The Supreme Man: Took Everything in Power
Chapter 955 Test the Waters

"How would I know?!" Albert's sounded weary. "Kendall disappeared last night! No one can replace him now!"

Back when Kenny was still in the Cole Gang, Albert had never had the chance to take the lead. He and Maverick were in similar situations, so they ended up well acquainted. Therefore, he didn't hide anything and explained the situation truthfully.

Of course, Albert believed there was nothing to conceal. The disappearance of the Lawson Group's eldest son was such a significant event that it would inevitably cause a stir.

Upon hearing Albert's words, Maverick froze.

Kendall has indeed disappeared! No wonder this young man said that even Jonah couldn't replace him!

Maverick looked at Kingsley with a complex expression, even more puzzled about his identity.

How did he know this news before it was widely known? Could it be... that he was involved in Kendall's disappearance?! Yes! It must be! This young man never regarded the Lawson Family from the beginning and there seems to be some resentment. If he kidnapped Kendall, everything would make sense!

The more Maverick thought about it, the more alarmed he became. This person dared to kidnap the eldest son of the Lawson Family amid their collaboration with Cole Gang. It was a bold move! On the other end of the phone, Albert wondered, "What's up, Maverick? Why did you suddenly ask about Mr. Kendall?"

Maverick instantly felt a sense of conflict. If he revealed the current situation, it was very likely to locate Kendall and earn significant credit in front of Jarett. However, he hesitated. He couldn't quite figure out why Kingsley had asked him to make this call.

After a moment of contemplation, Maverick chuckled. "Ah, it's nothing. I have a relative who wants to work as security at Lawson Group and asked if I had any connections."

Albert sighed at that. "Maverick, I'm not trying to criticize you, but at this crucial moment, don't worry about these trivial matters. Do you know—"

Before Albert could finish his sentence, Maverick hung up the phone. His palms were already sweaty.

Seeing that Maverick didn't reveal anything, Kingsley nodded in approval.

The reason he had Maverick make the call was twofold. First, he wanted to intimidate Quintus, urging him to stay out of this matter and hand over River willingly. After all, he had no grudges with this production crew and didn't want to deal with them. The second reason was to gauge Maverick's character.

Kingsley knew that he would

eventually have to deal with Jarett. However, forcibly moving the

massive entity of Cole Gang through violence would undoubtedly throw the entire underworld into chaos, affecting the lives of ordinary people. Kingsley was unwilling to let such a situation unfold. Therefore, his initial plan was to use Rayden to provide support from within the Cole Gang. But Rayden was a lone force, and having someone from within the gang helping him would be much

more effective.

Just a moment ago, Kingsley had found a candidate. He admired Maverick's filial piety and believed he was someone worth employing. That was why he had Maverick make this call, to test the waters.

Of course, if Maverick had directly reported to Jarett, claiming to have found the person who kidnapped Kendall, Kingsley would immediately give up on this idea. Fortunately, Maverick didn't disappoint him.

After hanging up the phone, Robert immediately asked, "What exactly are you guys up to? Mr. Towry and Mr. Zarnell are busy people; they don't have time for your cryptic games!" Maverick took a deep breath and said solemnly, "I've already asked the chief strategist of Cole Gang. Mr. Kendall disappeared last night... No one can reach him!"

"What?!"
