Desmond finally started to recover. He was breathing heavily, and his whole body was trembling. Tears were all over his face, but he did not care about how he looked at this point. That pain from before was worse than hell!

"Fane, I know what you want to ask. Do you want to know how we controlled the evil beasts and how we observed Wellis?! Don't worry, you'll never replace out!"

Right after he said that, a drop of black blood was seen on the corner of Desmond's mouth. Fane widened his eyes as he immediately grabbed Desmond's throat, but it was already too late.

Fane never expected Desmond to still have a poison pill with him, and for Desmond to consume it without him noticing.

Desmond frantically laughed, "Fane! You're so good at scheming, but you never expected me to still have poison in my mouth!"

Fane frowned and said nothing. Desmond was not waiting for a response either as he continued, "Do you think I'd be like those idiots? I might value my life too, but I know that there are no sure things in life. I always have a poison pill in my mouth to prevent something like this!"

Fane clenched his teeth. He had to admit that Desmond was very decisive. The fact that a warrior at the peak could do something like this changed Fane's perception of them quite a bit.

He had thought that warriors at the peak valued their lives too much, and would never allow themselves to lose their lives. He had thought that warriors at the peak would never keep poison in their mouths.

"You sure are doing a lot to protect those secrets," Fane said coldly.

Desmond started to cough frantically, and black blood constantly flowed out. He used the last of his energy to say, "I didn't do this to keep any secrets. I just don't want my enemies to have the last laugh! I, Desmond, have never helped my enemies!"

Those were Desmond's last words. Fane sighed as he slowly stood up. When faced with someone like Desmond, even Fane was out of ideas.

Lourain raised an eyebrow as he said in a low voice, "I'm actually quite impressed by him. He really is stubborn."

Even though Lourain had not

suffered from his soul being torn

apart before, he had witnessed a lot after being with Fane for so long Practically no one could withstand it. Even though Desmond had not really withstood it as well, he had not submitted to Fane after suffering.

Wellis was next to Lourain when he said, "So what if he's stubborn? He's still dead in the end."

After two hours, Fane and Lourain activated the transfer array to leave the Evil Plains. Before arriving, Fane had sixty-two points, and even as he was leaving, he still had the same amount of points.

He had traversed the Evil Plains with

everyone and experienced many things, but he failed to get a single point in the end. Before leaving the Evil Plains, Lourain had tried to advise Fane against leaving, asking Fane to kill some evil beasts before leaving.

Fane thought about it for a while but refused in the end. The Evil Plains was vast, and countless evil beasts were in there. He would be able to earn many points if he stayed there, but Fane did not want to waste any more time.

He had already caught the scent of a sinister plot. Those people had to be planning something big. So, he needed to move faster. At the very least, he needed to figure out what they were doing.

Pascal had taken the chance to flee

the Evil Plains. The first time Pascal would have done after fleeing would probably have been to spread Fane's news everywhere. Those people have never liked him. With Desmond already dying in his hands, they would never let him off!

In the end, Fane bid Wellis and the others farewell before bringing Lourain into the transfer array, leaving the Evil Plains.
