Chapter 146:

? ? ? ? ?

As Caden began the countdown, Alicia felt the pressure hit her hard.

She quickly covered her watch with her hand, her cheeks flushed from the heat. “Three seconds? Really? For something this big, you should give me at least three days.”

Caden raised an eyebrow and calmly pulled his hand away. “I have the proof. If you want it, you'll have to play by my rules.”

He looked at his watch again. “And now, your time is up.”

Alicia tried to steer the conversation back. “How do I know you actually have the evidence? Let me see it.” Caden saw through his attempt immediately. “You just want to confirm it so you can track it down somewhere else, right?”

Alice was speechless.

I had forgotten how sharp it was.

"Ugh, it's the devil!" he groaned himself.

Caden saw the frustration on her face and could tell she was silently cursing him. That seemed to only lift her spirits.

The whole situation seemed strangely amusing to him.

“I work non-stop at the company every day, and just like that, $300 million of my money disappears. I gave it away to buy evidence that has nothing to do with me. After all that, I still come back here to keep you satisfied, squeezing every minute out of my day. And you, Miss Bennett, what exactly have you done?”

Alicia was caught off guard by his sudden change in tone. He made it sound like she'd been working like a slave, but hearing those words from him was oddly irritating. Caden wasn't done. “The day I had dinner with Randolph, I didn't touch a single morsel of food. When I asked you about dinner, my stomach was completely empty. I was starving. And where were you? “Curled up with your ex-husband.”

Alice twisted her lips. “‘Curled up’? That’s ridiculous.”

“But you didn't deny it at the time,” Caden replied softly.

This time, she was speechless.

Talking to someone as unreasonable as Caden only led to frustration.

He could barely get a word out.

No matter how things went, he always found a way to blame her.

“You're talking about the agreement now, right?” Alicia wasn't going to let him distract her. She gritted her teeth and said, “Let’s renegotiate how many times a month.”

Caden didn't budge. “The agreement is already signed and in force. There can be no further amendments.”

“We changed it last time, didn't we?” Alice replied.

“Weren't you the one who added those changes? Shouldn’t it be my turn to make amendments to the agreement?” Caden retorts.

Alice was speechless again.

Caden seized the moment.

"Well, since it's my turn, I think twenty times a month sounds fair."

Then he sat down and turned on his computer.

"I like the sound of that," he said.

Alice's eyes widened in disbelief, and she quickly interrupted. “What? No. I didn’t agree to that change.”

Caden smiled with satisfaction at her reaction. “So, are we sticking with the current arrangement?”

Alice was silent, mentally calculating. With five days off a month, that meant every three days.

It was too much.

With Caden's strength and endless stamina, every time they had sex he left her completely exhausted. If this kept up, she was sure she wouldn't last much longer. For the sake of her own sanity, she protested, "This has to change. Ten times a month is too much."

Caden scoffed at her insistence. “You were the one who wrote 'ten' in the first place. Are you breaking your word?”

Alice frowned, sensing that something was wrong. “No, that doesn't make sense. Something doesn’t add up.”

“The only thing that's wrong is you,” Caden said, sliding his chair closer as he pointed at the keyboard.

"You were lying here, face down, typing so fast I couldn't even catch you. In the heat of the moment, you typed 'ten times.'" He was about to say something else when Alice quickly covered his mouth.

Blushing, she whispered harshly, “Stop saying that! “You were the one who got me into this.”

Caden inhaled the faint scent of her hand cream, replaceing it surprisingly pleasant.

He didn't take his hand away from her. Instead, he exhaled softly into her palm. “There are just the two of us here. Why do you care about being decent?”

Alice felt a tingling sensation in her hand and quickly pulled it away, scratching the itch. “If the cockroaches hear you, they might get ideas and start multiplying tonight!”

Caden remained silent, thinking to himself.

Maybe he was better at this than I thought.

Maybe starting a side business wasn't such a bad idea. Meanwhile, Alice refused to give up, trying by all means to negotiate the figure down.

Caden had already lost his patience. With a quick tap on the keyboard, he said, “If you can't decide, I'll do it for you.” I have typed thirty.

Alice's eyes shot open. "Thirty? You just said twenty!"

"Thirty is the minimum I need," he replied nonchalantly.

“Thirty? You might as well kill me.” Alice finally gave in. “Well, have it then!”

Caden tapped the mouse with his slender fingers. “Too beats. “Either the deal is off, or we go with thirty.”

"I never agreed to change the agreement!"

“I have the evidence, and your opinion doesn't matter much here.” Caden looked at her calmly. “Miss Bennett, if you want to play hardball, I can make it a lot harder for you.”

Alice froze.

He was threatening her again.

She hated how powerless she felt in front of him, and even more, how tempting the evidence was.

Sighing in defeat, she muttered, “Eleven times.”

Caden's smile widened.

"You're being stingy." She leaned back and added,

"Twenty-nine times."
