Chapter 180

George sat beside the bed, watched her for a while, lowered his head, and kissed her lips lightly. The soft breeze blew in, and the gauze curtain was lifted lightly, bringing in a charming silence.

The man was wearing a black shirt, and Suzy's skin was porcelain white, so the two were contrasting each other. They clashed yet were coincidentally matching.

Suzy quickly opened her eyes and looked at the man while half-awake. Her ignorant and pure appearance made the man unable to help himself but to deepen the kiss.

Suzy stretched out her hands, hooked them around the man's neck, and raised her head in response.

After a long time, the man got up slightly. His eyes appeared gentle and soft. "Are you hungry? I'll take you out for a meal."

Suzy tilted her head, rubbed it on his arm, and replied softly, "Mm."

George could not hold his smile back when looking at her soft demeanor. He kissed her hair comfortingly, then got up and went to the cloakroom to replace clothes for her.

He chose a mint green light-colored long dress with slightly puffed sleeves. It was about ankle-length for her. It was incredibly modest but cute.

Suzy did not need to put on makeup. She merely pulled her hair up and changed her clothes before going out the door with George.

Lunch was served at the hotel inside the manor's boundary. Bennett and Winona were already waiting there, laughing in low voices. Seeing the two enter the door, Winona immediately got up and hugged Suzy's arm affectionately. "I wanted to look for you earlier, Ms. Shirley. But Mr. Laine said that you were resting, so I didn't want to bother you."

Suzy smiled, "My apologies."

"It's alright!" Winona smiled charmingly. "I'm just jealous that Mr. Laine was being so considerate."

Bennett joked, "You say it as if I don't treat you well."

Winona snorted coquettishly, "Not as good as how I treat you!"

Bennett shrugged and smiled at this. That was truly hard to deny,

George could sense that Suzy did not like being in close proximity with others, so he pulled out the chair beside him instead, "Sit over here."

Suzy took advantage of the situation to leave Winona's arm and sat beside George obediently. The dishes were served one at a time, and there were cuisines from various nations to suit everyone's palate.

An attendant came over to pour the alcohol, and Bennett narrowed his eyes at Suzy, saying," Pour Ms. Shirley a glass too."

George's voice was gentle as he said, "No need. She doesn't drink."

Bennett raised his eyebrows, seemingly surprised. "Is that so?"

Winona smiled and said, "Then I'll drink juice with Ms. Shirley."

During their meal, Bennett and George talked about the matters regarding their cooperation, while Winona continuously placed food on George's plate. She thoughtfully put the crab roe in a white porcelain spoon. With a gentle expression, she told him to open his mouth and fed him like she was coaxing a child. 1

The two were behaving naturally as if this was how they usually got along.

Suzy inexplicably remembered the scene of servants serving grapes to ancient kings on TV.

She glanced at George and wondered if she should be getting him food under such circumstances?

As if there George could read her mind, he turned his head to look over at her and said in a low voice, "Just eat your meal. There's no need to mind me."

Afterward, he even put a piece of beef filet that she liked on her plate.

Suzy raised her eyebrows and ate her meal seriously.

She would occasionally pay attention to what George and Bennett were discussing. They wanted to cooperate in the development of an artificial intelligence project. There was also a third party that they would cooperate with, which was the Merck family from Glooney Nation. The Gloonies monopolized the most important core technology, and they were looking for partners from Cantent. Ultimately, they chose the Laines and the Townsends.

However, whether it could be negotiated into a true cooperation would depend entirely on this meeting
