Lucas'

POV:

As I opened my eyes, the sun was just beginning to rise. Last night was successful, and everyone had fun, especially my mate. Having her friend discharged and around gave her a different kind of happiness. And I was glad that Lola was able to warm up with

everyone quickly. I guess our visits to the hospital helped. Today is the start of our training with the Midnight Moon pack. I have to check if everything is ready. Before I changed into my workout clothes, I quickly went over to Cory and kissed her on the forehead. She looks adorable when asleep, and there is still a faint smell of coffee on her. I wondered if she changed her shampoo.

After changing, I quickly went to the office and checked a few documents for today. At around 7 in the morning, I heard a knock.

"Hey, good morning!"

"Hi, beautiful! You're up early. The training doesn't start until 9." I am glad it is her face I see every time I wake up. It gives me some energy to kickstart the day.

"Are you busy?"

"No, babe. I am almost done. What's up?"

"Hmm. I promised the others I would tell you, so here goes."

This piqued my interest and got me alert.

"So, yesterday, all of us went to buy ingredients and stuff for last night. Iris, Elias, and I went to a cafe to wait for Ellie and Tommy." She told me how Iris forgot to buy something, Elias needed to accompany her, and how she was alone in the cafe when the pack's Luna came to her.

"I didn't talk to them, and it triggered them.

"What did she do?!" I am trying not to snarl because I would just scare Cory.

"She poured coffee onto me..."

I am completely stunned by this. Their Luna, Chloe, is what they call her, I believe, has the guts to do that to my mate?! I bet that Alpha did not inform the pack that Cory is my mate, or she wouldn't do that.

"Things got heated up. But when Alpha Austin arrived, he took Chloe immediately and left. He did apologize on behalf of her. So yeah, that's pretty much it."

I am outraged! I stood up and paced around the room. I took a deep breath and said,

"Go get your breakfast, babe. And change into your training clothes. Alright? We need to start the training soon."

"B-but are you OK? I mean, you know."

"Honestly, babe. I am this little from lashing out and punishing them."

"So, you won't be punishing them, right?"

I shrugged and kissed her forehead. "Go now, babe. I'll head down in a little while. I need to talk to Silas about today."

"B-But Lucas."

"You have to eat, babe. It's going to be a long day."

She did not protest any longer, and my office. Aside from Silas, I also called Elias and Iris. They immediately came when I shouted through the mind link. I bet that woke them better than a cup of coffee. "Your majesty!"

"I heard what happened yesterday."

"Y-your majesty, we can explain," Iris said.

"Oh no, no, no, Iris. You don't need to explain anything."

"Why did you call us then, your majesty?" Silas asked.

"We just have to run through the training later. Here is the schedule, the groupings, and other details for the training. Make sure everyone is present and on time. If someone is late, make them work thrice as hard. And Iris, I called you specifically because I want you to do something." "What is it, your majesty?"

"Chloe. Keep a close eye on her. If she even muttered a word of complaint, whined, or disrespected anyone, make sure she gets what she deserves. My training, my rules. They asked for this training, and part of it was to discipline their fighters. Clear?" "Yes, your majesty!"

After being dismissed, everyone went to make the final preparations. At around a quarter to 9, we head to the arena. It was substantial and could host more than 80 individuals from the pack. Additionally, it was suitable for conducting sparring sessions with ease and convenience. When we arrived, whispers and murmurs started. Cory and I were side by side.

"What is she doing with them?" one whispered.

"Was she appointed by our Alpha to help them?"

"Is she going to train too?"

"Why are the omegas here?"

I leaned in and whispered something to Cory.

"Ready, babe?" Then, I held her hand.

The whole arena was completely still and quiet. I heard oohs and aahs from all around the room. I hope this serves as a warning to everyone who dares to talk badly about her. Then, I looked at their Alpha. I caught him stealing a glance at our held hands. We waited a couple more minutes for the others to arrive, then started. I stood in front of the arena and commenced the training.

"Everyone, thank you for joining this 2-week session! Your kind Alpha proposed this to me, and there is no way we would decline this request. A stronger pack contributes to creating a stronger kingdom. For today, we will start with the basic forms and stances. We had preliminary groupings for everyone, and I believe your Alpha coordinated this with all of you. Each group is led by my strongest fighters. They will correct your forms, guide you, and assess your performance. So, without further ado, please go to your designated teams. Good luck!"

We started with a 10-minute warm-up. We did a lot of stretches at the start, such as a half-split, a hurdler's stretch, and side splits. Then, we threw in some relaxed punches for 5 minutes, and for the finale, a jog in place. We gave them a 2-minute rest before we started with the kickboxing fundamentals.

"There are different stances, depending on where you are comfortable or your fighting style. I prefer where my feet are shoulder-width and my toes are facing forward. I also keep my back heel disconnected from the ground for more power. And when I move backwards, I want to have that balance."

I had Elias start and show them different stances.

"You don't have to do it my way. You can narrow your stance, bend your knees slightly, and compact the stomach. Engage your core."

We gave them time to replace their stance and be comfortable with it. The more experienced fighters were easily in stance and bouncing. Elias instructed them to adopt a guarding stance, execute punches, kicks, knees, and defend with their hands and legs. We repeated this for the first half of the session. I looked for Cory several times in the middle of the sessions. She was doing great and catching up quickly.

"Good job, babe! Right from your head, go straight at your target. When you punch, make sure your palm is facing downwards. Got it?" "Like this?"

"Yes, babe! You are doing great. When you throw that hook, twist those hips before you launch the punch. Yes, that's it."

I continued to help her with her punching form. Before I left, I wiped the sweat on her forehead and neck and gave her a quick peck.

"Lucas!"

I just chuckled and moved on to go to where the Alpha was. When I reached the group, I noticed that Luna was there. This woman was really testing my patience.

"As expected of the Alpha. You have great form."

"Thank you, your majesty!"

"Oh, your Luna is here. Hmm. From what I remember, I put her in Iris' group. Was there any form of miscommunication?"

"No, your majesty. W-We just thought that she would be better to be in this group as she was as strong as the other fighters in the pack."

"Y-yes, your majesty! I will prove that I should be in this group!"

I leaned in and whispered in his ear, but a little loud for Chloe to hear,

"Dare question my assessment? Or are you trying to protect her? Did you think you could get away with what you did?"

"W-wha...I-I..." He wasn't able to utter a word.

"My rules will be followed. So if I were you, better think again before making your own decisions, Alpha."

I threw a side glance at Chloe. Her face went pale, and fear crept into her face. They both knew exactly what I was talking about. I mind-linked with Iris and told her that Chloe would run ten lapses. This is just the beginning.
