Lucas POV:

The Alpha rogues and I found ourselves in the midst of an intense battle that was anything but fair. It was eight against one. I continued to evade their strikes, but I don't think I can do it for long. I have to turn off most of them to ensure our win. My body suddenly felt as if it had been tied up, completely immobilized, and unable to move. What the f*ck? "Let's make this quick. I don't have all day to watch you circle each other." Elisha shouted from where she stood.

D*mn that witch! I stand corrected. It was nine against one.

Adrenaline rushed through my veins as two massive brown wolves lunged toward me, their razor-sharp fangs bared for the kill. They grabbed and bit me on my shoulder and my ribs. A loud groan escaped my lips because of the pain they brought to my body. I fell to the ground, and a pool of blood started to accumulate.

"Lucas!! What happened? You're hurt! I felt it!"

Cory. "Do-don't worry about it, Cory. I am alright." My breath was wheezing.

"You don't sound OK! I'm coming to help you!"

"No! I-it's just a scratch."

"But..."

"I'm OK. And Cory, warn every.."

As I tried to warn Cory about the approaching rogues in the hideout, I was suddenly tackled by the group in front of me.

As soon as I snapped out of my trance, I felt a sudden jolt - the mind-link was disconnected. These rogues were not wasting any more time. I hadn't gotten back on my feet, and they were already onto me. And I couldn't dodge them as fast. They were able to land a few more punches on my face and body. My movements are now slower than last time because of the injury, and even with my royal blood, these wounds will still take some time to heal. F*cking sh*t!

Not even minutes later, the rogues pushed me down again.

One of them punched me again in the chest, knocking my breath out. Cough! Cough! Cough! That was a strong one. I got back up on my feet and pinned the one nearest to me. I swung straight, trying to smash his face, and his nose ran with blood. But before I could get another jab, the other rogues pulled me and held me up. They were holding my arms and my legs tightly to the ground.

They are toying with us! Is this their way of disrespecting the crown? Of you as the king?! Kali exclaimed angrily.

This is all fun and games for them. And the master gamer is Elisha. We need to call back up. I don't think I will last long if this continues. They are stronger combined.

I need a moment to catch my breath and call for reinforcements. So, I tried to add fuel to the fire. The rogue's face was dark, and he was furious about his broken nose Just before he could attack, I said,

"You're a coward! Why not try fighting me fair and square?

Instead of getting me hoisted by your comrades, huh? Are you scared that I could actually take you down?" I smirked, hoping to add annoyance.

"Release him." The rogue said.

"But Boris..." So his name is Boris.

"What, Augustus?" He glared at Agustus, and he was unable to speak further. I was released by Agustus and the other rogue immediately. So, I guess Boris has more power than any of the other rogues. I was on all fours when Boris spoke to me. "Stand up, Your Majesty."

Slowly, I stood up and was in my fighting position. I took that few seconds to call out to Silas, Elias, and everyone.

"Anyone there? -I need backup. Eight a-alpha...

While I was in a daze, Boris launched himself forward and knocked a punch in my face-an eye for an eye. My eyes watered as his bones made contact with the bridge of my nose. He came at me again with the same movement, but this time, I was able to duck and spin around. I quickly sprang into action and landed a jump kick on his back. He turned around and, again, charged with the same move - a right jab to the face. I sidestepped and avoided his punch.

He continuously threw punches at me, but since it was the same, I was able to anticipate and evade his attacks. This time, he was panting a little heavier.

"You tired, Boris?"

He seemed to explode in anger as he lashed out another right. Instead of blocking his attacks, I took the chance, grabbed his arm, and twisted it - emanating a loud grow! from him. With no hesitation, still holding on to his arm, I elbowed him in the face, spun around to climb on his back, and twisted his neck. Boris was instantly knocked to the ground - lifeless.

One down, 8 to go.

But I don't think I could take on all of them. No one responded to my call for help, but I hope this is not a sign that we are losing this war. But most of all, I hope everyone makes it out alive. As the ruler of this kingdom, I have to ensure everyone has a home to get back to and that we have protected it from those who want to ruin the peace.

Thinking about my family, friends, and the creatures of this kingdom, I suddenly got the strength to stand up and fight again.

"Who's next? How about you, Agustus?"

"GRRRR!" He growled at my comment. When he was about to strike me, a brown wolf suddenly charged at Agustus from the side. I felt like I had seen that wolf somewhere. It was as big as an Alpha, and he was as strong as one. No ordinary wolf would have thrown a huge rogue like Agustus on the other side of the field. Who is this wolf?

The brown wolf charged again at Agustus, and this time, he finished him. He knocked him off and then snapped Agustus' neck in a swift movement. Agustus, holding me a while ago, lay unmoving on the ground. The brown wolf is definitely an Alpha. But who could he be? He felt familiar.

And I got my answer when he shifted into his human form.

"Alpha John."

"Your Majesty." He lowered his head in respect. "The Midnight Moon pack has come here to fight for its kingdom. Some of the fighters were distributed in different places." "Thank..."

Then, a loud growl was heard from somewhere nearby.

Another Alpha rogue dropped dead. Behind him was a man, but upon further looking, it was Gabriel, the son of the Nightshade's Alpha. He looked different from the lanky boy I knew when I visited their pack. He grew muscles, and there was something else entirely different about him.

Beside Gabriel was Beta Anderson.

"Your Majesty!" He called as he approached me, checking my injuries. "My apologies for the intrusion, but may I see your wounds?"

"Thanks, Beta Anderson. But there's no time for that. We need to get rid of these rogues."

"Please pardon what I am about to say... But at least let me cover them. Let's stop the bleeding. Alpha Gabriel can handle those rogues for now."

"Alpha?" I didn't hide my surprise.

"Yes, Your Majesty. But that is a story for another time." So, Beta Anderson quickly pressed on my wounds and pressed some ointment to help with the pain. And he wrapped bandages around my body. The ointment definitely worked. I feel less stung now. "Thank you! I appreciate all the help."

As soon as we were done, I joined the two Alphas. The Alpha rogues don't stand a chance against them! They've already taken down one and are relentlessly pursuing the others. It's an intense battle, but their determination is unmatched "Good to go, Your Majesty?"

"Yes, Alpha Gabriel. Thank you!"

"You helped us first. And we have a score to settle with the witch." He said with a smirk and vengeance in his eyes.

Together, with the soldiers by our side, our team of four has a stronger chance of emerging victorious in this war. A sly grin spread across their faces as our soldiers looked at the outnumbered rogues. They knew they had the skills and strength to take them down, no matter how many of them there were. At the same time, the four of us can take on the other Alpha rogues. There were once eight Alpha rogues.

Now, there are only four remaining. Our best bet would be to engage in a one-on-one battle, but let's not forget the possibility of Elisha interrupting us. With determination, we charged ahead and made the first move.

The rogue in front of me was the one who bit my shoulder.

Perfect! Revenge is sweet. He pounced on me like a lightning bolt, his movements swift and menacing. With his swift movements, he connected a solid left hook that sent me flying sideways. I fell to my knees but was able to quickly get up before he could lunge at me. I could see the fury in his eyes, but this time, he wasn't quick enough to land another punch on me. He charged straight towards me once again, but I was able to dodge right. I saw an opening on his right rib, and without a second thought, I channeled all my strength into one swift kick. It seems like this has caught him off guard, and he's dropped his guard. As I clenched my fist, I felt adrenaline coursing through my veins. I took a deep breath and landed a few more punches, with the final one connecting with a satisfying thud as my knuckles met his left ear. He was down. And without further ado, I lunged at him and tore off his throat.

That would have been me, only if he didn't miss.

Looking around, we are winning this. The rest of the rogues were also unable to continue, either due to injury or being incapacitated in some other way. This is it. Our final showdown. Only one adversary stands in our way - Elisha.
