Chapter 122:

? ? ? ? ?

Alice didn't know what to answer.

Once Caden was done, he picked Alicia up and carried her to the bathroom to clean up. They hadn't done it all the way, but they were both exhausted, their bodies drenched in sweat.

Alicia soaked in the tub while Caden showered on the other side of the transparent glass screen. The distance between them was small, only the thin partition separated them.

Caden turned off the faucet and began applying soap to his skin.

Alicia leaned her head on the edge of the tub and spoke clearly. “Actually, the reason I came today was to talk about our collaboration.”

Caden replied, “I know.”

Alice looked at him, speaking seriously. “We have to sign a contract.”

Caden listened intently, maintaining his usual composure. “What do you want to include?” I have asked.

Alice tapped the glass with her fingers, tracing random shapes as she spoke. “To collaborate, we must have common goals. If one of us needs support, the other must provide it without hesitation, provided it is reasonable. There must be no tricks or deception, and we must avoid any possibility of blackmail.”

Caden paused briefly and asked, “What kind of needs are you talking about?”

Alicia answered directly: “Managing Joshua, of course.”

“I see.” He gave her a simple nod. “Sounds good to me.”

Alicia continued: “The whole agreement must be confidential. No one else must replace out.”

“Understood,” Caden said.

Alice continued to draw larger patterns on the glass. As her lines grew larger, her eyes saw something unexpected.

She blushed and quickly looked away.

"As for compensation, tell me what you think and I'll offer you what I can."

Caden raised an eyebrow. “Why would I need compensation from you?”

She hesitated for a moment. “The deal is not equal. “You will probably end up contributing more, so I can only try to compensate you financially.”

Caden didn't respond immediately. He rinsed the soap off his body and put it on a robe.

Without warning, I opened the glass door.

Alice was surprised by the sudden movement. Instinctively she went deeper into the water, letting the bubbles hide her chest.

Caden's eyes fell on the bite mark along his collarbone. “I don't need any compensation.”

Alicia understood that Caden was not short of money, but she still felt guilty. “You are already at a disadvantage in this society. And, well, whenever we are in the mood… you are always the one who puts in all the effort. What if you get tired of it and start complaining?”

Caden was momentarily speechless.

After a brief hesitation, he asked, “Do you really think I'm at a disadvantage when we're intimate?”

“What else could it be?” she replied.

He wiped some water from his hair, apparently thoughtful.

Suddenly, curiosity struck him. “Have you ever read those romance novels about dominating CEOs?”

Alice shook her head.

The sudden movement made her feel dizzy and she quickly covered her face to calm herself.

"Those books are for teenagers. I was too busy with my studies to read them," she said.

She looked at Caden curiously. “Have you read them?”

Caden avoided answering directly. “You should try reading one sometime. Maybe it will help you see that it's okay for women to be a little more dependent on men. “Life doesn’t always have to be so stressful.”

He knew she had had financial problems.

And now, despite all that, she was trying to offer him compensation.

Caden walked out of the bathroom, leaving her alone. Alicia got out of the tub, rinsed off the bubbles, and got dressed.

They had discussed the terms of the contract, which outlined their collaboration for the following year.

Caden, however, made some adjustments to the final clause. He added: “During the collaboration, Party A can make any request, and Party B must comply without hesitation. In personal matters, Party B has the right to ask Party A for privacy at any time, and Party A cannot refuse except in special circumstances.”

Alice frowned and asked, “Isn’t this just a sex trade?”

Caden took a sip of water. “Of course. Considering how much you seem to desire my body, it makes sense. Earlier on the couch, when…”

Alicia couldn't respond to Caden's comment. She really didn't need to bring up those details.

The terms were clearly in her favor, and Caden didn't seem to care, so Alicia decided there was no reason to hesitate.

He picked up the pen and signed his name.

Caden spoke again. “Our private relationship must remain secret.”

Alice paused, sensing that something was wrong. Still, she nodded and said, “I understand.”

This arrangement was not a typical relationship. If anyone found out, it could have consequences for him in the future.

Anyway, Alice didn't plan to make anything public.

With everything arranged, he began to prepare to return to the hospital.

Caden walked her to the door. “When you were living with the Yates family, what exactly did you say to Joshua to get him to stop touching you?”

Alice hesitated, feeling that he was questioning her honesty. After a moment, she reluctantly replied, “I told him I was on my period.”

Caden's response was curt. “I see. Just so you know, if you ever use that excuse with me again, I'll make sure you regret it. “I’ll make it so you can’t get out of bed.”

Alice was speechless.

How had he managed to fall for her threats again?

As he was leaving, a bell range in his pocket.

Alice reached into her pocket. “How timely,” she murmured.

However, the call turned out to be bad news.

The landlord's voice sounded agitated. "What's going on down there? There's water downstairs. Come here and open the door right now."
