They reached the guest room, where Walter's voice rang out, icy and sharp, "Mr. Nelson, being this audacious, are you ignoring me?" Walter exuded a chilling presence, not yielding at all to Cody, his elder.

Cody turned to look over, and when he saw Shakira, his anger flared even more inside him.

Instinctively, he took a few steps towards Shakira, his expression fierce. But the next second, faced with Walter's chilling gaze that seemed to disregard everything, he froze in his tracks, a shiver running through him.

Still, Cody didn't back down verbally and said, "Stop with the nonsense, Walter. Our families have been on friendly terms for over a century, and I'm old friends with your parents. Are you really going to defy your elders and ruin our longstanding relationship over a woman?"

Seeing Shakira still looking indifferent, Cody was at his wit's end. Frustrated, he finally, attempted to provoke Walter.

He said, "Mr. Lopez, you heard it yourself. Shakira has no heart! She won't appreciate how well you treat or protect her. She'll just take it for granted. If someone more powerful comes along, she'll dump you and move on to the next big shot!"

Walter didn't care much. He seemed like a ruler bewitched by Shakira's beauty, and said bluntly, hurting Cody's fragile heart, "Mr. Nelson, don't worry. The Lopez family won't decline like yours. No matter what happens, I'll always be Shakira's biggest and strongest support."
