The unwanted wife’s unexpected comeback -
Chapter 43
Chapter 43:
? ? ? ? ?
A sudden shock hit Alice, like an unexpected scare in a horror movie.
An overwhelming weakness took hold of her, causing her to fall to her side.
Caden reached out and pulled her into a tight hug.
He grabbed a coat that was nearby and put it over his head.
Well…
Realizing she had no choice, Alice agreed to the situation that now seemed like a secret date.
Gerry sat up, his eyes still closed. After a moment I squinted. “Did I fall asleep?” I have asked.
Caden chose not to answer.
Gerry noticed Caden holding something large and felt a jolt of surprise. “What are you doing?” I have asked.
The big coat hid most of Alice, but her legs were still visible, hanging down on either side.
Caden gently picked up her legs and tucked them under his coat. “What do you think?” I have replied.
Still dazed, Gerry asked, "Is the Viagra kicking in yet?"
Alice felt a flush of intense embarrassment.
She tilted her head slightly. She brushed the collar of his shirt and her warm breath reached his chest.
An intense heat seemed to flow between them. Neither of them could tell who was making the other's temperature rise.
He spoke in a slightly hoarse voice. “Maybe, but I can't hold back any longer.”
Alice couldn't stand his teasing any longer. She slipped her hand under his shirt and pinched his waist.
Caden let out a soft growl.
“Don't be hasty,” he said calmly. He hugged Alice tightly to calm her. “Gerry is still here. “Let’s wait for him to leave.”
Alice felt a wave of exasperation.
Gerry had never seen him act like that before. It was uncomfortable to watch him.
He got up from the table and stood up. “You're quite a character, Caden. Making moves right here? Did I wake up at the wrong time?”
Caden remained silent. He gently ran his fingers along Alicia's knee.
Her figure was graceful, and the touch of her soft skin was intoxicating.
Gerry had woken up. He needed to go to the bathroom, so he headed for the door.
"Perhaps I should book you a private room," I suggested. "It's disrespectful to the lady to continue like this here."
Caden smiled slyly. “That's unnecessary. In fact, she prefers it that way.”
"Amazing! You two are something else," he said, shaking his head.
Feeling an urgent need to relieve himself, Gerry quickly left the room.
As soon as the door closed behind him, Alicia pushed Caden aside and stood quickly.
“Do you think Gerry have noticed something?” she asked, adjusting her clothes and trying to appear calm. “If he does, I’ll be too embarrassed to face him again.”
Caden stood up. “Why don't you go and ask him yourself?”
She sighed and cleared her throat. “We agreed that our debts were now settled.”
Caden stared at her, his eyes conveying a depth of meaning that was impossible to ignore.
“Leaving aside any personal feelings, did you feel anything during that kiss?” I have asked.
Alicia felt a lump form in her throat and found it difficult to respond.
She decided to remain silent and turned her back. Caden was smiling with satisfaction, his eyes flickering with amusement.
She could deny it endlessly, but the undeniable truth was that her body had reacted.
He may not have had much importance in Alice's life, but her body's response suggested otherwise.
I stayed in the room for another half hour before deciding to leave.
The door was left open when he left.
Meanwhile, Gerry had washed off the alcohol and taken some hangover medicine. On his way back, he met Alicia.
“Where have you been?” I have asked her.
She felt surprised. “Are you still here? I noticed you were drunk. “I went out to get something to eat and just got back.”
Caden chuckled.
He certainly had acting talent.
Gerry peeked into the room and saw that only Caden was inside. A feeling of relief washed over him as he entered.
“Is that girl gone?” Gerry asked.
Caden gave Alicia a subtle glance.
Meanwhile, Alice was playing with her fingers.
“He left,” Caden replied.
Tired of drinking, Gerry wanted to go home and sleep. The three of them left the club together. As soon as I got into the car, I examined Caden closely.
A slight redness around the eyes made it clear what had happened.
Gerry clicked his tongue and turned to Alicia. “That Viagra you gave Caden is really something. “He took two pills and it cured his lack of interest in women.”
Although Alice usually kept her composure in any situation, at that moment she was nervous.
Forcing a chuckle, she said, “Really? “I actually bought it on impulse.”
"You're the only one who can cure him," Gerry commented.
Alicia felt a wave of shame wash over her.
The situation was anything but commendable.
Gerry was curious and asked Caden, “It couldn't have just been the medicine, right? Was the girl particularly attractive?”
Caden replied nonchalantly, “Sorry to disappoint you, but it was pretty ordinary.”
Irritation welled up inside Alice.
Gerry remained skeptical. “You're so selective. If she was really ordinary, you wouldn't have been interested. Who was she? “Do I know her?”
Caden enjoyed engaging in these types of conversations.
"You've already met her."
“Have I met her?” Gerry exclaimed in surprise. “What's her name? Who is she?”
Alicia reached her breaking point and spoke up. “Mr. Hopkins, could you recommend a good lawyer? Lilliana is turning public opinion against me on the Internet and I want to take legal action.”
Gerry stopped gossiping and focused all his attention on her.
Alicia had composed a song for him, which had brought a lot of attention to the new movie she was promoting. He felt that helping her was the least he could do in return.
Gerry quickly pulled out a business card and handed it to him.
"Jeffery Benson is the most renowned lawyer around. However, it has been difficult to get an appointment with him lately," she informed him.
As Alicia accepted the card, Caden glanced at it.
“Jeffery Benson?” Caden asked.
Gerry agreed. “Yeah. What's going on? Are you planning to help Alicia?”
Caden turned to Alicia. “I'd help anyone else, but not you. You’re too annoying.”
Alice mocked him. “Do you not want to help, or is it that you cannot secure his services?”
Caden raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
Despite their disagreements, Alice continued to thank Gerry.
Gerry was curious. “So what's your plan? Are you going to take legal action against them?”
