The Soldier's Unsurpassable Honor -
Chapter 4014
Lionel raised his voice, and said firmly and emotionally, "So if Fane had just helped out, there wouldn't have been so many dead! He just watched on as so many people died. He could have stood up and become a leader with how famous he is, but he decided to ignore it all.
"He didn't step up to lead those survivors who were in despair and fight against those people! He had his conflicts with them, but he still refused to do it! There's no reason other than the fact that he looks down on regular warriors. On top of that, he's so selfish. He's clearly even more despicable than those people!"
Fane heard every single one of those words and was a bit taken aback by them. What was he saying? Fane was to be blamed for not helping and for watching those people die?
Fane was only stunned for a few moments before he slowly realized what exactly Mason was saying. Right after Mason said that, quite a few people nodded in agreement, feeling like Mason was right. Fane needed to take responsibility for so many people dying too! Looking at that many people agreeing with him, Mason was even more excited. He was like a spokesperson as he raised his voice again and said, "Fane is not an idiot. I've interacted with him before. He's an incredibly smart person, so he saw through all those schemes. "He clearly knew that everything was a scheme, but he did not tell anyone about it, and caused everyone to be fooled. In the end, so many people died because of that! Heartblood needs to be collected when the victim is in complete fear!
"Those people used such ruthless methods to guarantee they'll get as much Heartblood as possible and caused many people to die. Your fellow disciples or friends-they shouldn't have died! They only lost their lives because Fane is cold-blooded!"
As he said that, Mason's eyes started to turn red. It was as if he was sympathetic toward the victims. That sorrowful look on his face immediately got a lot of the people around him to agree with him.
"You're right! Fane is just too selfish. He clearly knew about everything, but he refused to tell anyone about it. He could have led everyone to fight against those shameless and despicable people in the end, but he ignored everything! He's no different than those people!"
Lionel nodded vigorously, "That's
right! He's in the same boat as those
people. There's no difference between them! He has some conflicts with them, but he refuses to stand with the regular warriors. Those people need to be punished! We should work to make them pay the price!"
He got more and more excited as he spoke, and his blood even started to boil. Quite a few people ended up getting excited as well, and they loudly cheered that they would make Fane pay a price. That was because Fane was the one who caused those they knew to die on the Toman Battlefield.
If Fane had helped, then the situation would not have gotten to that stage. They had the moral high ground, and they blamed Fane for all sorts of things, calling Fane a shameless and despicable person. Slandering Fane and those warriors at the peak as they would stop at nothing for their own benefit.
Lionel continued to shout, "We need to make them pay a painful price! Only then will they stop doing anything to us and stop treating us like livestock!"
"That's right! We have to make them pay a painful price! Those ruthless and despicable men need to know we're not to be played around with! They need to fear even trying to attack us!"
