Chapter 176:

? ? ? ? ?

Alice shrugged and went back to her work.

It wasn't until after three in the morning that she finally finished her choruses. Feeling completely exhausted, she could barely keep her eyes open. She took a quick shower and went straight to bed.

The next morning, she was awakened by strange noises. Still groggy, she pulled the blanket over her head, hoping to fall back asleep. Just as she was drifting off to sleep, something landed on her chest.

She groaned and threw the blanket aside in frustration. “Caden, what's going on?”

Opening her eyes, she saw Caden standing in the doorway with a nonchalant expression. For a moment, she was shocked. Then she saw the real culprit on the bed: Cade, the dog, sitting there with innocent eyes and his tongue hanging out.

With a sigh, she picked him up and held him close, hoping to get some more sleep.

However, Caden's voice brought her out of her reverie. "I just pooped."

His words woke Alicia up. Cade jumped at her without warning, eagerly licking her face. He trotted around her several times before sitting directly on her face.

Alicia stood there, too stunned to speak. After washing her face, she walked out of the bathroom, her irritation with Caden growing.

He seemed completely indifferent, having as if nothing strange had happened.

"Why did you let him into my room so early? Are you trying to ruin my day?" she asked.

Caden sat back in his chair, unconcerned with his work. “I had nothing to do with it. “He came into your room on his own.”

"Do you expect me to believe that I have opened the door alone?"

"Yes. He's actually pretty good at it."

Once again, Alice was speechless.

He was searching with frustration, unable to replace an outlet for his anger. After a long silence, he finally burst out: “You are incredibly childish!”

Caden looked at her coldly. “You're just grumpy because you didn't get the invitation, aren't you?”

Alice calmed down and replied: "That's none of your business."

“Fine,” Caden said, assuming she was just being stubborn. “If you don't make it and decide you need my help, I'll be available until noon. After that, even if you ask me, nothing will change.”

Alice scoffed. “Don't expect me to ask you.”

"As you wish," he replied.

Determined, Alicia invited Monica to accompany her to the art exhibition. She had already chosen a dress for Monica and planned to pick it up at the boutique and deliver it to her.

After changing into her own dress, she left the apartment. Only when she heard the door close did Caden look up. I have noticed the untouched breakfast table. She was already gone.

His expression turned cold and he couldn't concentrate on his work anymore. He threw the documents aside. The papers fell on Cade, the dog resting at his feet, causing him to howl.

Caden frowned at the dog. “You're in the way.” Cade felt hurt and wanted to be comforted, but he hesitated to snuggle up against Caden's leg.

Instead, he paced around the living room, looking for Alice.

Caden kept a stern expression. “Eat here,” he ordered.

Cade felt scared and refused to move. He curled up on the pink pillow and lowered his head.

Caden frowned. I have noticed that Cade, despite being a small dog, had quite a bit of character. The dog reminded him of Alice.

Caden wondered if he had accidentally hurt Caden. I have called out to him several times without receiving a response and decided to approach him.

Just as Caden bent down to check on Cade, the door flew open. He looked up and met Alicia's eyes.

As soon as Alice entered, Cade's ears prickled up. He lunged at her, wrapping his arms around her legs and letting out soft whimpers. Alice picked him up and gently stroked his fur. Sensing her distress, she turned to Caden. “Did you do something to Cade?” she asked.

Cade whimpered again, as if complaining of mistreatment.

Caden remained expressionless. “You picked a bad time to come back. “I was about to strangle him,” he said.

Alicia stared at him in disbelief. Gripping Cade closer, she glared at Caden. “That's the most twisted thing you've ever said,” she grew up. She headed into the bedroom, grabbed a few belongings, and headed for the door.

Caden watched her go. “If you need my help, just let me know. There’s no point in wasting time,” he said.

She ignored his comment, thinking how absurd it was. “If you lay a finger on Cade, you'll regret it,” she warned him.

Caden looked at the dog. “Once you're gone, I can't promise what might happen to him,” he replied.

Anger flared in Alice's eyes. Realizing she couldn't win either an argument or a physical confrontation, Alice decided to completely ignore Caden and walked out of the apartment with Cade in her arms. As she left, she shouted loudly, "And you can't wear the long johns I bought you!"

Caden stood there, momentarily speechless.

Alicia decided to temporarily leave Cade at a pet store, intending to pick him up after running her errands that afternoon.

When Monica received the dress, she was ecstatic and immediately tried it on.

“Where's your dress?” Monica asked anxiously, her eyes shining with excitement. “Alicia, try yours on. “I’ll even do your makeup.”

"I have important matters to attend to today. My appearance is not a priority," Alice replied.

“But it's absolutely important!” Monica said seriously. “Today you finally face Joshua. “You should look impressive and make him realize what he’s lost.” Her words made Alicia pause.

Yes, today was the day to put an end to everything. Once it was over, her agreement with Caden would also come to an end.

These were two significant events worth celebrating.

By the time Alicia came out of her thoughts, Monica was already leading her towards the bedroom.

He looked at himself in the mirror.

There was no joy in his expression. He saw only his own indifference.

The dress was intricate and difficult to manage. Alice struggled with it for quite a while.

Just as he was about to zip up his pants, his phone range. It was Caden.
