Chapter 256:

Caden stopped dead in his tracks and gave a subtle signal to Hank.

Hank picked up on Caden's silent signal and quickly followed Dorian to the exit.

When they reached the elevator, Hank obediently pressed the button and waited for him.

After Dorian had left, Alice left the living room, gathering her belongings as she headed for the door.

“I’m heading for the gallery,” she announced.

“If I don’t leave now, I’ll be working late tonight.”

Caden nodded.

Moments ago, she had been burning with desire.

However, after seeing Dorian, the mood had been ruined.

And because of that, she no longer felt like continuing where they had left off.

“You drove here alone?” Caden asked.

Alice nodded.

“You don’t need to take me.

I can go alone.”

Caden stood up from his chair and walked over to the desk.

Then he picked up the phone and dialed a number.

“Have you heard from that doctor I asked you for?” he asked.

The voice on the phone sounded regretful.

“Mr.

Ward, you’re too busy to get out of town.

If you want to skip the line, you’ll have to bring the patient in person.”

Caden's expression darkened as he glanced at his calendar, scanning through upcoming meetings.

“Keep me posted as soon as you hear anything new,” Caden said.

Alicia headed towards the CEO's private elevator, as she always did.

When he arrived, he was startled to see Dorian inside.

Their eyes met for a moment and the atmosphere became tense.

It was the first time Alice had seen him in person.

He was once a prominent figure, and his authority was still evident, although in recent years he had kept a lower profile.

Alicia took a step back, knowing that as her subordinate it was her job to let him go first.

Dorian frowned.

When she got to the ground floor, she realized she had left her phone in Caden's office and decided to go back.

As she got out of the elevator, she looked back at Alicia.

Alice noticed him staring at her and smiled.

“Mr.

Moss, I’ve heard a lot about you.”

Dorian didn't expect her to be so calm.

He asked, “Miss Bennett, I remember you don’t work here.

What brings you here?”

Alicia replied, “I’ve worked with Caden in the past.

I stopped by to check out some new items.”

He presented his business card and asked, “Are you interested in art, Mr.

Moss?”
