blake’s face. “GO TO HELL,” both Puna and I say. Lena is holding onto one of Blake’s shoulders and one of Kacey’s. I growl louder, and the power of Lena’s spell collides into one, making Kacey and Blake scream in pain.
The spell is working.
After a few seconds, Blake collapses on the floor.
“HOW DARE YOU?” shouts a voice.
I turn and glare at the man from behind the desk.
The alpha looks at me and stares, stunned.
Puna and I use our speed to get to him quicker.
I grab him by his throat and fling him over the desk like a rag doll. He lands in the middle of the floor. All the wolves are growling. Kat too.
“You can’t stop me,” he shouts. “I’m you...” but my growl cuts him off. My power is magnified once again. I can see Kat look at me and nod.
I will use the same spell and power on him but with a twist. I need to bring Alpha Derek forward first. But I can still hurt the elder.
I walk around the desk and make my way to the front of him. I look at Charley and Dale. “HOLD HIM,” Puna and I shout.
Both of them grab hold of him. He tries to break free, but I am holding his neck. “I’m going to enjoy this,” Puna says in her voice. Elder Johnson’s eyes go wide. “How can you... You just...” he says through gasps of breath.
“You think because we are cat shifters that we can not have power,” she growls but smirks. I can tell she is enjoying this a little too much.
“We have power, but your witch friend didn’t tell you that, did she?” she says.
Elder Johnson’s eyes grew wider. “I’m sending you back to your body with a little gift wolf. But let me put it this way when you get back. Be prepared because when we replace you, we will kill you after what you did to my mother,” we say together. “We saw everything. Next time you want to kill someone, make sure you make sure no one is hiding in the closet who can be your witness to everything.”
We place our hands on his face, and our eyes grow bright. Charley and Dale hold him while Lena places her hands on his shoulder and chants.
We move closer to his ear before we do. “We going to enjoy killing your daughter,” his eyes widen, and our power magnifies. Alpha Derek roars.
Every single wolf can feel him.
Luna Lauren is screaming in the background, but I know Kat is holding her back.
After a few seconds, alpha Derek drops to the floor in a heap.
I close my eyes, and Puna retreats into my head.
She’s tried.
We used a lot of power.
When I open my eyes, everyone is staring back at me with stunned faces and smiles.
“Izzy,” says a voice from behind me. I turn around and see my mate gape at me. “What the hell?”
I can’t help but smile at him.
“Told you it was a bad idea,” says Charley, who has Kacey in her arms. She is sobbing.
Blake is helped up from the floor by Dale. He walks over to me. “I knew your power was strong, but...” he says, looking at me in amazement. “I don’t know what to say.”
I smile. “It’s ok, but I need to sit down; it took it out of me,” I say before my knees give out.
Blake caught me just as I was about to hit the floor.
I was in total darkness.
I used too much power.
But I needed to rest.
I just wish I could see the look on that Elder’s face when he realizes what has happened.
ELDER JOHNSON
I come back to my body with a thud.
I groan out in pain.
Once I come around, I can see faces looking at me.
“You never said that bitch had powers,” I shouted towards the woman.
Something was off.
I can’t feel my wolf.
What the hell?
What the hell did she do to me?
I look up to see Alpha Drake, Helga, and him looking at me with grim looks. “You have no wolf. How is that possible?” Alpha Drake says. I can’t help but look at him. She also did a number on him, too. His scar is reopened the one over his eye.
“The stupid bitch has made me blind,” he shouts.
“I told you it wouldn’t work,” says Helga. “I didn’t know she had powers. If I had, I would have found a different way of helping you.”
I glare at her. “You are a useless witch,” I yell.
She comes up to me with her hand full of fire. “I would watch what I would say,” she says, but she stops short in front of me and looks at me.
She laughs.
“Have to say that panther is a pissed-off bitch; you have been marked,” she says, laughing harder.
I look at her. “What the hell do you mean I’ve been marked?” I shout.
She stops laughing and turns to me. “It means she has marked you. She is going to kill you. Slowly and painfully, by the look on that mark on your face,” she says as she hands me a mirror.
I grab it and look at it.
I have a huge black spot right above my eye. I look back at Helga. “Get it off,” I shout.
She laughs again. “I can’t. If I do, I would be cursed,” she says, composes herself, and looks at me. “If that mark doesn’t kill you, she will. After what you did to her mother and what you were going to do to her mate, I would be careful.”
“I still want her,” comes a voice. ’We need her.”
I look up to see him, Michael.
Michael had scars all over his face from where that wolf nearly killed him, but his master found him.
Let’s say we were shocked to know that he was one of them and still alive.
A vampire, no less.
“We can use her to gain more control; we can use her for something else,” he says.
We all look at him. He looks like he has gone mad. “We will capture, torture, make her suffer, take what she loves, and use it against her. She will do our bidding,” he says with a hiss.
Alpha Drake smiles. “I know just the person who we should take,” he says, looking through his phone with one hand over his eye.
