Chapter 168:

? ? ? ? ?

Alice didn't dare to refuse him.

After a passionate session of sex, he held her in his arms, rocking her tightly as he carried her upstairs. The apartment had been completely renovated, but Alicia had not returned for some time.

As they entered the room, her gaze drifted to the newly installed floor-to-ceiling mirror in the living room. Still dazed and confused by the intimacy, she blinked in confusion.

«Why is there a mirror there?

There were already a lot of mirrors in the wardrobe, so this one looked unnecessarily large and out of place.

Instead of explaining it to her, he led her to the mirror.

After all, actions spoke louder than words.

Although he had already satisfied his desires before, he was not finished.

Now he felt even more excited than before.

The atmosphere between them became strained, the room throbbing with an unspoken hunger.

He picked up a bottle of red wine and poured himself into a glass. He took a slow sip and let it coat his throat before letting the rest fall over her skin, the cool liquid falling over her like a waterfall of silk.

Alicia gasped and a shiver ran down her spine.

“Too cold?” he purred, his voice thick with desire. His lips brushed her collarbone as he licked the wine from her skin, a sensation that sent sparks flying through her.

Alice shook her head, breathless.

“No…just tickling,” she whispered.

The sensation of the wine running down her neck, combined with his heated kisses, was almost too much to bear. Soon her knees buckled and she could barely stand.

She wanted to pull away, but her body was begging for more. Her heart was beating to the rhythm of each caress.

He made sure that not a single drop of wine was wasted, and her body was left glistening.

“Do you like the mirror?” Caden asked her, his voice full of mischief, as he watched her give herself over to the moment. Alicia remained silent, her lips parted but not saying a word.

I couldn't answer, not like that.

“I like it,” he murmured, a playful glint in his eyes. “It reflects everything… so clearly.”

Alicia was more than frustrated, her nerves frayed by the whirlwind of sensations.

Without a word, Caden effortlessly picked her up and carried her straight to the bedroom.

His breath was warm against her ear as he whispered, “I have many more surprises for you, and I will show them all to you, one by one.”

In the bathroom, the sink had been lowered to the perfect height so she could sit comfortably while he stepped in. A sturdy grab bar had also been installed in the shower.

After what seemed like an eternity in the steamy bathroom, Alice collapsed onto the bed, completely exhausted. Opening her eyes, her heart sank at the sight above her.

"Caden, you pervert!" she exclaimed, burying her face in the pillow.

There was another mirror, this time on the ceiling. Heat flooded her cheeks and she closed her eyes, unable to face reality.

Caden, however, seemed fascinated, his smile growing ever wider.

He wasn't done with her yet, far from it.

There was something about her that drove him crazy, that pushed him to heights he had never explored before.

In fact, things in bed got so intense that they inadvertently activated the smart bed's security system.

An alarm sounded and a bright red beam of infrared light passed over them.

“Warning: Potential danger detected,” the AI system said in a mechanical voice. “Mr. Ward, do you need me to call the authorities?”

Alice stifled a giggle, barely managing to maintain her composure.

Even Caden couldn't help but let out a low chuckle. He wanted to stifle it, but he refused to pull away from Alicia's soft, warm body.

“Shut up,” he ordered, trying to hold on to what little dignity he had left. “Don't you dare say another word.”

"Mr. Ward, your voice sounds strained. Do you need help?"

Grumbling, Caden muttered, “What a useless system… Don't you see? “I’m just… having fun.”

The AI paused, as if processing his statement, before replying, “I'm sorry, Mr. Ward. “I don’t understand.”

Caden was speechless, his frustration mounting as Alicia's giggles turned into laughter. Her soft, smooth legs slid around her waist as she collapsed onto the mattress, gasping for air.

He grabbed her ankles quickly, giving her a playful slap on the buttocks. “What are you laughing at? And who said you could let go?”

"Mr. Ward, please clarify what you mean by 'let go,'" the ever-helpful system chimed in again.

Caden groaned, shaking his head in disbelief.

Alice was in a mess, gasping for air between uncontrollable giggles: “I… I’m dying…”

The AI system, picking up on the trigger words, responds in its usual mechanical tone: “Understood. Initiating emergency call.”

Unable to contain herself, Alice burst out laughing again, the sound of which grated on Caden's nerves.

Already nervous, he glared at her before taking matters into his own hands. With a snap of his fingers, he manually shut down the system.

The next moment, the room fell into a tense silence. “Finally,” he muttered in a deep voice, breaking the silence as he regained his focus. “I’ll have someone take it down tomorrow.”

That same night, while Alicia was falling asleep, Caden looked at his phone and saw that he had two missed calls.

The familiar number made his jaw clench, instantly cooling the embers of desire that had been burning within him just moments ago.

He went out and dialed the number again.

“Uncle Blake,” he greeted.

On the other end of the line, Blake Langstaff's voice was firm and serious, straight to the point. "The Moss family is willing to negotiate with us."

Caden wasn't surprised. He leaned against the railing, his eyes scanning the silent night.

“What were your conditions?” he asked, his tone calm and collected.

“No conditions. They just asked when you would be available to come to Devarlton and meet them,” Blake replied. After a pause, he added, “Remember Yolanda?”

Caden frowned. The name brought back a distant memory.

He replayed it in his mind until a flash of recognition hit him. “Yolanda Moss? “The youngest daughter?” I have murmured.

“Exactly. You met her once when you were five. There was some joke about marrying her back then.”

Caden felt a lump in his throat. Absentmindedly, he lit one of the scented candles nearby, the one Alicia had made.

Her familiar, soothing scent filled the air, subtle and calming, like her presence. She had grown accustomed to falling asleep to that scent.

“We were kids,” he said, his voice laced with indifference. “That joke means nothing now.”

Blake's tone became more measured. "Maybe for you. But her father, Dorian Moss, has always liked you. He's been getting close to Ciara."

Caden twirled the lighter in his hand, his eyes distant. “I respect a man’s preferences, but I don’t like men.”

Blake sighed in exasperation. “Come on, be serious. “He wants you as his son-in-law.”

A ghost of a smile touched Caden's lips. “I don't like women either.”

His patience wearing thin, Blake got to the point. “What if the deal is on the condition that you marry Yolanda?”
